Samson: The Undead

Chapter 27: Chapter 4 Episode 24

"Samson!" Rolling off her back and onto her feet Sarai shot across the cave entrance. "You made it! You made it!" Peering over the edge the Warrior Princess shook her head. "I thought you were going to fall off the mountain and break your head."

Pulling himself up and over the ledge Samson fell to the earth with a thud. "How long did it take?"

"Three days."

Shifting his head to the left to stare at a cloud Samson gave off a weak grin. "Three days…that's good?"

"It's excellent, most people take weeks, even months to climb but your body regenerates at a rate so fast that as you are tearing and working your muscles they are rebuilding, strengthening and expanding at the same time. That means that there are no limits to your physical limitations. Now that is marvelous."

"If my body is regenerating then why am I so tired?" Asked Samson with a yawn.

"Energy. Your body has burned up all of its energy reserves and is in need of a recharge. You will slumber and when you wake you will have an insatiable hunger. For now focus on resting for we may have taken a shortcut but that doesn't mean this route is any safer. Once inside the mountain there is no turning back."

Nodding his head Samson replied with a yawn then slumped backwards into the dirt.

"How is your research coming along Flammel?"

"Vexing." Placing a beaker down next to a scalpel like instrument The Herald shook his head. "Your sleeping spell or technology is of any use. Though she is unconscious her body still has a mind of its own. Whenever I attempt to probe or prod her it hardens or become prickly. Two of your researchers have been stricken ill from perforation of the skin by these thorns while another was pierced through the chest by a tendril. I believe…"

"We care less about your belief Flammel, only the results. You asked to conduct experiments and test on the being and we granted you that request. Now we ask that you fulfill ours. Gain knowledge on this creature at any rate possible. You have three days to create a huack." Coughing up blood the general fell to the floor.

Woop, woop, woop, woop, alarms began to blare throughout the facility. "Sporus contagion has been identified in cell E,X, eight, nine, zero, one, zero lockdown initiated, contagion eradication commences in zero point sixty seconds, fifty-nine, fifty-eight."

Looking up at Flammel with questioning puppy dog eyes boop the general hit the floor with a hard smack lifeless.

"What's…" ripping at his throat as it began to shut a dizziness ran around Flammel causing him to collapse. "Ha…" Inhaling through his mouth the Herald took a glance at the SouBei lying on the metal table. Pointing at white and red flowers blooming along her wooden arms he opened his mouth to speak but words couldn't escape. Watching his vision blur, a slip of his hand led his head to marble floor rendering him unconscious.

"Chion…" whispered a man into the night. Wooosh, weesh, responded the wind and trees to his call. "Chion."

 "Avirek, am I correct?"

"Who are you?" replied the man.

Stepping under the moonlight, Tecto asked him. "Do you remember me now?"

Taking a step back at the sight of the Inkan, the officer's head slung in all directions in search of assistance. "How…How did you find me?"

"I can track anything my light touches."

"I don't understand."

"Allow me to elaborate. The world is made of and consists of two main elements: water and light. The light creates the illusion." Waving his hand Tecto peeked down to the right of him.

"Chion!" Hollered Avirek at the unveiling of his comrade.

"The water is what forms and holds the light energy reflecting its nature and transforming it."

"Chion." Shaking with grief and rage Avirek arm shot forth. "I'll…" Woom, words cut off by the snatching of his body by a magnetic pulse the officer found himself hanging upside on a spider web.

"Fascinating Fact. Spider webs have electrical properties and you are in a forest full of them." Strolling confidently to his captive Tecto looked him over. "I'm going to ask you some questions. For every lie I will." Transforming his hand into the shark-like feature it holds when in his Evol form the Inkan slid it across the officer's face peeling away flesh.

Screaming with agony the man spat on the ground barely missing the Tajirian cap that fell from his head. "I'll rather cut off my tongue."

Shrugging his shoulders Tecto hit him with a jolt of electricity which caused the officers whole body to spasm. "I can do much worse."

Laughing, Avirek then spat on the ground. "You can't break!" he shouted. "But you will be broken."

Staring into the eyes of his hostage Tecto fell into a cross legged position. "Your tactic to scream in hopes of attracting one of your fellow officers is in vain. I also hone the ability to manipulate vibrations. Your words will never be heard. I suggest you answer my questions and don't lie to me or you will suffer the consequences."

Thoof spitting at the Inkan, Avirek grinned. "I will retain all information asked until my grave." said the office with a sneer.

"Then you will surely dig it. Now, first question. What is your name?"

"Cal…" attempting to say a false name eyuuuumpt an electrical shock ran through Avireks body. "Cal…" Eeeeyeempt, tit, tit. Breathing heavily after the second jolt the officer decided to go quiet.

