Chapter 13: Fractured Truths

The group decided to consult Seo Jin about the "tether" and its significance. As they walked back, Jin Soo pressed him for answers.

"The tether is a bond," Seo Jin explained. "It links the protector to the Shadow Realm. It gives you strength but also leaves you vulnerable."

Jin Soo frowned. "If I'm connected to them, doesn't that mean they can use it to manipulate me?"

"They will try," Seo Jin admitted. "But the tether also allows you to influence the shadows. It's a double-edged sword."

Back at their base, Min Jae suggested researching ancient texts to learn more about the tether and the previous warriors. Seo Jin hesitated but eventually led them to a hidden library in the outskirts of the city.

The library was a treasure trove of forgotten knowledge. Dusty tomes lined the shelves, their pages filled with arcane symbols and faded illustrations. As they searched, Eun Ha found a journal written by one of the former guardians.

"The tether is both my salvation and my curse," Eun Ha read aloud. "It binds me to the shadows, granting me power, but at the cost of my soul."

Jin Soo felt a chill. Was he destined to share the same fate?

Seo Jin placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Your light is stronger than theirs. Don't let fear dictate your path."

As they left the library, Jin Soo felt a renewed determination. He would master the tether, not let it master him.
