Chapter 3: III. Are you a girl?
"Who are you?"
I can see the pain in his eyes, desperately asking for an answer.
I heaved a sigh and slowly took away his hand out of my arms.
"Sorry, I cannot give you the kind of answer you were looking for. I guess my name isn't what you've been trying to know but something you need to satisfy yourself and I'm sorry, I cannot do that."
I was about to take my leave but when I stretched my arms, I could feel a stinging pain and I saw small glasses in my arms that caused the wound. I hate seeing blood and can feel my stomach's not in good shape.
I closed my eyes and swallowed, I stomped my right foot and started walking while looking at my wounded arms not minding which road am I taking.
I heard a loud honk and when I lifted my head up, a blinding light came towards me.
Wait, am I dying just because of this small wound in my arm?
I felt a quick and strong pulling force from my left hand and a hard...chest in my face.
I can hear his heartbeat, I can smell his scent, I can hear his breath and I am wrapped in his biceps, and I... can feel my heart going crazy, I can feel my cheeks warming and I feel comfort in this stranger's arm.
He coughed so I pulled myself together and pushed him away from me and cleared my throat. I then felt the pain in my arms and I couldn't help but bite my lower lips. I hate being weak!
He grabbed my wrist and led me into a room that I didn't know, I am not good with directions, and if this man would do anything to me? I don't know how to go back.
We arrived at a small room and I liked the vibes, it gave peaceful vibes. He then took something from a drawer, took my arms, and looked at it as if he was observing something and then opened the box and started putting something in my arms, and pulling the fragments of the glasses.
My eyes are closed, I want to scream, I want to pull his hair, I want to curse him, it hurts but I can't even utter a word.
I slowly opened my eyes and I couldn't help but smirk because of this guy in front of me, I could feel him getting annoyed, maybe he was thinking why is he helping me when he had nothing to do with me but was now stuck in the rain with his coat in my shoulders and him trying to get the broken glasses from my wounds and for some reason, I feel comfortable talking to him and being vulnerable around him.
After he finished putting medicines in my arms and wrapped them up with bandages, he stood up and looked straight at me apathetically saying, "I hope not to see your face again."
My jaw dropped in astonishment and replied, "Alright, fine with me. I won't make an effort to cross paths with you either."
"Good. I don't need any more inconvenience in my life, especially from you."
I rolled my eyes in disbelief even tho I was sure he didn't see that because he was busy putting back the box to where he got those.
"Believe me, I feel the same way. Let's just go our separate ways and avoid any more encounters with each other. I don't want you meddling in my business. I have no intention of causing you any trouble. I just want to live my life without interruptions."
He suddenly left without even saying a word and I started panicking because I didn't know where am I and I didn't know how to get back home, besides it was dark outside and I was not familiar with the places and the streets.
I can't do anything, without Grandpa. He's been there with me all my life.
You can do it Kaesu! AJA!
I went out and tried to find out how to go back home safely and seems like it was a remote area with no one to call for help nor a taxi to take me home. I started walking the opposite way the guy earlier took, and after a couple of minutes, I saw a taxi coming my way and my heart was so happy and relieved that I waved at the taxi, smiling like an idiot.
I went inside and was about to say my address when the taxi driver spoke. "Are you a girl?"
"Y-yes?" What does he mean by his question? Should I take that as an insult?
"But the person who booked me was a guy, my apologies ma'am, I think I mistook you as a guy."
I flashed a quick smile to the taxi driver and he started the engine I looked back to see if he was still there but I saw no one.
Did he just book me a cab home?
I told the taxi driver my address and safely went home, I was about to open my door when I heard a scream from my back.
"Why are you soaking wet? Where have you been? It's late." I heard Alex asked.
I scoffed when I realized he sounded like a concerned mom, and I didn't know why he sounded like one when I didn't even have a mother and had never been taken care of a mother.
He swiftly put a blanket on my shoulder and worriedly opened the door for me led me to the couch and prepared something in the kitchen.
"feel at home huh?"
"Why can't I? We're friends?"
I smirked and replied, "And you still kept on insisting that."
"Why wouldn't I?" he replied raising an eyebrow at me.
"Why would you?" I asked raising an eyebrow at him too.
"Because I want to make you feel that you are not alone because you have me." He then again flashed a smile, but this time it was different from his usual big smile.
I cleared my throat and he went back to what he was doing.
"So where's Lara?"
"Oh! She has a place of her own and her father doesn't want her to buy places like this and let her live alone."