"Silence will not work either." Cutting his captive shirt off with a claw, Tecto lightly slid it across the officer's belly breaking skin. Huffing out a laugh the Inkan tapped his hostage on the face to make sure he was paying attention. "My motives are one thing and that is to rescue the SouBei. If you are to assist I will allow you to remain here in peace till my passing but if not you will be trapped in a pain so excruciating that you may lose your mind. Which one shall it be?" Nodding his head Tecto said. "Are you sure that's your response…Don't give me that puzzled look. I told you everything my light touches I own. I can now receive your electrical impulses as well as send them for instance." Raising up a finger yeent a tiny spark of electricity burst sending a signal to Avirek's right arm commanding it to move. "Now that we are aware that I can read your thoughts and have reign over this predicament, would you like to speak?"

"The SouBei…The SouBei…" bursting out in laughter Avirek said. "The SouBei you will die with the witch."

 ~ ~

"General." Waiting for confirmation to speak, the officer strode over to his superior's desk. "General, I'm here to make an update."

Looking through his screen at his subordinate the general rolled his hand across a mug sitting on his desk. "Tell me the status of production."

"As of now we are setting up all cautionary measures in the Amphitheatre. It is said that a large bounty has been placed on the head of this SouBei, so we will have special guests during the execution."

"This I already foresaw, that was my reasoning for the bringing of Commander Gonal. At this moment his orders are to keep an eye on the city, meaning everything coming in and out."

Laughing slightly the officer shook his head. "If I didnt have the knowledge of his constructs I would believe this city was built off automatons."

"That is the idea. That way if a battle breaks out we are able to contain it without harm to our men." Looking at a file on his screen the general asked, "What about Stath have he finished placing up his sigils for transport."

"He is in the midst of making preparations as we speak. Help was needed of him to in Sangrese but that situation has been managed and he is now readying Mount Ru for emergency evacuation." Fidgeting, the official peered up at his six foot superior. "Pardon GeneraI if you don't mind me asking…will three captains be enough."

Grinning the General slanted his head. "I have done the calculations three captains are not sufficient for a full scale attack but the base will. If measures are pressed then we will transport the battle to the simulation chamber. The energy of today's events will flow through Mount Ru thus far empowering the city."

Shifting his body the officer's eyes popped out at the cleverness of the general's plan. "If worse comes to worse."

"I can download the energy." said the general with a clench of his robotic hand.

Laughing the officer shook his head then howled to the sky. "I will follow you to the very end."

"Pealim." Bouncing, skipping and twirling around Sarai took in the environment. "Why are all of the flowers glowing?"

"That is because of the crystal deposits in the soil You see…" Pointing up at the faint glow thousands of feet above them Abbott told her, "Those glimmering lights are humongous crystals which absorb the energy of all that enters this cave. When these fixtures break they fall from the ceiling and into the soil bonding the ground with the energy and light which the plants absorb and release."

"But that plant has purple flames" said Sarai. "Can I touch it."

"A majority of the shrubbery will exude different quirks due to their bond with differnet energetic frequencies which come from the various Quintessennce which reside in this mountain."

"Oh" said Sarai. "Can I touch it?"

"No."

"But…" Levitating in the air she began to fly in circles. "The are so pretty."

"Everything that looks pretty is not good for you. In fact most of the creatures that are colorful are poisonus."

"I was told that I'm immune to poison due to my wyvern blood."

"Huuuf" exhaling Abbott gazed up at the circling Warrior Princess. "You may be immune to poison but not danger."

"Danger!" said Sarai with a high pitch. "I…" Being snatched out of the air before she could finish speaking The Warrior Princess gazed up at a furry, floppy eared quint. "Heyyyyy." wrapping her arms around the creature she sunk into its arms.

"Sarai" said Samson, throwing his arms out at the rabbit-like creature speeding off with the princess.

woosh, woosh turning his head at the flap of wings Tecto peered over his shoulder at his associate. "You finally reveal yourself."

"I have been in hiding preparing for the execution." Landing into a walk black inky wings sunk back into their master's body. "What's the plan?"

"JunBee." searching his comrades eyes Tecto exhaled then scratched his head. "I may have regrets later but I have poisoned the mass of the city with both your blood and that of my sisters." Taking in his actions with a breath the Inkan shrugged his shoulders. "I believe they will resurrect as SouBei. During the disorder and chaos we will make our move."

Gazing out at the city of Tajir with its spires, buildings and abstract structures, JunBee laid his hand on his companion's shoulder. "It seems those experiments paid off."

Nodding his head Tecto pointed at an enormous stone column standing up in the middle of the city. "That is where the execution will be stationed. Now don't allow the volcanic perception misconstrue in actuality it holds water and the only known entrance is either portal, flight, or climbing. Whichever way you place it the authorities will have all of them covered."

