Chapter 10: Hunt
Chapter 10 - Hunt
Li Tianhuan stepped out of his wooden house, feeling the cool morning air brush against his skin. The fog hung low over the village, veiling the surroundings in a soft, ethereal white. Dewdrops clung to the leaves of nearby trees, glinting faintly in the pale light filtering through the mist. The usual hum of the village was subdued, muffled by the dense fog that cloaked everything in a serene stillness.
The dirt path beneath his feet was damp but firm, carrying the faint scent of wet earth. Somewhere in the distance, a bird chirped melodiously, its sound sharp against the otherwise quiet morning. The towering peaks of Mengyun Mountain were barely visible through the haze, their outlines faint but majestic, adding to the mystique of the Southern Border.
Li Tianhuan adjusted the fabric of his simple robes and inhaled deeply, the crisp air filling his lungs. "I love rainy season," he murmured, his breath visible as a wisp of vapor in the chilly air.
He went straight down the street and to the left, and then to the right, until he reached the clan's guard station to request permission to leave. As he approached the guards stationed at the gate, one of them, a burly man with a thick beard, raised his hand to halt him. "Li Tianhuan, what brings you here so early?"
Li Tianhuan clasped his hands in a respectful greeting. "I seek permission to leave the clan grounds, Elder Brother. I wish to hone my skills and gather resources."
The guard eyed him carefully. "Leaving the clan isn't a simple matter. Do you have authorization from the elders?"
"Not directly," Li Tianhuan replied calmly, maintaining his composure. "But as a cultivator of the Yanxiao Clan, I believe it is crucial to practice outside the confines of safety. I will ensure I return before nightfall and will not stray far."
Another guard, a younger man leaning lazily against a spear, chuckled. "Brave words for someone your age. What do you plan to hunt out there?"
"Just some wild beasts," Li Tianhuan answered smoothly. "Nothing beyond my capabilities."
The burly guard sighed, rubbing his chin. "Fine. I'll grant you temporary permission, but be mindful—the elders won't tolerate recklessness. Report back here before sundown."
"Understood," Li Tianhuan said, bowing deeply. "Thank you, Elder Brother."
With permission granted, Li Tianhuan stepped past the gates and onto the forest path beyond. The fog grew thicker as he ventured further, muffling the sounds of the village behind him. Turning left at the fork in the trail, he made his way into the dense forest.
Towering trees loomed overhead, their branches intertwining to form a natural canopy that dimmed the already pale morning light. The earthy scent of moss and damp leaves filled the air, and the occasional rustle hinted at the presence of unseen creatures.
Li Tianhuan pressed forward, his senses alert and his steps deliberate, ready to begin his hunt for KP.
After venturing deeper into the forest, Li Tianhuan paused as he spotted movement through the mist. Five wild boars emerged from the underbrush, their hulking forms partially obscured by the fog. Their coarse, bristled fur glistened faintly with dew, and their beady black eyes darted warily through their surroundings.
Each boar had a set of sharp tusks curving menacingly from its snout, the edges worn but clearly capable of tearing through flesh and foliage alike. The largest among them, likely the alpha, let out a low grunt, its breath visible in the cool air as it stamped a powerful hoof against the ground.
Despite their bulk, the boars moved with surprising agility, their muscles rippling beneath their thick hides as they rooted through the undergrowth.
Li Tianhuan narrowed his eyes and focused inward. Li Tianhuan closed his eyes as he slowly opened them, his gray pupils shifting into a striking crimson hue. The transformation was instantaneous, the single tomoe in each eye rotating slowly, like a silent sentinel keeping watch over his perception.
The contrast between the dull gray of his ordinary eyes and the vivid red of the Sharingan was striking, almost mesmerizing. It felt as if the world itself had changed, every detail sharpened and made more vivid. While opening the Sharingan required minimal physical energy, sustaining its heightened abilities and using illusions through it demanded a steady infusion of primeval essence.
With his Sharingan active, the world transformed. Every detail seemed to leap into focus, from the faint tremors of the ground beneath the boars' hooves to the nearly imperceptible shifts in their breathing patterns.
The crimson hue of his eyes allowed him to see the subtlest of movements, their trajectories forming predictive patterns as though a map of their future actions unfolded before him. The Sharingan's abilities, honed through its tomoe, granted him unparalleled insight into motion and intent, making his prey's behaviors almost painfully predictable.
"This ability truly lives up to its legend," he thought, a faint smirk forming on his lips. "Now, I need to assess how much my strength has increased. With the strength equivalent to two boars, I should be able to take down one with ease. But since there are more, I can use the Sharingan to enslave the big alpha boar and manipulate it to attack the others, forcing them to fight each other."
He slowly moved through the bushes, positioning himself carefully at a distance where he could make direct eye contact with the alpha boar. The crimson glow of his Sharingan flickered faintly through the mist, its single tomoe spinning with deliberate precision as he readied himself to execute his plan.
Li Tianhuan exhaled deeply, surveying the results of his plan. With his Sharingan active, he focused on the alpha boar, infusing a controlled burst of primeval essence into the illusionary technique. The crimson tomoe in his eyes spun with precision as his will took hold of the alpha boar's mind. The creature froze momentarily, its aggression waning as it fell under his control.
The alpha boar suddenly turned on its own kind, its tusks flashing as it charged furiously at the nearest boar. The other boars reacted in confusion, grunting and squealing as they attempted to defend themselves. The forest erupted in chaos, with the enslaved alpha tearing into its former allies. Li Tianhuan stood back, observing the carnage with calculated detachment, his Sharingan tracking every movement.
One by one, the boars succumbed to the alpha's relentless assault, weakened and disoriented by the unexpected betrayal. When only the alpha remained, battered and bleeding, Li Tianhuan dashed forward. Channeling the strength enhanced by his Black Boar Gu, he delivered a crushing blow with his fist to the alpha's skull, ending its life instantly.
"Fu*k, that took all my primeval enregy otherwise I could have enslaved it like that to kill many animals here muttered," wiping sweat from his brow. "Even though illusion is good, it is not offensive. It can only work as support. I need to quickly create my path, but to do that, I need at least Grandmaster attainment in both illusion and rule paths, which will make it easier to develop the path I want to create."
"It's worth it, I got a total of 80 Killing Points with that," Li Tianhuan calculated, his mind racing as he tallied the results of his hunt. "The big alpha boar gave me 20 KP, and the other four gave 15 KP each. After selling the Black and White Boar Gu, I earned another 20 KP. Now, my whole total is 100 KP, which I can use to spin a multi-pull from the Gacha."

Hello, I want to ask the readers a question.
Can anyone Guess the new path I wanted to create using Illusion and Rule Path?
