River Of Anew: Farming In Another World

Vol 3 Chapter 8: The Snowy Top

A few days had gone by, and the week's time Foin had given to Linyer was fast approaching. In the meantime, he was busy, and he had nothing else to do.

Just like it happened with the first peteach tree, the new plants, huunt and platic, gradually had more fruits. Each day, Foin used one huunt to make more and more matches, and with that, he also used one yellow platic fruit as well. He also used a few white platic fruits to create three sets of clothes. Everything else was stored in his inventory.

As days went by, he decided to plant more plants in the moist bathroom. And at the same time, he slightly extended that room. Now, that room not only hosted peteaches and élions but peppers, potatoes, and freshly plated huunt and platic, everything in their own separate pot; some had larger ones, some had smaller ones.

Time flew by quickly, and before he noticed it, a week had already gone by, although since he was underground, his sense of time was quite off.

On the day of Linyer's return, Foin woke up as usual. Due to his uneven sleeping schedule It was still way too early in the morning, but since everyone else was already up he got ready as well. The girls were already preparing the food, so he headed straight to the bathroom where he kept all his plants.

He harvested everything he could; élion flowers, peteaches, huunt and even the platic fruits were harvested. The ones he had later planted from these rarer plants were still growing slowly. For the time being, he stored each of the products in his inventory. And then, finally, he got to the peppers and potatoes.

Since he only wanted to keep grinding some more points and Experience Points, he planted them. Though he did not put them straight into his inventory, instead, he brought them out to the campfire so that the girls could cook them. As for the unneeded vegetation, he dropped them to the ground for the time being, as he had no plan for them at all. However, he needed to make an area for them as they would just keep increasing in number.

After his short harvesting, he sat down by the campfire and had a quick breakfast with Énilo and Gobu. As they were enjoying the food, Énilo's expression suddenly changed slightly. Due to her abilities, she was able to detect movement around Foin's area.

"Master, it seems Linyer has arrived... A bit earlier than I expected..."

Énilo said, but by the end, she lowered her voice, which turned into a mumble.

"Oh, I see. Then, I will get ready and greet them. You two should enjoy the meal while I am talking with her."

Foin stated with a warm smile as he stood up. He quickly walked over to his bed, next to which he had kept the three sets of platic clothes, which he had kept on the unused pelts.

He had quickly started dressing. He designed it so that he could put it over his regular clothes, so he quickly put it on without an effort. A long trouser which was slightly larger than her leg, so he needed to adjust its length by hand to fold it slightly. A cover for his pair of shoes, a thick jumper-like clothing with a hoodie, and then a cap to put on his hoodie should it not work as he had intended. And last but not least, his gloves.

Previously, he had experimented with the durability of the material, and it was remarkable. It was soft and easy to move around in it, but it worked as a spring. Despite its flimsy-looking structure, it was quite difficult to tear it, and even after a large deformation, it returned to its original size without a problem.

Once his gloves were on, he started climbing up. He pushed the peteach plat off and noticed just how the area had changed. He couldn't believe how much snow had fallen. It easily reached his thighs.

As he looked around, everything was dark, not only because of the dark clouds in the sky as it was snowing but also because it was so early in the morning.

As he finally climbed out of his underground base, he quickly put the cover back on and then looked around. As far as the eye could see, he saw nothing but snow. Even where the river was previously, now snow covered the entire river. As he scanned the foresty area, he could see something slowly approaching.

He could see two moving objects. As he walked closer, he saw that they were two cars dragged by a unique creature he could not recognise. The creature was raven-black and was emitting a misty, cloudy aura around its body. The size of a single creature was larger than a horse; Foin estimated that he was just about as tall as the leg of the creature, maybe a bit shorter than it.

As he kept looking at it, the creatures' faces were almost blank and strangely straight. It had nothing but three eyes on the top of the head. Two were in a single line, and the third was located above and between the lower two.

Other than a unique head, the creatures had other distinct figures. One of the most eye-catching was the fact that they had three pairs of legs. Although all touched the ground, the last pair was much larger and seemed to have an extra joint, which Foin could not quite understand why it had. To top everything off, Foin noticed that they both had fluffy tails moving from one side to the other.

As the creatures walked closer, Foin stared at the muscular build of the creatures for a brief moment, then looked at what they were pulling. The carriages had one-one person acting as a coach. Just like the creatures, the dominant black colour was eminent, and the coach wore a similar black armour. As they breathed, it was easily noticeable in the cold weather.

The carriages were no different; they were all black-coloured and had no extra colour or design added to them other than a set of windows on both sides through which a dim light could be seen.

Seeing the strangely large visit, Foin felt his heart pounding in his throat, but he quickly shook his head. After all, this was his fault for inviting Linyer back; he needed to deal with this himself.

"Perfect Breathing!"

Foin mumbled; he soon noticed the skill effect as he calmed down, just like before. He remained standing not far from his entrance just in case something happened, but he patiently waited for the visitors to get to him; he was waiting with a grin on his face.
