Chapter 63: Chapter -63 The bet of"Doing Anything."
Chapter -63.
On his first night in the Northwest Central Courtyard, Ye Chen slept quite well until, just before dawn, a sudden knock at the door roused him from his dreams.
After donning his mask and robe, Ye Chen opened the door to find a nervous group of seven from Team Two standing before him, their faces showing clear trepidation.
"State your reason for waking me, or be prepared to take care of your other leg," Ye Chen warned, a flicker of anger sparking in his eyes. He really didn't appreciate being disturbed during his sleep.
"Captain, I'm sorry! We didn't intend to wake you," Zhang Ming said, dragging his injured leg as he stepped closer. "But it seems we need to leave the Central Courtyard."
"Why's that?"
Just then, a loud, arrogant voice came from outside: "Are you done packing? Hurry up, can't you move any faster?"
Zhang Ming immediately scowled at this, turning to say, "Just a moment! We're nearly finished, and our captain has just woken up."
"What nonsense about a captain? How dare you waste everyone's time? You've been expelled, so just get lost!"
No sooner had the words left the speaker's lips than a group of men clad in white with golden trim entered the courtyard, their leader being none other than Yu Tianheng, the most gifted genius from the Tiandou Royal Academy.
Zhang Ming couldn't help but smile wryly as they barged in, remembering how they had defended Ye Chen earlier against the principal; the irony of being thrown out the very next day was not lost on him.
"Expelled?"
Ye Chen frowned, realizing at once that he and the others were no longer part of the Royal Second Team but were now entirely under Qian Renxue's private Qianxue Battle Team, completely separated from the Royal Academy. He hadn't anticipated that Prince Xuexing would act so swiftly, coming to kick them out before dawn.
Ye Chen had been adamant about the battle team's allegiance to Qian Renxue for her own gain. If Qianxue managed to secure the championship or at least outperform the Tiandou main team, it would bring her prestige and admiration from the empire's citizens.
"Move it, move it! You dare betray the Royal Academy? When you stumble your way into the finals, I'll make sure to beat you back to reality. But with a bunch of losers who can't even make the main team, you probably don't even know what it's like to be in the finals!"
A scrawny man stepped forward from behind Yu Tianheng, urging Zhang Ming and his team to hurry along.
His words ignited fury within Zhang Ming and the others, who, had they not been injured, would have been eager to retaliate.
At that moment, a flash of red light cut through the air as a blood-colored dagger soared toward the scrawny man's chest.
"Ah! Captain, help me!"
Seeing the dagger racing toward him, the scrawny man froze, terrified and unable to defend himself. He ended up sitting down, wetting his pants out of fear, uncertain of whether he had really soiled himself.
Meanwhile, Yu Tianheng's expression shifted dramatically as he yelled, "Dragon Transformation!" In a heartbeat, his left hand morphed into a thick dragon claw, effectively blocking the blood-colored dagger. A splash of bright red blood burst forth, and the dagger came to a halt before vanishing into thin air.
Watching this unfold, Zhang Ming and the others couldn't help but glance at Ye Chen, secretly thrilled. Their captain's strength was exceptional, ranking among the very best in academies across the continent. Following him could indeed lead them to avenge today's humiliation against the Royal Battle Team.
"Let's go; they clearly don't want us here. There's no point in sticking around."
With that, Ye Chen took the lead out of the Northwest Central Courtyard, and Zhang Ming and the others followed, heads held high. The fear they had seen in Yu Tianheng's eyes was now replaced by a renewed sense of pride.
"Captain, are we really just going to let this slide?"
The scrawny man regained his composure and looked furious, but Yu Tianheng ignored him, merely glancing at the blood trickling from his dragon claw and commenting, "The new captain of the Qianxue Battle Team is something else."
As they exited the Royal Academy, the sky was taking on a dim light. Zhang Ming and his team carried their bags closely behind Ye Chen, their faces glowing with excitement.
They had always felt like mere 'punching bags' in front of the main team, but now, with their new powerful captain, their fortunes seemed to be shifting.
"Captain, should we seek out Prince Qinghe?"
Noticing Ye Chen pause, Zhang Ming couldn't help but ask.
"You all go ahead; I still have something to take care of."
Ye Chen glanced ahead before striding off in another direction by himself.
