Shut Up Dragon! I Don't Want To Have Children With You Anymore

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: The Dragon Queen’s Exquisite Display

'Even with all the effort she'd put into her appearance, a dragon trying to look beautiful was nothing but a façade.'

'Only the work of a dragon slayer is real.'

Leon heard the familiar click of high heels approaching as Rossweise entered the room, hand-in-hand with Luna.

"I put extra effort into getting ready today, Leon. Won't you at least sit up and take a look at me?"

'Careful, dragoness. Just yesterday, you would've happily taunted me to death. Now, with this meek, pleading act? You think I'll fall for it?'

'Pathetic!'

With an internal sigh, Leon reluctantly sat up. After all, Luna was there too—an innocent child caught up in all this. If they were going to maintain this "family," he had to play along.

Sitting up, Leon raised his gaze to the silver-haired beauty in front of him. His previously bored eyes suddenly brightened.

Rossweise had swapped her usual casual wear for a more formal gown.

Her dress cascaded in elegant layers, her jewelry was refined yet tasteful, and her silver hair was coiled at the back of her neck, exposing her swan-like neck and defined collarbones.

The dress was tailored to fit her perfectly, highlighting her curves in all the right places. Her chest wasn't overly provocative, nor was it modest. She was, in every way, exquisite.

"Daddy?"

"Daddy?"

"Daddy, you're staring at Mommy like you're entranced."

Luna's shout snapped Leon out of his daze. He shook his head, ready to brush it off with a dismissive comment. But, in all honesty, Rossweise did look stunning.

"Yeah… not bad." In the end, Leon grudgingly gave his assessment.

Simple and straightforward, it was just like all the compliments Rossweise had heard countless times before.

Beautiful, gorgeous, a rare beauty…

The same old, hollow words.

Rossweise gave a small, indifferent smile, instinctively grouping Leon with all those who had flattered her in the past.

"Alright."

She turned to leave, but Leon suddenly called out.

"Hey, hold on."

Rossweise paused and glanced back, "What is it?"

Leon quickly leaped from the bed, approaching her. He took her arm and led her to the mirror.

Caught off guard, Rossweise watched as Leon lifted a hand to gently tuck a stray silver strand behind her ear.

He then adjusted the angle of her silver crown slightly.

"When you walk, keep your head steady and try to turn from the waist. Otherwise, the crown might shift," Leon advised.

Rossweise's pupils contracted slightly as an inexplicable emotion stirred within her.

No one else, not a single soul who had praised her before, had ever bothered to notice such details or dared point out minor flaws.

And here she was, comparing this man to the rest of them...

"The neckline… it's a bit low… maybe…" Leon gestured vaguely at her chest, unsure if he should actually adjust it. [T/N: 😐suddenly he is a world-class designer]

"I see."

Rossweise tugged the neckline up herself. "How's this?"

Leon nodded. "Perfect."

Rossweise chuckled, "Didn't expect you to be so detail-oriented. How many other women have you helped dress?"

"I once nailed horseshoes on my master's donkeys when I was young. Got pretty good at it."

"..."

"Daddy, what's a donkey?" Luna tugged at Leon's sleeve, her big eyes filled with curiosity.

Leon glanced down at his daughter. "Donkeys are a lot like dragons, two ears, a tail, and they bray when they're mad."

"Really~?"

"Really—"

"Alright, Leon, focus on looking after Luna. Don't forget what I told you yesterday." Rossweise rolled her eyes at his nonsense before heading for the door.

"Goodbye, Mother! I'll be a good girl and listen to Daddy."

"Good."

With that, Rossweise left the room.

Luna wasted no time, eagerly tugging Leon back to the bedroom, climbing onto his lap as they sat on the bed.

Leon wanted to hold her properly, but he found himself hesitating. Usually, one would hold a child by the back or around the waist, but Luna's small tail made things tricky.

So, he just supported her gently from behind.

"Daddy, what really is a donkey?"

"Emm... a very stubborn animal."

"Stubborn… what does that mean?"

"Like your mom."

"Oh~ so Mommy is a stubborn donkey?"

The little dragoness was surprisingly quick on the uptake.

Leon was delighted. "Exactly, Luna. Mommy is a stubborn donkey! Say it again."

"Mommy is a stubborn donkey."

"Mm-hmm, that's right."

"Daddy's a stubborn donkey too. And Luna's a little stubborn donkey."

"...Sweetheart, you sure know how to pick things up quickly."

After Rossweise left, Leon washed up and set about keeping Luna entertained in their room.

Sometimes he'd teach her to read, other times they'd play dragon-rider games.

But, no matter how they changed things up, there was only so much they could do indoors, and Luna soon grew bored.

Since Leon wasn't the best at keeping kids entertained, he decided to read her some stories.

The two settled comfortably on the bed, Luna snuggling into Leon's arms as he opened "Little Dragon's Tales of Wonder."

"First story: How to Defeat an S-Class Danger Beast, the Armored Bison."

Leon blinked, staring at the title in disbelief.

'This is what counts as a children's story here?'

'Is this really how dragons educate their young? In the human world, this would be in the mission manual of a dragon-slaying academy.'

Deciding that perhaps the story was a bit much for Luna, he flipped to the next one.

"How to Use Advanced Fire Magic to Roast Perfect Smoked Meat."

Leon rolled his eyes.

'Advanced magic… for smoked meat?'

'Are they underestimating magic, or overestimating smoked meat?'

Sighing, he moved on to the third story.

"The Glorious History of the Dragon Clan."

Finally, a history story.

Despite his doubts about the "glorious" part, it seemed better than teaching a child how to hunt monsters or roast meat with magic.

"Dragons have survived throughout history thanks to the leadership of many great Dragon Kings. In this tale, we follow the story of the Red Dragon King, Constantine, who, centuries ago…"

As Leon read, Luna let out a little yawn, and he looked down.

The little dragoness was already half-asleep, her hand clutching Leon's shirt slowly loosening.

Leon set the book aside, gently placing her hand by her side and carefully tucking her in.

When a child falls asleep, it's a blessing for any parent.

Now Leon had some rare time to himself.

Walking out to the balcony, he gazed down at the courtyard below, noticing more guards stationed than usual.

It seemed they were preparing to welcome Rossweise's sister.

Had it been the old days, hearing that two dragon queens were gathering would've made Leon's eyes shine with excitement.

Two dragon queens were like two walking jackpots.

Too bad things had changed.

Forget attacking dragon queens—right now, even sparring with Luna would likely end with her batting her tail at him and saying, "Daddy, stop playing around. You're tickling my tail."

So what else could he do?

All he could do was wait until his strength gradually returned and then plan his next escape.

Yet, given Rossweise's "revenge schedule," Leon doubted he'd be able to get his strength back anytime soon.

Thinking of it left him grinding his teeth in frustration.

'Damn dragoness, I'll never submit to you.'

Even if he was physically drained, he'd find a way to mess with her.

He had everything planned out to make Rossweise's day an unforgettable social disaster.

He'd turn this so-called "family" of hers upside down.

Leon grabbed a small stool and took a seat on the balcony, waiting for the right moment.

As midday approached, the grand doors of the Silver Dragon Palace slowly opened, and Rossweise, escorted by a procession of maids, walked out toward the entrance.
