STELLA'S POV—
After that pointless discussion, we didn't talk to each other throughout the whole way. Reaching the mansion, we entered into it.
Suddenly, I felt something was wrong here. It's as if there are multiple presences present around us.
It seems they have breached this mansion when we were not present here. Seeing my face completely turn blank, Donald could sense something wrong was with me.
He asked, "What happened? Why are you—"
I put my finger on his lip and shushed him to keep quiet. I whispered, "Keep quiet. There are some unwanted guests around us."
Donald looked scared but nevertheless nodded. Fuck! My bag is upstairs.
Turning towards Donald, I motioned him to stay behind me but stay close. This situation is like a repeat telecast for me. I have been in this multiple times, where I have to fight with enemies, while protecting innocent civilians.
Carefully, scanning my surroundings, I saw a shadow behind a curtain. The living is dark, so they must have thought that hiding behind curtains would camouflage there shadow. While their plan is good, it won't work against me. I have faced this situation countless times, where the enemy tries to use the dark environment to their advantage.
Thankfully, there is only one of them here.
I whispered, "Behave as if nothing is wrong here, and sit on the couch. Then, start talking casually. When I give you the signal, run and hide behind the couch. Okay?"
Nodding, he went ahead and sat on the couch. Following him, I also sat on the couch, and started admiring the vase on the table.
According to the plan, Donald asked, "So, what's your plan for tonight?"
While caressing the vase as if, it's the most unique thing in the world, I replied, "Nothing. I am just going to sleep and take some rest."
"Is that so—"
Donald wasn't able to complete his sentence as I threw the vase at the person behind the curtain. *Bang* A loud bang sound was heard, the vase broke into pieces and the person him staggered and fell on the ground.
Looking at Donald, I yelled, "Now!! Go!"
Heeding my plan, Donald his behind the couch. Just as the man was about to stabilize himself, I dashed towards him snatched his gun, and shot him in his head.
Observing the dead body, I found it that the dead body belonged to a HYDRA soldier.
Fuck it!! They have found me again. Also, haven't they heard the word called 'discreet?' Are they idiots? Who the fuck wears a symbol that belongs to an evil organisation on their uniform? Talk about a hidden organisation.
From this sound, the rest of the soldiers must be alert. Slowly, I walked towards the spot where Donald was hiding.
Seeing me, he asked, "Is he dead?"
This reaction of his confuses me. Should a civilian be more scared in this situation? He is scared, but for himself. I can easily deduce that this guy doesn't care about anyone's life other than himself.
Ignoring my inner thoughts, I replied, "I am fine. But you," I pointed my him, "get out of here. Go and take the car."
Donald protested, "I can't leave you like this. I—"
"I can take care of myself. Remember, I defeated that monster by myself. So, these idiotic soldiers don't stand a chance against me."
Donald wanted to say something, but seeing the look on my face, he agreed and went out.
Now, as he is out of the way, I can fully focus on this issue. These HYDRA soldiers must be inside this whole mansion. Not a single must be outside, as I didn't sense any oddity outside.
Fine. I will retrieve my back from upstairs and leave this mansion.
Climbing the stairs, I slowly walked towards my room. Suddenly, a soldier tried to hit me. I blocked his punch and shot him in his leg.
"Ahhh!!!!" The man screamed in pain.
Not wasting any time, I threw him down the stairs from the landing.
Just as I entered the next floor, I found HYDRA soldiers were in their positions, waiting to ambush me.
Argh!! Again! Why can't they understand that they won't ever catch me by surprise again? Seeing me, they started attacking me. Fine. Let's finish this.
