Rey’s Journey in the Classroom of the Elite

Chapter 9: Chapter 10: Horikita Manabu, Approaching the Truth

In the Student Council office.

A knock on the door.

"Come in."

After hearing the invitation from inside, Rey opened the door and entered the office.

The first thing he saw was the Student Council President he had previously seen in the gym.

I think his name is Horikita Manabu, Rey thought. I wonder if he's related to Horikita Suzune.

Rey didn't care at all if he was calling someone by the wrong name and just continued with his thoughts.

"You must be a new student, right?"

"Is there something you need in the Student Council?"

Horikita Manabu, who was sitting at the desk, raised his glasses and spoke. It was quite rare for new students to come to the Student Council on their first day. Most students, after receiving a large fortune, would be spending it recklessly.

"President Horikita, I have a few questions, and I'd also like to report some of my classmates' improper behavior," Rey said with a somewhat odd tone, then explained his purpose.

"What?"

"Report classmates?"

Hearing this, Horikita Manabu was a bit surprised. It was normal for new students to ask questions, but to come on the first day and report classmates?

"Well, President Horikita, I'd like to ask you something."

"I don't think the monthly points we get as new students are 100,000 points, right? Does it have anything to do with our daily performance?"

"For example, if we don't perform well, will points be deducted? For instance, if we have 1,000 points, and we can earn 100,000 points, if we fall below 1,000, the points we can earn after that will decrease as well. Is the ratio of points to rewards one to one hundred?"

Rey didn't care whether Horikita Manabu minded or not, he just blurted out everything he had been thinking.

"..."

After hearing all this, Horikita Manabu paused for a moment and carefully observed the new student. He didn't expect the new student to know so much on the very first day.

However, he had no intention of giving detailed answers. Some things could be said, others could not.

"You should ask your homeroom teacher about those questions. The Student Council doesn't handle matters like that," Horikita Manabu replied, pushing the questions away.

"If you don't understand the school rules, you can ask your homeroom teacher."

That was quite clear.

"Looks like I was right. I already asked other seniors earlier, but they wouldn't say anything, and my homeroom teacher was also awkward about it. So, the school must have deliberately sealed off the information, right?" Rey said casually.

"This is an exam for us new students, right? Every new student in each grade has to go through this?"

"Are students expected to use their points to buy information, or do we have to figure it out ourselves?"

"If I'm not mistaken, the school points can be used to buy anything the school has, right?"

"Information, like this, must be one of the things the school offers, right? How many points do I need to buy it?"

Rey stood in front of Horikita Manabu's desk, speaking directly to him.

"For matters like that, you need to ask your homeroom teacher. But I can tell you this much—the school points can indeed be used to buy anything the school offers, whether it's goods or information. If you want to transfer classes, avoid punishments, or even withdraw from the school, you can do all of that with enough points."

Rey kept asking, and Horikita Manabu didn't disappoint. In the Student Council office, there was also a cute girl, about 1.55 meters tall, with short light purple hair tied into two buns on her head. She looked at the conversation between Rey and Horikita Manabu in surprise.

"Looks like points are more useful than I thought," Rey thought. He was already beginning to consider collecting points.

"At least I won't get expelled, right?"

Buying a way to remove the expulsion punishment sounded really expensive.

"Can I ask how many points are needed to remove an expulsion punishment?"

"And how much does it cost to transfer classes?"

"20 million points, whether it's for transferring classes or removing the expulsion punishment," Horikita Manabu said directly.

"20 million, that's quite a tough goal. That's not a small amount—just for so-called 'class unity,' right? It seems impossible for a single person to gather that, right?" Rey said with a disgusted look. He really hated the idea of class honor and group unity.

"Indeed. Right now, no student has managed to gather that amount by themselves, even if they use fraud or other means. The students who have managed to do so are usually those who work together with their class," explained Horikita Manabu.

"Interesting," Rey said, deep in thought. "So, the school points are universal, right? It doesn't matter if it's seniors or school staff, everyone can transfer points freely, right?"

"Yes, the points are universal," replied Horikita Manabu. "But you really don't hold back with your questions, do you? It's the first time I've encountered a student asking this much."

Rey smiled innocently. "That's how it is—the more you know, the more questions you have. Can't avoid it, right? It's up to you to deal with it, President Horikita."

"I have one more question. Is the school's punishment system based on the individual or the class? If I do something wrong, will my class also be punished?" Rey continued, wanting to dig deeper.

"There are all kinds of punishments. But for specifics, you'll need to ask your homeroom teacher," Horikita Manabu replied, not providing an answer.

Rey was now certain. Whenever Horikita Manabu didn't want to answer or couldn't, the response was always "ask the homeroom teacher." And anything regarding class ratings or points was something that couldn't be answered.
