Seven Heroes Redux

Chapter 27: 4ll in

— Good job, Haji. I'm sorry for putting you through this.

— I'll never do this again, idiot! It's a special occasion, that's why...

— Thanks again. Bartender, can you protect her, please?

Yuto dropped a coin on the counter as payment.

— You didn't even have to ask! Leave that to me!

Yuto went to the broken window to see where Zenith fell.

Dammit, I almost won his love! I'll make whoever interrupted my date pay, I swear!

Zenith fell onto the top of a truck. She quickly got up to look at the broken window. Yuto soon saw her and jumped to kick her. She quickly jumped back, while Yuto landed on the truck. He looked at the card he stole.

So this is one of the cards Unizard talked about. Now I must have a chance.

Yuto hid the card inside his pocket and protected it with a simple gravity barrier. He landed on the street to see where Zenith was going to. He lost her. Suddenly, a car was launched at his direction. He ignored it, because it was too obvious and easy to be reflected. She came from behind quickly.

He used his power to erase her heart with his supreme gravity, but she dodged and landed a kick to his stomach. She smiled sadistically as her attack worked on him. He was launched kilometers away, breaking every building in the way. However, Zenith received the same attack and got pushed away, but didn't take much damage.

He stole my damage reflection card... that's bad, really bad. But I can take it again with my other card! I'll amuse you for a second.

She stood up and brushed off the debris.

— I still have no reason to kill you yet. Let's play, Ishikawa Yuto.

She smiled again, knowing she had full power over the battle. He defended himself with a barrier, but still suffered a lot of damage. As he rose from the rubble, he saw a building flying towards him. He dodged at the last second, but a skyscraper was also thrown at him.

As it was very close, he decided to hold it in the air but not destroy it as there could be people inside. Zenith pierced the entire building and punched him in the face. Yuto lost consciousness for a few seconds. When he woke up, Zenith was stepping on him.

— Long time no see, Yuto. You decided to spare the lives of useless people in that building. Where did that led you? Back to me.

He rose his hand to try something, but Zenith stepped harder.

— Looking for this?

Smiling, she held the damage reflection card in her hand.

— Hey, that's mine!

Zenith frowned in irritation. She stepped even harder on his back, almost breaking his ribs. Before she could say what she had in mind, Yuto saw a van coming towards him. Before it turned the other way, Yuto increased its speed exponentially, but protected the driver. It became so fast that Zenith was ran over, releasing the card again.

He got up and grabbed the card. She was already running towards him. He increased his sensory powers to know when she would arrive. He prepared a punch to the front and a kick to the back.

However, Zenith dived into the asphalt. Tremors began to destroy everything in the path. Yuto tried to sense the underground, but it was too late. A subway train destroyed the ground and sent Yuto into the sky. As the wagons were still flying, Zenith climbed through them and brought her fists together to punch him down.

I have to try. This is my only chance!

Yuto quickly reached into her other pockets and pulled out two of the remaining cards. Angry and desperate, she grabbed his neck with one hand and ripped off his arm holding one of the cards. She used so much force that her body went flying in a random direction, spinning as he went. She also received damage to her arm, but not enough to rip it off. She grabbed the card his severed arm was holding.

Yuto's body was thrown against a container at a port, pushing it several meters and smashing it. He quickly threw himself to the ground, surprised at the damage she had caused him so easily. At least now he had another card.

He protected his blood from leaving his body with his power. Zenith arrived quickly, landing like a superhero, which she kind of was, if you took out the "hero" part. She had a serious look on her face. But then, she thought of something and started laughing maniacally.

— Do you think this gives you ANY advantage, INSECT?! I am a GODDESS, and you are an ANT to me!

Suddenly, she started dancing on the spot. Bringing her arms in front of her face and slapping the air with her waist, she was clearly trying to show off. She pointed both her index fingers at Yuto, smiling like a psychopath.

— Those cards, they are MINE! I can take them WHENEVER I want! Do you know how? Like THIS!

She was about to snap her fingers when a powerful electric bullet hit her head, paralyzing her for a few seconds. Yuto sensed where it came from. Genesis was on the roof of a building, aiming a futuristic sniper rifle at her the whole time. She gave him a thumbs up, knowing he could feel her silhouette with his power.

Yuto took advantage of the time window and threw a container towards Zenith, who punched it just in time. They continued punching until it completely broke. Zenith attacked Yuto, who dodged at the last second. Out of nowhere, a huge cargo ship came flying towards him. He jumped into the sky, trying not to get distracted again. It destroyed the port and other buildings in its path.

In addition, many more containers flew towards the building where Genesis was, piercing it. Then, a skyscraper spun and was thrown, cutting the building in two. In the midst of all these explosions, Genesis jumped out of the building with a parachute.

Damnit! I thought she would come from behind again, not target Genesis! I could have saved so many people...

Not giving him time for remorse, she kicked him from behind, causing his body to pierce through many buildings again. When he reached the street, she was in front of him, preparing a very powerful punch. Much more powerful than any punch he had ever seen, besides her sister's.

He tried to stop her, when another bullet hit her neck, paralyzing her for a second. It wasn't electric, but it managed to penetrate her body. Yuto used a supreme gravity on her, which he dodged at the last second, seething with pure rage.

She pointed her palm at Yuto and fired a massive laser, obliterating the building behind him and hundreds of others, with a range of up to 20 kilometers. She spun her body to cause mass destruction everywhere, leveling the city. Yuto luckily dodged it, but he was terrified.

She began to scream uncontrollably, causing a storm of yellow lightning to cover the entire city. Wherever it struck, everything was instantly vaporized. Genesis was caught in one of the attacks, losing half of her body, but quickly recovering it with spare parts.

Zenith began running toward Genesis, knowing its exact position from her card. Wherever she ran, fire burned her path. She was moving at approximately 9000 km/h, more than five times the speed of Earth's rotation.

Yuto used his supreme gravity to reach her faster, stopping in front of her. Seeing everything in slow motion, she quickly took out her power copy card and tried to touch Yuto with it. He, however, predicted it and snatched it from her hand with gravity. Surprised and even more enraged, she prepared the punch from before in less than a second.

She hit Yuto in the stomach, erasing it immediately. Zenith received the same damage. Everything after him in a cone-shaped area of over 200 kilometers disappeared. The city was split from that part onwards, reaching other cities and dividing Japan.

However, he managed to snatch the last letter and held her body with his remaining strength. Both of them flew towards the association's main building, which wasn't completely destroyed because of the power-nullifying material. They were now inside a dark room, blown open by the punch.

The intensity of the attack was so great that he fainted. However, he was trained to use his power even while asleep! He subconsciously used his power to hold her to his body until he woke up. The cards were also trapped in his pockets, so she couldn't get out or retrieve them.

She began to panic. She tried to force her way out many times, without success. She had never felt so scared before.
