Chapter 62: She Is Still My Life.
Mason nodded, his expression serious. We will look into it, Mister Carlson.
"And if she has not paid her tuition yet," Carlson continued, his voice dripping with possessiveness, "I want to sign a check and pay it for her."
Lucas raised an eyebrow. Are you sure that's a good idea, Mister Carlson?"
Carlson's face darkened. " She is still my wife, Lucas. And I will do whatever it takes to take care of her."
Mason nodded, his expression neutral. " We will take care of it. Mister Carlson."
As Lucas and Mason left to carry out their new instructions, Carlson couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. He was still in control, still the one calling the shots. And Rita would soon realize that she couldn't escape him that easily.
The following Monday, Carlson walked into the office building with a spring in his step and a bright smile on his face. He felt revitalized, rejuvenated by the prospect of getting Rita back.
He entered the office, he was greeted by his newly employed secretary, Katrina. She was a stunning young woman with long, curly brown hair and piercing green eyes. She looked up from her desk and smiled warmly as Carlson approached.
"Good morning, Mister. Carlson," she said, her voice sweet and melodious.
Carlson beamed at her, feeling a sense of pride and satisfaction. He had hired Katrina just a few days ago, and he was already impressed by her efficiency and professionalism.
"Good morning, Katrina," he replied, extending his hand. "I am Carlson, the CEO of this company. It is nice to formally introduce myself."
Katrina stood up, shaking his hand firmly. "It is nice to meet you, Mister. Carlson. I have been looking forward to working with you."
Carlson smiled, feeling a sense of pleasure at her warm demeanor. He nodded at her, then turned and walked into his office, feeling like the king of the world. Here is the revised continuation:
As Carlson settled into his chair, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. He had been waiting for what felt like an eternity to hear back from Laura, the manager at the telecom company who had been investigating the theft of his baby at the hospital.
In the course of the investigation, Laura and Carlson had grown close, and eventually, they had fallen deeply in love. But despite their personal relationship, Laura had remained committed to uncovering the truth about the theft of Carlson's baby.
Carlson's mind was racing with questions, and he knew he had to get in touch with Laura. He quickly grabbed his phone and dialed her number, his heart racing with anticipation.
The phone rang several times before Laura finally picked up. "Hey, baby," she said, her voice husky and seductive.
"Laura, where have you been?" Carlson demanded, his voice tight with frustration. "I have been waiting for weeks to hear back from you about the investigation."
There was a pause at the other end of the line, and for a moment, Carlson wondered if Laura was okay. But then she spoke up, her voice low and serious.
"Carlson, I have found something," she said. "But I need to see you in person to discuss it. Can you meet me at the usual place at five P. M?"
Carlson's heart skipped a beat as he processed Laura's words. What had she found? Was it something that could lead him to his baby and Rita?
He nodded, even though Laura couldn't see him. "I will be there," he said, his voice firm and resolute.
As he hung up the phone, Carlson couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. He was one step closer to finding out what had happened to his baby and he was determined to get to the bottom of it.
Carlson arrived at the usual place, a small café on the outskirts of town, at five P. M sharp. Laura was already there, sipping on a cup of coffee and looking more beautiful than ever.
As Carlson sat down across from her, Laura's expression turned serious. "Carlson, I have found out who is behind the theft of your baby," she said, her voice low and urgent.
Carlson's heart skipped a beat as he leaned forward, his eyes locked on Laura's. "Who is it?" he demanded.
Laura hesitated for a moment before speaking. "It is Evans."
Carlson's eyes widened in shock. "Evans?" he repeated, his voice incredulous. "But why? What could he possibly gain from stealing my baby?"
Laura shook her head. "I am not sure, but I think it is more complicated than that. You see, Evans wasn't working alone. There was someone else involved, with the name stessy." They both used burner phones and I couldn't trace who they really are.
Carlson's face darkened with anger. "EVANS?" he repeated, his voice cold and menacing. "I will find out who that is and make them pay."
Laura placed a hand on his arm, her touch calming. "Carlson, we need to be careful. We don't know what we are up against, and we can not afford to make any mistakes."
Carlson nodded, taking a deep breath as he tried to calm down. He knew Laura was right. He needed to think clearly and strategically if he was going to get to the bottom of this and find his baby.
Laura remembered something and said, I was almost forgetting to tell you something. Carlson said, "what is it Laura?" Laura said, "Rayan, your personal assistant, was involved in the disappearance of Rita with stessy before she gave birth.
Carlson's eyes narrowed as he listened to Laura's words. "So, let me get this straight," he said, his voice cold and calculated. "Rayan, my personal assistant, betrayed me and worked with Stessy to hide Rita away from me?"
Laura nodded, her expression serious. "That's right, Carlson. It looks like Rayan and Stessy were in cahoots all along."
Carlson's face darkened with anger. "And what about EVANS?" he growled. "What role did they play in all of this?"
Laura hesitated before speaking. "From what we can gather, EVANS was responsible for the disappearance of your baby. It looks like they were hired by Rayan and Stessy to take the baby and hide it away."
Carlson's eyes widened in shock and outrage. He couldn't believe that his own personal assistant and his trusted friend Stessy could betray him like that.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He knew he had to think clearly and strategically if he was going to get to the bottom of this and find his baby.
"Okay," he said finally, his voice firm and resolute. "I want to know everything about Rayan and Stessy's plan. I want to know where they have hidden my baby, and I want to know what their motives were."
Laura nodded, her expression determined. "We will get to the bottom of this, Carlson. I promise."
