Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Chapter 4: The Inevitable Kiss of Destiny
Surprised by the sudden attack, several people from the group, especially the protagonist Takeshi, asked what he was doing. Amidst the confusion, Shizuka nearly crashed the bus into the embankment's retaining wall.
Braking sharply, Shido, who was on the floor, was thrown forward, hitting his face on one of the seats, and piercing his right eye, causing him to scream in agony. With the bus stopped, a worried Takeshi tried to help Shido up, who had his hand over his right eye.
Even with his eye pierced, Shido slapped Takeshi's hand away and, with fury in his voice, asked why. With everyone on the bus looking at him, some angry, others confused, and some happy, Renji replied:
"Did you really think no one would see what you did?"
"I didn't do anything! You little piece of shit."
"Oh, my! Revealing your true personality now, Sensei?"
"You who came with him, wasn't there one more student among you?"
"Yes," one of the girls who came in the same group as Shido replied while stuttering. "But I heard him falling and being killed by those things."
"Huh-huh! That's not quite what I saw!" Before he could finish speaking, Shido yelled at him, calling him a crazy psychopath. But a well-placed kick to his stomach silenced him. As no one expected him to continue hitting Shido, he managed to hit him again.
"Shido! I saw very well you pushing that student down and then kicking him in the face so you could have time to escape. I particularly hate people like you."
"I hope no one here interferes! Just as he gave his own student to the zombies to eat, I'll do the same thing."
"You're crazy!" exclaimed Takeshi. "He's a person, not to mention you were the only one who saw him doing that."
"Of course, you didn't see it. You were arguing with me about saving those scum," Rei said. "You're always like this. Do you know what he did to me? He's the scum of the scum. He deserves to be eaten by them."
"Rei! You're going crazy, too!"
The moment he called Rei crazy, Renji grabbed him by the shoulder. "Takeshi, ask anyone here who's ever met him. Like your friend Kohta over there."
"Kohta, could you share your experience with Shido?"
"S-sure," he replied nervously. "A while ago, Shido gathered a group of students to beat me up at school, while he watched and laughed at me. But I don't think he deserves to die like that."
"See, this is Professor Shido. And from what Rei said, he must have done something to her, yet you still want to save him? Seriously, you are a child."
"With your personality, I wouldn't be surprised if, if you led us, the girls would soon be captured by another group and raped in front of us, and soon after we would be killed."
"Understand, kid! The world has changed. It has only revealed itself to everyone because the world has always been cruel."
"Get out of your bubble and see how many women around the world are kidnapped, raped, and sold into slavery. The world is not as beautiful as the fantasy in your head. There has always been and will always be war, even if it is for stupid reasons, like jealousy of someone else having a beautiful wife or even because your harvest or hunt was better than your neighbor's. If you leave an enemy alive, you will only make your loved ones and friends suffer."
Hearing growls approaching, he looked out the window. "Right on time!" he exclaimed when he saw three zombies coming toward the bus. Punching Shido in the mouth, he grabbed him by the hair and dragged him toward the bus door. Except for Saeko, who had a burning fire in her eyes as she looked at him dragging Shido, and Rei, who looked at him with gratitude, the rest of the group didn't dare look at him.
Before throwing Shido out the door toward the zombies, he brought his head close to his ear and whispered: "Only I can manipulate and torment these poor souls. Go enjoy hell in my place."
With his teeth crushed, he didn't have the strength or time to say anything. The second he finished speaking, he threw him forcefully toward the zombies.
"Well... I'm sorry for what you had to see. I had no choice. And Shizuka-sensei, we can go."
-------------------------
A few moments later.
-------------------------
With Shido's death, the conflict he had fomented, intending to become the leader of the group, was avoided, allowing the bus to pass through the tunnel before it was blocked by the passenger bus that would have overturned and exploded.
Also, thanks to this, Takeshi's character development, when facing the situation where Rei would have been taken hostage and molested at the gas station, was avoided. But perhaps it was fate! If you're with the protagonist, trouble comes knocking at your door.
Before they reached the Onbetsu Bridge with a loud bang, the left front tire of the microbus blew out, causing it to skid, colliding with some abandoned cars near the river.
Because of the accident, Takeshi was thrown on top of Rei! Using all his dexterity and reaction, Renji pushed Takeshi, who ended up bumping face-to-face with Tsunoda, one of the members of Shido's original group.
Perhaps it was decreed by fate that Takeshi would kiss someone in this incident, but unfortunately for him, Renji was there, changing from the beautiful Rei to the tall and robust Tsunoda. Making them share a beautiful kiss while Takeshi fell on top of him.
As for Rei, she was safe in Renji's arms her. Face turned red after realizing the suggestive position they were in. But when she looked to the side, embarrassed, she heard Tsunoda and Takeshi almost vomiting in disgust at having kissed each other.
"Takeshi, you bastard!" Tsunoda said as he threw a punch towards his face. But for unknown reasons. Kof! Kof!. Yes, unknown! Tsunoda ended up slipping, and as if he was attracted by a magnetic force, they kissed again.
