Shut Up Dragon! I Don't Want To Have Children With You Anymore

Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Knowing Each Other Better

"I really can't understand what women are thinking."

Leon muttered as he walked to the living room sofa and sat down.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom; presumably, Rossweise was also taking a bath.

This made Leon even more certain of his guess.

If he doesn't lose 100 grams tonight, it seems he won't be able to leave the house.

Leon repeatedly took deep breaths, trying to relax a little.

About ten minutes later, the bathroom door opened, and Rossweise walked out.

She was wearing a simple camisole nightdress, with the dragon pattern on her chest faintly visible. Her wet silver hair draped over her shoulders, and her evenly proportioned calves still emitted a faint mist.

Her skin was so smooth that water droplets couldn't stay on it, sliding down her cheeks to her chin before dripping onto her slender and straight collarbone.

Barefoot, Rossweise walked past Leon while drying her hair.

"Right on time. Oh, you've also taken a bath?"

Leon looked at the trail of wet footprints she left on the floor, blinked, and said nothing.

Rossweise poured a glass of water and handed it to Leon.

"Drink some water first while I finish drying my hair."

If she followed this with "How long have you been in this business?" it would be a killing move.

Leon silently picked up the glass and took a sip.

Moments later, Rossweise finished drying her hair, returned to the living room, stood in front of Leon, and placed her hands on her hips.

"Alright, let's get started. Where do you want it? The living room or... the balcony?"

Leon was stunned. "The balcony... isn't that a bit inappropriate?"

Rossweise shrugged. "What's inappropriate about it? No one can see us anyway."

Leon covered his face. "Well, if you're not afraid of embarrassment, then let's go to the balcony."

"Tch, what's so embarrassing? Let's just do it in the living room; it's the same anywhere."

As she spoke, Rossweise circled around the coffee table between them and sat down beside Leon.

Leon exhaled a long breath, closed his eyes, and leaned back on the sofa.

Actually, he wanted to punch himself so that when he opened his eyes, Rossweise had already taken care of it herself.

But after a while, Leon realized that nothing had happened.

All he heard was Rossweise's faint voice next to him. "What are you doing?"

Leon opened his eyes, sat up straight again, and said, "Ah? I... weren't you going to do that thing..."

Rossweise chuckled, looking at Leon playfully. "Oh, that thing? What exactly is that?"

Leon swallowed awkwardly. For a moment, he was at a loss for words.

Rossweise pulled out a thick set of test papers from under the coffee table.

"The assessments for family members at Saint Heath Academy are very strict and include compatibility test questions. We need to spend the next few days understanding each other better to ensure we can answer these questions and not affect Noah's admission evaluation."

She glanced at Leon, tapping her index finger lightly on the test cover, and enjoyed his bewildered and embarrassed expression with satisfaction.

"…Rossweise, you really are—"

This dragon woman must have deliberately led him to misunderstand, just to create this socially mortifying moment!

Rossweise narrowed her eyes slightly and said in a tone laced with disdain and mockery,

"Mr. Casmodeous, you're really desperate, huh~? But tonight isn't suitable. Let's save it for another day."

Rossweise did not mock Leon too much, after all, the urgent task at hand was to improve their mutual understanding.

Of course, not the kind of understanding in bed—Saint Heath Academy doesn't test for that.

"As for the family assessment, the rules are simple."

Rossweise began explaining the assessment method to Leon,

"The academy will prepare two sets of answer sheets, and the questions are all related to the other party's living habits, personality, experiences, and so on. One person first writes answers based on their own situation, then the other person fills in the answer sheet, and finally, they compare the answers. The higher the score, the better we understand each other."

Leon blinked, leaned back on the sofa, and flipped through the various test sheets in his hand.

"Sounds like a boring couple's compatibility game."

"I think it's boring too because I have absolutely no interest in your personal history or hobbies."

"Thanks, me neither."

Rossweise threw a pen to Leon, "But the family compatibility score is an important part of the assessment. The academy uses it to evaluate whether a family is harmonious. To ensure Noah can successfully enroll, we must deeply understand each other within these few days."

Leon bit the pen, "Using compatibility to determine if a family is harmonious... isn't that a bit... simplistic?"

Rossweise shrugged,

"The academy's tests aren't as simple as you think, like a basic couple's quiz. These tests contain a lot of professional psychological knowledge that can accurately analyze your hidden personality flaws. The academy believes that only families who understand each other's flaws yet still live together are truly harmonious."

