Rey’s Journey in the Classroom of the Elite

Chapter 17: Chapter 18: The Only One You Can Rely On Is Yourself

Rey didn't really pay much attention to Hirata's words about "friends" and such. With so many friends, what did he matter?

"Friends? Is it really that easy to make them?"

"Are friends that are easily made, really friends?"

After eating, Rey walked a bit to digest, then went for a light jog to work out. After sweating a lot, he didn't stay outside for too long and returned to his room.

He continued with weightlifting. Everything that had happened that day needed to be released, and the best way to do that was by working out.

"People, they must rely on themselves."

"All failures are due to the individual's lack of ability. As long as someone has enough ability, they can solve everything."

"All friends, that's all they are."

Lifting weights and using various equipment made Rey's body drenched in sweat. His body had a perfect shape—his muscles were clearly defined, his abs sharp, and his body displayed a man's golden proportions. Even his legs and lower body showed the results of intense training. He wasn't just a muscular guy, his body was well-maintained.

As Rey stretched his arms back, the muscles on his arms were clearly visible, and even the white shirt he was wearing was struggling to contain them. It felt like the shirt might tear if his muscles grew any further. He continued to work out for a while, then took a break to stretch before heading to the shower.

The warm water flowed over him, cleansing the sweat and grime from his golden physique. His black hair was soft and neat, and Rey habitually cleared his mind while showering.

After the shower, Rey returned to his room, dried his hair, and made a decision. "I'll observe for a few more days." Once his hair was dry, he went to bed.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window and touched Rey's face, which he had already gotten used to waking up to. He didn't have issues with staying up late or sleeping in, and his biological clock was spot on. After completing his morning routine, he left his room, gripping his strengthener and heading to breakfast, then getting ready for class.

Today, Rey didn't skip class like yesterday. He entered the classroom and followed the lesson attentively, even though he occasionally played with his strengthener, he was still far ahead of most of his classmates who were either talking or sleeping.

During lunch break, after eating, Rey headed to the student council office. Three second-year students from Class 2-A, whom he had never met, were already waiting for him there. Also present were the Student Council President Horikita Manabu, the cheerful purple-haired secretary Tachibana Akane, and the vice president, Nagumo Miyabi.

They had all introduced themselves beforehand.

"I'm Rey, nice to meet you." Rey greeted with a smile.

He looked over the three second-year students, and they could feel a sense of humiliation and anger from his gaze. Their eyes were filled with hostility, and if looks could kill, Rey would have been stabbed a thousand times.

"Sorry, junior. Our classmates said some inappropriate things."

Horikita Manabu didn't speak, but Nagumo Miyabi was the first to speak, looking at the three senior students who clearly didn't want to apologize but knew they had to respect the student council.

"Apologize now!" Nagumo Miyabi's voice carried weight, and all three second-year students obeyed.

"Sorry, we shouldn't have spoken like that."

"Students from Class D are not 'defective,' it was just a spur of the moment outburst."

"Sorry, Rey."

Even though they were reluctant, the three of them bent down and apologized to Rey. At least on the surface, they couldn't do anything more.

"You guys are too kind. Since you've apologized, I'll forgive you," Rey said with a cheerful smile, seemingly unaware of the anger still burning in their eyes.

"Junior, I heard you want compensation. Although it's not much, these 3,000 points will be from us as compensation. Please accept them," Nagumo Miyabi observed Rey carefully and even took the points out of his own pocket. Even if the others had objections, they couldn't say anything.

"Thank you very much, senior." Rey accepted the points gladly, never refusing something that came so easily, as long as it wasn't harmful. The points were immediately added to his stock, keeping it above 100,000 points.

With the matter settled amicably, Rey left the student council room.

Back in Class 1-D, the chaos remained as usual. Rey sat at his desk, listening to the noise of his classmates. In his mind, he thought about how he could minimize any personal losses.
