Chapter 26: Chapter 26: War Pt 5
The Force was All-Encompassing.
Aiden had been limited by his own narrow vision and incomplete understanding of what he had Created. In doing so, he had failed to unlock the Force's full potential.
Through his own eyes, yet not in control, he witnessed the battlefield transform into a realm of utter devastation. The ground was scorched and fractured, the air heavy with the acrid stench of burnt magic and the agonized cries of the fallen.
Yet, amid this chaos, a singular thought gnawed at him: I was wrong.
He had spent so much time compartmentalizing his energy reserves, treating Psychic Energy, Mana, and Aura as separate entities. But The Force viewed them differently.
It didn't distinguish or isolate; instead, it unified. It absorbed and wielded everything at its disposal, melding them into a single, cohesive power that amplified its capabilities far beyond what Aiden had ever imagined.
The realization struck like a thunderclap, forcing him to confront the magnitude of his own ignorance.
As the battle raged on, Aiden's fragmented consciousness struggled to comprehend the method by which the sentient Force utilized energy. It was beyond logic, beyond his training, and far beyond the boundaries of his previous understanding.
Each act of destruction was punctuated by a startling realization: The Force wasn't just a collection of spells or energies—it was a manifestation of pure will.
It wasn't merely manipulating magic; it was bending the very fabric of reality itself.
This was the Highest Form of Magic.
Within the domain forged by Spatial Domination, the rules of existence warped at its command.
"I'm limiting you," Aiden thought, the weight of realization sinking into his mind. "My understanding of magic is holding you back."
Yet, there was no time for further introspection.
The battlefield was a maelstrom of chaos, with relentless waves of Parademons and Apokoliptian warriors surging forward, their numbers seemingly endless.
To The Force, this was inconsequential. It responded without hesitation, a being of instinct and mastery.
With precise control over Aiden's body, it extended a hand, distorting the space around a cluster of flying Parademons. Space warped, and in an instant, gravity turned against them.
The Parademons plummeted to the ground, crushed under an immense gravitational force that splattered their bodies across the broken terrain.
The scene was both grotesque and awe-inspiring—a testament to the boundless potential that The Force wielded, unshackled by the limitations of Aiden's understanding.
Simultaneously, with his other hand, The Force seized the battlefield's chaos, hurling debris and discarded weapons high into the air before launching them at the enemy with pinpoint precision.
The effect was devastating, a barrage of projectiles crashing into the enemy ranks like the wrath of a god.
The scene bore a striking resemblance to the Beast Titan's infamous boulder assault on the Scouts, only amplified in scale and destruction.
Within a 500-meter radius of Aiden, the battlefield descended into pure chaos. Enemies were flung and scattered like leaves in a hurricane, their formations crumbling under the relentless assault.
Mid-air, Aiden's consciousness strained against the overwhelming surge of power coursing through him. Yet, alongside the strain, he felt an undeniable exhilaration.
He wasn't merely a spectator but an active participant, learning, adapting, and evolving. Each action The Force took etched itself into Aiden's understanding, revealing the boundless potential he held within him.
This was the First Ability of The Force: Adaptive Power Evolution.
The Force was not static.
It constantly adapted, evolving with every new encounter and experience. As Aiden faced threats or explored novel concepts, The Force adjusted, granting him temporary abilities or enhancing his existing ones to overcome each challenge.
With this Adaptive Power Evolution, Aiden could develop unexpected and seemingly random powers tailored to specific needs.
One such ability was Gravity Manipulation—a striking evolution from his original Telekinesis.
Initially, Telekinesis allowed Aiden to move, manipulate, and interact with matter and energy by controlling the gravity surrounding them.
However, The Force expanded its capabilities and Gravity Manipulation emerged as a natural progression, enabling him to exert even greater control over the battlefield.
With Gravity Manipulation, Aiden could not only lift and move objects with precision but also alter gravitational fields to immobilize enemies, create barriers, or increase the impact of his physical attacks.
Each new ability unlocked through Adaptive Power Evolution came with its own set of advantages and challenges, requiring Aiden to continuously learn and adapt.
The Force's ability to evolve alongside him ensured that he remained a formidable force against relentless assaults, even as the stakes grew higher and the threats more dire.
Aiden marveled as The Force's strength flowed through him, and as it maneuvered effortlessly, he began to grasp its essence.
It was like learning magic all over again.
"Show me what you can do," he urged silently, surrendering to the energy that coursed through him.
As though responding to Aiden's silent command, The Force unleashed a wave of raw magical energy, a unique, untamed power that pulsed with an almost primal intensity.
The energy, drawn from the ambient magic energy in the battlefield, poured outward with Aiden at its epicenter, saturating the air with an overwhelming presence.
(A/N: The Force's unique energy bypasses the traditional Interception, Intervention, and Manifestation processes of mana manipulation. It simply is Magic, pure and unrefined.)
From afar, Aiden looked like a single point in the sky surrounded by waves upon waves of Magic energy that bent and twisted the very space around it.
The sheer magnitude of energy at his disposal was undeniable, like a storm given form.
One by one, battles across the field ground to a halt as warriors and mages alike turned their eyes to the source of such immense power.
Whispers of awe and fear rippled through both allies and enemies, their gazes fixed on the spectacle.
Even Thalor, the esteemed Grand Magus, paused mid-combat. His eyes narrowed as he focused his mana to pierce through the blinding energy.
For a moment, his expression was one of shock, an emotion rarely seen on his stoic face.
Then, a slow, broad smile crept across his lips, followed by a hearty laugh that echoed across the battlefield.
"Well, if that isn't the kid," he said, his voice tinged with both pride and amusement. Turning back to the towering New God before him, Thalor's grin widened.