Leon glanced at the test sheets in his hand and asked, "Then tell me, does a question like, 'What is your partner's favorite color?' count as a psychological test?"

"You never think, do you? Basic compatibility tests are also necessary." Rossweise silently covered her face.

Leon nodded, paused briefly, and asked, "Then, what's your favorite color?"

"Black."

Rossweise blurted out, then immediately asked back, "And yours?"

"Silver."

As soon as the words were spoken, the two seemed to realize something was off.

They looked at each other—

At each other's hair.

Black hair.

Silver hair.

The next second, in unison: "Coincidence."

The second after, in unison again: "Damn." [T/N: Lol]

The unlucky couple both turned their heads away, automatically skipping this topic.

Leon flipped through a few more test sheets and found that there were indeed questions related to psychology and personality.

Psychology wasn't Leon's strong suit;

Dragon psychology, even less so.

The only thing he knew was what a dragon's mindset was like when close to death—after all, he was quite skilled at dragon-slaying.

The couple studied the questions for a while. Rossweise picked up a blank answer sheet and started writing something on another piece of paper.

Moments later, she handed the answer sheet to Leon, saying, "Alright, try it out and see how many questions you can answer correctly about me."

Leon took the test and started answering.

"First question: What is a phrase your partner often says?"

Leon picked up the pen and wrote, "That's easy, it's obviously 'You idiot.'"

Rossweise silently held her forehead, "You idiot... don't say it out loud>"

"Second question: Has your partner ever been particularly disappointed in you about something?"

Leon's brows furrowed slightly. As he wrote the answer, he muttered, "Yes..."

"No." Rossweise suddenly spoke.

Leon froze, turning to look at her.

Rossweise lowered her eyes, fiddling with the tip of her tail.

She knew Leon was looking at her, but she still didn't lift her head, only repeating in a soft voice, "I... have never been disappointed in you about anything, Leon."

"Is it because... I'm not worth being disappointed in?"

Rossweise's movements paused. Then, shaking her head, she didn't answer directly but said, "This has nothing to do with the question. Keep answering."

Leon's thoughts stirred slightly, but he didn't press further.

For the next dozen or so questions, he didn't read his answers aloud, only writing them silently.

When he finished, he handed the answer sheet to Rossweise.

Rossweise compared the answers to what she had written earlier.

"How many points?" Leon asked.

"Forty-five."

Rossweise's expression turned serious. "Not a passing score."

Leon lowered his head, fingers fiddling with the pencil. After a moment of silence, he softly said, "Sorry."

"No need to apologize. If I were answering, my score might be even lower."

Saying this, she handed Leon another test and a blank sheet of paper. "Try this—write your answers on the blank sheet."

Leon nodded and began writing.

While Leon was answering, Rossweise carefully reviewed his previous answer sheet.

She found that all the questions Leon got correct were related to her daily habits.

Like her catchphrases, dominant hand, or how she liked to position her tail most comfortably.

But the ones he got wrong were mostly emotional questions, like "Have they ever been disappointed?"

These were things Leon could only guess if Rossweise told him directly.

Otherwise, considering the ups and downs between them and their daily interactions, it was impossible for him to get them right.

Rossweise wasn't someone who enjoyed sharing her thoughts with others.

She had grown used to keeping everything bottled up and slowly digesting it herself.

If she really couldn't bear it, she might write to her sister Isa for a casual chat.

Rossweise exhaled deeply, shook her head, and refocused.

Just in time, Leon handed her the completed test sheet.

Rossweise nodded, took it, and started answering the questions.

Once she finished, she gave it back to Leon for comparison, just as before.

"How much?"

"Fifty-eight."

Rossweise spread her hands, smiled, and said, "We still need more practice."

Looking at the test papers spread across the table, Leon pondered for a moment before saying, "We haven't spent enough time together, and our interactions aren't normal. So it's unlikely we'll score high in a short period."

"But there's no other way. For Noah's sake, we'll both work hard."

Whenever it involved their daughter, Rossweise always became like this—gentle, understanding, and reasonable, completely different from her usual proud and aloof silver dragon queen persona.

Leon knew very well that she loved their daughters deeply.

This was beyond doubt.

Before the next round of tests began, Leon couldn't help but ask,

"Rossweise."

"Hmm?"

"About that question earlier, about disappointment... Was your answer genuine?"

Rossweise turned to look at Leon, meeting his gaze, and replied firmly, with resolute sheen, "It was."
