Chapter 17: Premoni7ion



Yuto, dodging the fake attack, didn't have time to dodge the machine gun, which started firing 777 shots per second.

Each bullet was capable of piercing 7 kilometers of reinforced metal. In addition, they caused tremendous destruction in the surrounding area. A hole measuring 77 centimeters in radius formed where the bullet penetrated.

The ammunition never ran out. His body was capable of producing any type of ammunition infinitely, at a speed that could keep up with the rate of fire. All he needed was internally produced energy. Most of it came from the sun, which was absorbed by the surface of his dark body.

Yuto, in response, tried to reflect. This slowed them down, but he was thrown to the other side of the mall by the impact, breaking the glass wall of a store and stopping after crushing the wall.

The blue crystal on Wisedroid's chest lit up. When fired, it was capable of releasing enough energy to disintegrate the entire mall and 7 kilometers away. Yuto rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the initial laser. As we ran away from it, it continued to spin until it destroyed a significant portion of the mall's foundation.

It started to crumble, so Yuto ran to the parking lot. Wisedroid came flying in and fired regular lasers at him, which managed to deflect the smaller ones.

I feel sorry for their owners, but I need to test something.

Yuto grabbed some cars with his power and threw them towards the android, who fired rockets at them, blowing up a large area. Yuto grabbed a lamppost with his hand and threw it towards the Wisedroid, who simply cut it in half with a laser.

— You're just damaging public property now.

— Private property too, for equal rights.

Wisedroid fired several rockets at Yuto, destroying nearly half of the parking lot. Yuto, in response, ran to a nearby skyscraper.

He won't shoot me if there are civilians around.

To his surprise, the android continued to fire lasers, antimatter bullets, and rockets at him. With no other option, he jumped towards the Wisedroid, trying to punch him. The blue crystal lit up again, firing a huge laser and pushing Yuto towards the skyscraper's window. His body went through the ground to the other side of the building.

Wisedroid picked up his body and threw it again against the upper floor window, breaking it. Then, he repeated the action, throwing Yuto against the window several times. Angered and at a disadvantage, Yuto used his supreme gravity to crush his enemy's body. Predicting this, Wisedroid simply dodged.

Yuto jumped towards him, trying to land any punch or kick he could. The android caught his hands and kicks before they could land on him. He swung Yuto's body towards the roof of the skyscraper, flying there shortly after. He used his crystal to fire an even larger laser, throwing Yuto against the building and destroying all the floors. The building collapsed.

Obviously, there were a lot of people inside. Apart from a few lucky or powerful ones, most of them died. Other people who were walking nearby also died. Wisedroid didn't seem to care about the casualties. Yuto wasn't much different. Although he didn't kill them directly, it was partly his fault. He didn't regret it, because that would be a weakness. Objectively speaking, he couldn't take any risks.

Yuto was lying in the rubble, trying to get up. Wisedroid separated his hand from his body and extended his reach, reaching for Yuto's leg. After successfully catching him, he swung him towards the city and released him. Nearly ten buildings were pierced through.

When he finally stopped in a square, the android fired countless missiles at him. Yuto protected himself at the last second with his barrier, but was seriously injured. A huge explosion occurred, basically destroying an entire city block. It wasn't as big and destructive as an atomic bomb, but it killed hundreds of people instantly.

— Tell me, what do you know about Tatsuya?

— Oh, him? You never gave me time to answer! We're just friends!

— You should be able to talk while you fight.

— And you should be able to read my fucking mind! I'm telling the truth, damn it!

Yuto had a weakness in his power: when he pushed it too far, his vision would become blurred. He was already at that point, where he could barely see anything.

Unfortunately, Yuto couldn't protect everyone within the blast radius. Many people had died, partly because of him, and he couldn't forgive himself. The only thing he could do was kill Wisedroid, who was the main assassin. He was about to fight seriously after a long time.

— He changed because of you. I need to know why you're special to him.

— Are you out of your fucking mind?! How many people do you have to kill to prove your goddamn point?

Yuto charged at Wisedroid with all his speed. He landed a series of punches and kicks fast enough that no human eye could follow. Since Wisedroid wasn't human, he managed to dodge all of the attacks without much difficulty.

— I need to show you that I'm serious, Yuto. Tatsuya must have had a reason for using his power.

He created several gravitational cylinders with a radius of 100 meters. He activated them instantly, destroying everything in the designated region.

Wisedroid dodged the attacks at the last second. After a long time, he fought with everything he had. He fired more atomic missiles, but Yuto returned them to Wisedroid, who fired them with the antimatter machine gun to explode them in the air.

Once again, he energized his blue crystal. Decreasing the firing time, he activated it in less than a second. Yuto, realizing that he couldn't return a laser of that size, used all his strength to throw himself to the side, where he wouldn't be hit.

The cone-shaped laser devastated everything that remained up to 7 kilometers ahead. The beam was much larger this time. The further it went, the more destruction. Once again, many innocent people died. Both were exhausted. One, from lack of energy; the other, from dripping blood and worn vision.

— And what the hell do I have to prove to you?!

— That you can be trusted. More than five years ago, an innocent girl was experimented on and turned into a monster.

— What do you know about Kataki?! Tell me, you maniac!

— You failed to protect her, Yuto. Are you going to backstab me and Tatsuya too?

— This logic doesn't even make sense! You could have asked me everything without causing a genocide!

— Tatsuya can revert everything back to normal when we're done. Don't worry about collateral damage.

— Then what the hell is his power?

Suddenly, Wisedroid saw something unusual on his interface: a bullet passing through Yuto's head. He watched the bullet's future trajectory, as well as Yuto falling dead to the ground. He couldn't see where the shot was coming from, as the shooter was out of range.

— It seems we were interrupted by outside forces. Someone other than me was after you.

Yuto didn't understand what he meant. Before he could react, a shot hit his head.

Ria was on the roof of a building 8 kilometers away from the battle. She had Yuto in her sights the entire time, but she waited for the fight to intensify to catch the two by surprise. She muttered:

— Sorry, Yuto, but I can't risk such a chance.

She aimed at Yuto's forehead.

She chose that building because it had a vantage point over most of the city and was beyond the reach of Wisedroid's power. The plan was for Yuto to not only distract Wisedroid, but himself as well. That way, Ria would catch them both by surprise.

The secret to killing Wisedroid that only a few people knew, including Ria, was the 7-second prediction limit. If something happened right after those 7 seconds, Wisedroid would let its guard down and stop using his power.

Rua loaded her carbine with an EMP round. It could disable all electronics within a 10-kilometer radius.

Shot.

Since the rifle was extremely powerful, Yuto couldn't dodge the bullet with his power. Even if he tried, he wasn't in a position to try any further.

Wisedroid approached Yuto's corpse, saying:

— You had more enemies than I thought. We could have been friends, but it is what it is.

As Ria watched the scene, she muttered:

— 10… 9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Zero.

The EMP bullet had a countdown to the explosion. Wisedroid didn't foresee anything dangerous for him when the bullet hit Yuto's head, so he deactivated his power.

An electromagnetic pulse went off. All electronics within a ten kilometer radius were disabled, including the androids. Genesis was in range at the time, so she was forcibly shut down. Wisedroid was no exception. Caught off guard, it took a few seconds for him to shut down completely.