"If even a youngster can summon such power, wouldn't I be ashamed to face my predecessors in the afterlife if I faltered now?"
The New God's gaze flickered briefly to Aiden's blazing aura, then back to Thalor. A low growl escaped its throat, its stance shifting as the tension between them reignited.
"You…"
…
Unbothered by all this, Aiden channeled these residual energies as he wove them into an even greater assault.
A flick of his wrist sent a wave of pure psychic energy spiraling toward a group of advancing Apokoliptian warriors.
The resulting explosion of force was immense, sending shockwaves that knocked enemies off their feet, disorienting them and creating a gap in their ranks.
At the same time, the psychic wave hit the Apokoliptian warriors like a hammer to their minds, sending shockwaves through their consciousness.
Instantly, they felt an intense overload, a blinding, searing pain that shattered their mental defenses.
Some dropped their weapons, clutching their heads as screams escaped their mouths, while others simply collapsed to the ground, rendered unconscious by the force of the assault.
A ripple of confusion followed among the remaining warriors, who staggered backward as the psychic energy warped their perception.
Their senses twisted, making them see illusions of allies as enemies, or experience overwhelming fear.
In the chaos, they stumbled into one another, creating disorder in their ranks, and their once steady advance faltered as fear took hold of their hearts.
Aiden slowly advanced, his left hand raised and thrust his palm outward, propelling a burst of debris that shattered armor and turned the first row of Apokoliptian soldiers into paste.
Without pause, he floated a sword towards him and coated it with his Aura giving it a blue outline that vibrated at speeds the naked eye couldn't perceive.
With its arc sweeping through opponents and with unflinching efficiency, Aiden went on a killing spree detaching body parts from the mentally impaired warriors.
Flames flickered at his fingertips, crackling as he released a blast, incinerating those in his path.
In that moment, Aiden felt an awakening, a merging of wills.
He began to grasp the fluidity of the Domain that The Force embodied. It wasn't merely about controlling magic—it was about being magic itself.
The Domain was an extension of his will, where every spell and every surge of energy reflected the undeniable truth of that connection.
"This is how it should be," Aiden thought, his understanding crystallizing. "Unified. Unrestrained."
As though responding to his newfound clarity, The Force expanded its domain further, drawing upon the ambient magic saturating the battlefield.
The ground trembled beneath the weight of their combined power, cracks spidering across the earth as energy of the domain coalesced around Aiden.
Parademons were caught mid-flight, their movements halted as they became ensnared in a tempest of raw energy.
With effortless precision, The Force manipulated their trajectories, flinging them into one another with crushing force, their forms disintegrating on impact.
"This… this is incredible!" Aiden thought, his consciousness merging seamlessly with The Force.
The enemies were no longer just targets; they were vessels of energy, resources to be harnessed.
Aiden felt the rush of power as The Force redirected their own momentum against them, unleashing a wave of force that scattered the Apokoliptian ranks.
"Faster!" he urged, as The Force began to move and execute its techniques with greater speed and precision. "Aim for the New Gods!"
In response, The Force paused and turned his gaze deeper into the battlefield, however at that moment, it paused and created a radiant barrier that absorbed an incoming beam.
The barrier shimmered as the beam flowed into it, the energy seemingly absorbed and integrated into The Force's. But just as it did, an overwhelming surge rippled through Aiden's body.
His consciousness wavered. His vision blurred. And then, darkness.
"What… what was that?" Aiden's thoughts echoed in the void as he became acutely aware of the emptiness surrounding him.
"I absorbed an energy I shouldn't have," a familiar, childlike voice replied, tinged with regret.
Before him, a figure began to take form, stepping out of the void.
It was a red-haired boy, or was it a girl?
The androgynous figure, clad in a flowing white garment, radiated an ethereal presence, their youthful appearance contrasting sharply with the weight of their words.
"You…you're-"
"The Force." The figure interrupted as his gaze pierced Aiden. "You're weak."
Aiden couldn't help his eye from twitching, but The Force wasn't done. "With the level of Adaptation and Evolution I've stacked, you should be able to survive whoever shot that beam."
Aiden scoffed, his irritation flaring. "Oh? I will have you know that I created you."
The boy tilted his head for a moment before nodding. "And that is why you're still alive."
"You-"
"That beam had a high concentration of energy I am unfamiliar with…hence it needs to be studied." The Force continued without allowing for Aiden to speak. "Don't die."
"Wha-" Aiden made to speak, but just as he opened his mouth, he was kicked out of the Space.
"AIDEN!"
A loud shout that reverberated through the battlefield rang out causing the unconscious and plummeting Aiden to snap back to reality only to find himself a few meters to the ground.
"Tsk." With no room to adjust himself, he could only click his tongue in annoyance at the way he was treated by the very thing he created, and with a mental command, his Spatial Domination sparked to life once more, halting his descent.
He had learned a lot from the backseat and wouldn't be caught in the previous disadvantageous situation.
At the moment his Domain sparked to life, he immediately became aware of everything and everyone within it and instinctively came to an understanding.
'The beam came from outside.'
With that conclusion, he peered into the distance where two New Gods and a group of disembodied Humans gathered.
Aiden narrowed his as he felt rage bubbling within him but he immediately suppressed it as he locked eyes with the smaller of the two New Gods.
He was in no mood to feel angered at the death of others.
That was arrogance and he couldn't afford it.
In this War, it was a situation of 'do your best to survive'. It was never about 'save as much as you can'.
It seemed as though the distance between the two blurred as one of them spoke. "You survived."
While Aiden couldn't afford speaking out of arrogance, he could afford speaking to manipulate the enemy. "You'll pay for that."
The New God's face morphed from his expression of interest to one of delightful amusement. "Why don't we find out about that?"
