She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 666: Frozen Statues

If Ariel was slightly confused between the two men in her life before, she was now bewildered to her core after getting that confession from Damien.

Nothing had formally started between her and Kenneth. But she felt as though she was cheating on Kenneth right now. She felt as if she was doing something very bad.

Ariel's head hurt even more. She couldn't think about what was right and what was wrong anymore.

And she chose to disregard Damien's request on a whim. "Damien, how can I give chance to both of you? That's unfair on all three of us. One of us is bound to get hurt if I do that. Or all of us."

"But how will you know that Kenneth is the one right man for you if you don't even give me a chance? How will you know without comparing?" Damien asked again.

He was being very persistent and stubborn because he knew that if he gave way to Kenneth now, then he would lose Ariel for real, and forever. He definitely didn't want that for himself. He had tried living his life without Ariel once before. And it didn't go well for both him and Ariel. He did not want to repeat the same mistake again.

Ariel breathed in and out of her mouth. "I don't… I…" She sighed because she had no answer for Damien.

And rather than giving him an answer, she abruptly flopped down on her bed while turning towards the wall. She covered herself with the blanket. And she put off all the light sources in her room.

And Damien knitted his brows in tune and just kept on kneeling down.

He was confused if he was supposed to stay like that until she woke up, if he was allowed to go back to the chair, or if he now needed to find somewhere else to crash.

However, he was afraid to even breathe loudly. So, he kept on kneeling down like a statue.

He drooped his head in a dejected manner. He had no idea what Ariel was thinking at the moment. He wished that she had given him a definite answer. But, at the same time, he was glad that she didn't say anything just yet.

"It just means she is taking some time to think the matter over, isn't she?" Damien thought to himself and comforted himself by thinking that Ariel might agree with what he had said later.

After about half an hour, Damien was unable to feel his legs. And as he had not fully replenished his energy, he was feeling sleepy as well. He was dozing off right there on the floor. At one point, he almost fell to the floor. But he straightened himself and dozed off again.

Ariel, on the other hand, was just pretending to be asleep. Damien had said so many things to her and had confused her that she kept on thinking back to his every word and his every sentence. And the more she thought about it, the more chaos she felt in her heart.

After some more time, Ariel shifted her side as her hand started to get numb.

Her eyes widened when she saw Damien sleeping right where he was a while ago. She grabbed her hair and complained inwardly, "Ugh! What the hell is wrong with him? He could have slept on the chair."

She sat up and then frowned. She looked at him and thought, "He loves giving troubles to me, doesn't he?"

Ariel slowly lifted her palm, and with that, she lifted Damien in the air. She slowly pushed him with the help of air and placed him down on the chair. By using her hand gestures, she also lifted the blanket in the air and nicely covered Damien.

Damien was still deep in his sleep and didn't notice a thing.

Ariel rolled her eyes at him and then lay back down on the bed. She kept on looking at him for a while. But she abruptly closed her eyes when Damien moved a little.

Damien opened his eyes and felt disoriented for a few seconds. He looked at himself and wondered how he got there on the chair. He glanced at Ariel to find her facing him.

He smiled and closed his eyes again. "She didn't give an answer, but at least she didn't kick me out of the room. That should mean that I am not faring too badly, right?"

He opened his eyes to look at her again. And he thought to himself, "I hope she won't shut the door to her heart for me. I don't know what I will do without her."

---

After what felt like an hour, Ariel heard noises coming from outside her room. It sounded as if it was already morning and everyone else was awake.

Ariel scratched her head while still closing her eyes. And she mumbled to herself, "Did I sleep just for an hour or that is just how I am feeling? Either way, I don't want to wake up…" Enjoy more content from empire

She tried to get back to her sleep again. However, she felt as if her bladder would burst if she didn't wake up soon. She squirmed in her bed and groaned, "Ugh! How much water did I drink before sleeping yesterday?"

Ariel sat up with her eyes half-open. She yawned and stretched her hands. And then she slipped out of the bed and walked towards the bathroom door.

She tried unlocking the handle but it looked like it was jammed. So, she swooshed her palm and unlocked the door.

Ariel then pushed the door open while scratching her thighs and yawning again.

However, the moment her eyes fell on the bathtub which was directly visible from the door, it was as if time slowed down and froze.

Ariel turned into a weird statue – her hand plastered on her thigh while slightly lifting her gown, her eyes and jaw wide open, and her hair disheveled.

Damien, who was inside the bathtub, naked, was also in a similar state. His head turned towards Ariel, his eyes wide open, his nostrils flaring, his hands slowly moving to cover his important parts, and water splashing everywhere.

And as if the time suddenly resumed running at its pace again, both of them inhaled sharply and screamed at the top of their lungs.

Ariel swiftly turned on her heels and slammed the door of the bathroom with one swift motion of her hand.

She instantly crouched down on the floor and turned into a ball. And she cursed herself in her mind, "How the hell could I forget that I let him sleep here? And why the hell did I unlock the door forcefully? Now he is going to think that I am a degenerate woman!"
