Rise of the Zerg in the World of Gods

Chapter 16: Crushing the Goblin Tribe

Over 200 people gradually emerged from the simulation pods.

All of Class 1 passed, with several completely annihilating the invaders. In contrast, the performance of the three ordinary classes was dismal.

Out of 152 students from these three classes, only eight passed - a ratio too terrible to look at.

At this point, Xu Luo was the only one still in the assessment.

The initially proud Class 1 students were now watching Xu Luo's battle screen, their expressions far from pleasant.

They were the elite class, starting ahead of others and using many of the school's resources over the past month. Now, to have the spotlight stolen by someone from an ordinary class felt like a stinging slap to their faces.

However, to be honest, counter-invading the invaders' plane was something so crazy they had never even considered.

After all, compared to the invading species, their home base would naturally have more numbers. Moreover, invading another plane would subject them to suppression, weakening their strength.

Currently, Xu Luo was focused on managing his invasion.

For him, invading another plane was a first, but invading Divine Realms was something he had done many times and was familiar with.

Under his command, over 14,000 Zerg entered this lower plane.

The first sight was a vast forest, with tree hollows visible everywhere.

Goblins were cave-dwelling creatures, and living in tree hollows was very common for them.

The size of this plane was unknown, but as far as the eye could see, there was only an endless forest.

In a lower plane, the strongest creatures wouldn't exceed Bronze tier, which was the main reason Xu Luo dared to invade.

Even the strongest would only be Bronze Tier 9, so he had no reason to fear.

Moreover, even if all his species died, he wouldn't suffer any loss. Instead, he could gain experience in invading planes.

"System, scan this plane's species information!" Xu Luo directly used a new function of the Overlord system he had discovered.

[Ding! Analysis beginning!]

[This plane contains the following species: Goblins, Two-Headed Ogres, Turtle Doves,...]

[Goblin tribe population: 12,333, including one tribal chieftain, mages... warriors...]

[Two-Headed Ogre tribe population: 1,231, including one tribal chieftain, two-headed ogre mages... two-headed ogre warriors...]

[Turtle Doves...]

The Overlord system fed back all the analyzed intelligence to Xu Luo, including not just specific numbers but also their locations.

Hearing about the Two-Headed Ogres startled him. This was a species that started at Bronze Tier 9! Anyone who started with this would definitely be a genius among geniuses.

Two-Headed Ogre mages were also formidable among magic units, with their dual-casting talent being an extremely powerful ability. Although their numbers were few, Xu Luo decided not to provoke them. It was better to pick off the easier targets first, so he decided to deal with the Goblin tribe first. If there was time left, he'd consider the others.

The Zerg naturally had burrowing and digging abilities, so goblins hiding underground posed no problem for them.

The goblins, caught completely off guard while waiting for their expedition warriors to return, suddenly found themselves under attack. It was a one-sided massacre.

The Goblin tribe did have warriors and mages, but the mages were too fragile, killed in a single encounter without even a chance to cast spells.

Without their numerical advantage, goblins weren't much stronger than the Zerg. They had no resistance against the fierce Mantis Zerg and Beetle Zerg.

Seeing his subjects constantly slaughtered, the Goblin Chieftain finally couldn't sit still.

A goblin over two meters tall was a giant among goblins who were generally only 1.1 to 1.2 meters tall. Wielding a huge spiked club, he looked imposing.

In the underground world, the Zerg quickly disposed of the surrounding goblins and formed a formation to surround the Goblin Chieftain.

Although the goblins had over ten thousand in number, they weren't all living together, and many adults were out working or foraging for food.

The remaining thousand or so elite warriors had already been dealt with.

Most of the others were the elderly, weak, sick, or disabled. There weren't many combat-capable goblins left, and the sudden attack had eliminated most of the effective fighting force.

Now, the Goblin Chieftain was fighting alone.

Goblin Chieftain (Lord): Bronze Tier 9

Talents: Leadership Aura! Command the Masses!

Skills: Hammer Smash, Rapid Slam, Summon Guards!

Xu Luo briefly looked at the Goblin Chieftain's abilities and found that the lord template was indeed much stronger than the common and elite templates.

In comparison, the Queen was extremely weak when she was at Bronze Tier 9. If not for her egg-laying ability, she wouldn't have qualified as Bronze Tier 9 at all.

Leadership Aura made it easier for the Goblin Chieftain to gain the goblins' support and attract wandering goblins.

Command the Masses made his orders more easily accepted by goblins.

If not trapped in this lower plane, he might have been able to gather millions of goblins and establish his own kingdom, becoming a Goblin Emperor.

However, while these two talents were powerful, they had no direct relation to combat.

As for the three skills, they were simple. Hammer Smash was swinging his giant hammer to attack opponents, able to strike quickly three times.

Rapid Slam was grabbing an opponent for repeated over-the-shoulder throws.

Summon Guards called nearby goblin warriors to protect him.

But now, with most goblin warriors dead, this ability had little use.

The Beetle Zerg tanked at the front while the Mantis Zerg attacked from the sides. Although the Goblin Chieftain's attacks were powerful, with one hammer blow severely injuring a Beetle Zerg, every time he attacked, the Mantis Zerg's attacks would land on him.

Even a powerful individual seemed inadequate when faced with numerous attackers.

Although he was a lord template, much stronger than ordinary creatures, they were all Bronze Tier 9, now at the same tier. The sheer number of the two Zerg types was overwhelming. Under repeated attacks, the Goblin Chieftain became covered in wounds and soon fell to the ground.

Seeing even a lord-level creature like the Goblin Chieftain surrounded and defeated, all the observers outside were momentarily stunned.

In this surprise attack, the Goblin tribe was crushed without any effective resistance.

After defeating the Goblin tribe, Xu Luo began commanding his Zerg towards the Two-Headed Ogres' location.

He wanted to test the mettle of this species.

Encountering different species during invasions was beneficial for him. It would help him know how to deal with them if he encountered them again in the future.