Taking in the information JunBee asked, "Where are these gates to these portals?"

"The four gates are posted within the four boroughs of the city."

"I have yet to be seen even though our lodging was invaded. Getting into one of the burroughs should be no problem."

Handing JunBee a mask Tecto gave him a stern look. "It doesn't matter if they have seen us they still know who we are. These will help."

Tooft, tooft, tooft, tooft, waking to the soft thuds of dirt falling Kim Flammel wiped his face and spat as some of the soil rained down upon him. Grumbling at the tiny assault he continued to lie there until more spurts of dirt hit him again causing him to stiffly rise. "What in…" blinking his eyes, bloop, his left eyeball fell out. "My eye…" following his eye as it rolled The Herald words got caught in his throat. Spinning his head in all directions he let out a scream then boowooop his entire body bloated and he slowly began to rise.

"Put your backs into men." screamed a man at his workers. "These corpses need to be buried as of now."

"Yes sir." hollered the crew in response.

"That's what I'm talking about!" Observing his team "Hey you!" his eyes narrowed in on one of the workers. "What are you daydreaming about, get to work."

Standing with his jaw agape all the man could do was point. Turning around to speak, the boss opened his mouth to speak when boomf. "It exploded." one of the workers said with a jitter, jolt, and gag from the flesh dripping off him.

"Where did everything go?" Entering complete darkness Kim Flammel's skeletal body fell back into the pit.

"What was that?" Running to the edge of the pit and peering into the digger yelled. "He has nothing but bone left." Tttik, tik, tik rattling and shaking like a skeleton hanging from a stream, wawooosh, with an inhale Kim Flammel began to breathe in the essence of the hundreds of men. "Beautiful." Holding his gaze on the beautiful array of colors flowing into the mouth of the skeleton the man whispered you have to see this before collapsing into the pit himself.

 "Grigg!"

"Curses." Tossing his shovel one of the workers said, "I quit."

"You can't leave, I own you."

" I'm escaping who's with me." hollered the man with a dash towards the carriages.

Do, do, do, do, shovels knocked on the ground like a door at ascension of the skeleton once again upon land. "Runnnnn!" someone shouted but it was lost in the screams and hollers of men running for their lives.

Picking up the different vibrations of the men scrambling about The Herald's eye sockets lit up in a rainbow of colors like a disco ball. "Hmmm" With an exhale Kim Flammel floating hanging body lowered him to the earth standing him upright. Taking in two more deep breaths, woosh' the SouBei fell into a world of vivid colors, lights, and vibrations beyond imagination.

"What is going on?" Waving his hand Kim watched in awe at how it moved as if it pixelated coming together only when still but even then it continued to vibrate. Lifting and turning his head as a wave of animosity passed through him The Herald gazed at the worker with beaming white eyes.

Dropping his shovel the worker took off in a mad dash, beaming white eyes still burning in his mind. "Wait!" Tossing his hand out Kim said, "Take me…hufff...with you." Sighing, Flammel shook his head. "Guess this is going to be a long walk."

"This way." Bending a right down another one of the mountain's vast caverns, Samson ran down the hall until he reached the center of a path with several options to take. Looking up foof the SouBei catapulted into the air latching on to the bottom of a ledge hundreds of yards in the air. Huff, crawling up it like the bottom of an iceberg and hurling himself over the top The Undead halted.

Breathing heavily Samson stared down the dark passage at the rabbit of a Quint standing on the other side with Sarai asleep in its arms. "Oh there she goes." Said Abbott landing softly next to his Abhah. Peeking over his shoulders at his visitors the Quintessence ears wiggled then it dropped the princess in its furry pouch. Rotating its head giving them one final look the beast leaped.

Bolting into in pursuit of the Quintessence Samson dove into the deep abyss only to have the Quint to rocket past him after bouncing off a floating platform. Ricocheting behind the lizard tailed beast The Undead flew from one platform to another following his target through, in between or over the levitating islands until, poof a giant red with blue spots mushroom floofed out one of like an airbag.

Floof landing into the giant mushroom foof the Quintessence was shot upwards at an angle through the parted platforms and into an ice blue portal which materialized into being before. Pish splashing through to the other side the quint spread its arms out allowing its wings red, yellow, and green wings catch the draft rising from the steam and vapors of a waterfall.

Popping out of the portal seconds later Samson found himself free falling. Turning his back towards the ground The Undead scanned the sky for a sign of his target. Chuckling once entering under a clear blue sky The Omega placed his hands back in amusement as he fell. "It seems we have reached Meridian Isle."

"Mommy, mommy are those robots, going to see the sacrifice?"

"It's not a sacrifice, Heedo, it's an execution and those aren't robots babies. Those are Commander Gonal's creations here to keep a watchful eye over everybody."

"Kogro says that all executions and battles, held at Mount Ru, are a sacrifice of energy to power our beloved city."

"Next!"

Rotating her head with a smile the woman snatched the little girl's arm up happily. "Let's go, we don't want to miss the sacrifice." Walking up to the two guards presenting two coins in her hand the lady waited for his nod to drop them in the amethyst and gold container sitting on a pearl podium.

"Pretty" said the child, jumping with joy as a purple, gold, and pearl swoosh of a portal swirled to life in the door of the golden arch.

"Everything is well in the first quadrant…" Spoke Commander Gonal. "And the Fire Quadrant seems to be in order."

"There's no friction in the Flaming Corner." Said the general with a tug of his beard. "Something must be amidst. We will definitely have to keep our eyes open." Scanning through the screens at the rest of the quadrants the general told his subordinate. "Give me an aerial view."

Swiping away the screen Commander Gonal said, "Pulling drones up now."

Tch, tch, tch slapping and pushing past giant banana-like leaves while grumbling and cursing at space Kim Flammel came to a halt at the tap of stone against stone reverberating through the jungle. "What's that?" Turning in the direction of the sound tit a second strike followed by a third led to the ignition of a flame which The Herald could within his mind's eye. Focusing on the flame in his mind for a second Kim leaped up at the flicker of shadows about the fire. "People."

Dashing through the forest detecting the environment through sonar vision from the vibration crawling up his bones with each footstep. Allowing his senses and the magnetic pull of his chosen destination to carry him over boulders, across streams, down hills and through crags The Herald came to an open space on top of a hill surrounded by tall slender trees which gave view to the thousands of stars burning in the night air. Transitioning to a stroll from a sprint Kim Flammel could feel the warmth of the fire radiating and warming his bones as he crept towards the camp.

 "Excuse me…"

"Ahhh!" Screaming to the top of her lungs a young girl scrambled off the log she sat on. "Monster."

"Monster where?" Spinning around in search of what the girl was talking about, Kim Flammel paused at the mob of people running out of their tents encompassing him. "Is that?" Picking up on the thought waves vibrating from the people The Herald pointed at the picture in his mind's eye. "That's me."

Observing himself through the lens of their eyes Kim Flammel said to himself. "It all makes sense. The lack of hunger. Lack of exhaustion." Dodging a pick axe The Herald chopped his aggressor in the throat then slung him into a comrade. "I can see their movements." Stepping past another attacker and kicking him in the back of the leg he moved on to his next two opponents with swiftness.

"Move!" Hoisting a giant turbine cannon on his shoulder, woooom, the bluish titanium weapon revved to life. "Die!"

Turning to face a plasma beam railing his way woom the train of energy ran through The Herald leaving his body crackling with energy. "Is it dead?" one of the campers asked with a peek.

"Aaagh" Rising after being left for road kill, The Herald swirled a ghost like flame of plasma around his hand. "So that's how that works." Standing up Kim told the shooter. "Hit me again."

Ricocheting glances from one person to another, everyone's eyes swung towards the bulky caveman of an associate. Returning his peers gaze with a trembling one the man dropped his weapon then took off running. "Save yourselves! Run!"

Computing the details of the moment for a second The Herald eyes went red and fumes of energy began to rise off of him. "I'm sorry, but you won't be leaving."

Trembling in fear from the menacing aura emanating from the SouBei one of the campers screamed and passed out, while another peed and fell to the ground in complete shambles. "What are you doing…"

Bolting across space, kawish, The Herald thrust his arm through the body of the runner for all to see. Staring into the eyes of his victims wawooop Kim Flammel took his victims soul and life force during his last breath.

Quivering in terror and unable to move the family watched helplessly as the light was taken from their companion. Gulping at the snap of the SouBei necks, demon red eyes whirled around beaming on them like lasers.

"I give you my gratitude for informing me of my newfound abilities." Said Flammel, strolling slowly towards the campers. "In addition to giving me one as well." Lighting his hands up with a slimy green fire The Herald stopped a few paces away. "If it wasn't for my condition I would allow you to live. But if I did you would alert the authorities of my presence and that they must not be aware of. For even through death I have found a way to fulfill my dreams and wishes and I will not allow myself to be stopped now."

Spraying the family with the flames, Kim Flammel stood there watching until their last breath followed by their light was reeled out of their mouths by tendril-like black fumes flowing from The Herald's body. Wiping away the flames and allowing the ashes to blow the bodies away, the SouBei spun around facing the direction of the city. "I guess I will have to readvise my plans. But to the execution I go nonetheless. I hope I make it in time."