In no time, he arrived at an iron gate of the academy, marked by a distinctive diamond-shaped blue emblem adorned with a double-winged dragon overhead.
"Are you here to apply for admission?"
"No, I'm here to see your dean."
"Looking for our dean? Then please hold on."
The academy guard regarded Ye Chen warmly before darting into the academy. Moments later, a graceful figure approached swiftly.
This newcomer had long hair cascading over her shoulders and was dressed in fitted black attire. Her form was enticingly outlined, highlighted by silver-white armor on her shoulders and chest, which revealed ample, stunning skin.
As they stood before the academy, Liu Erlong couldn't help but notice Ye Chen's masked appearance and commented, "You've got decent talent. Interested in joining the Blue Tyrant Academy? I could make an exception and admit you without the entrance exam."
Hearing this, Ye Chen nodded but then shook his head, saying, "I could, but I don't think it's necessary."
Curiosity sparked in Liu Erlong's expression, and she opened her mouth to respond but was cut off by Ye Chen, who challenged, "Let's make a bet. I bet none of the students here can match me."
"Interesting, what's the wager?"
"You!"
"Ah?"
Taken aback, Liu Erlong blinked as Ye Chen clarified, "If you win, everything in this storage ring is yours. If I win, you have to agree to one thing for me."
Upon receiving the storage ring Ye Chen tossed her way, Liu Erlong focused her spiritual power to check its contents, her eyes widening in shock.
Inside were numerous rare treasures, far surpassing even the assets of the Blue Electric Tyrannosaurus family she knew. If she controlled this wealth, the Blue Tyrant Academy would eclipse the Royal Academy of Tiandou in status, becoming the top academy in the empire.
Faced with such a tempting proposition, Liu Erlong felt parched but smiled, "Alright, if you manage to defeat everyone from the Blue Tyrant Academy, I promise I will do whatever you ask."
She gestured for him to follow, and Ye Chen trailed her into the academy square. Soon, a voice resounded throughout the Blue Tyrant Academy: "All senior students, gather at the martial arts square immediately. A bold new challenger is here!"
No sooner had the announcement finished when several students came rushing in. Liu Erlong pointed to Ye Chen, and they immediately understood he was the one issuing the challenge.
"My name is Chen Liang; I look forward to your guidance."
A tall, muscular man brimming with around level 30 soul power stepped up, hands clasped, and gave a friendly smile.
Without hesitation, Ye Chen summoned the disguised Abyss of Demons, waving it carelessly. A flash of blood-red light shot through the air as the sturdy man was sent flying several meters back without even summoning his martial spirit, coughing up blood.
"Next."
After defeating one challenger, Ye Chen stood confidently at the center of the square, blood-red daggers swirling around him.
This sight made Liu Erlong chuckle softly, "Not bad; he's really got some skill. Yet…" she mused internally, her form swaying alluringly.
"I, Yang Chu, come to challenge."
Another student jumped forward, wielding a silver spear, and charged at Ye Chen.
His speed was decent, but Ye Chen was much faster. The blood-red dagger let out a faint whistle, and in an instant, it pierced through the challenger's shoulder, splattering blood across the stone square.
"Next."
Ye Chen's calm voice resonated with immense pressure. Yet another defeated challenger stepped forward to issue their challenge.
"I'm Li Bi, here to challenge."
Before Li Bi could finish, Ye Chen called, "Next!" And with a swift motion, a blood light flashed, pinning him by the throat with the Abyss of Demons, rendering him immobile.
"I, Chen Mie, challenge."
"Next!"
"I, Hu Shang, challenge."
"Next!"
"I, Tai Long..."
"Next!"
"I'm..."
"Next!"
"Next!"
"Next!"
Before a dozen students could even announce their names, they were bested by Ye Chen and ended up groaning on the ground.
The onlookers gaped in disbelief.
"Chen Mie and Tai Long are genius students at our academy, how can this be happening?"
"This is unbelievable; one person has just vanquished the seniors in an instant. Is he even human? A demon, perhaps?"
"This guy is incredibly strong, truly terrifying."
In just a few minutes, the academy square lay strewn with students groaning in defeat, until at last, the final senior stepped up, only to be conquered in the same manner. The Abyss of Demons dagger gently returned to Ye Chen's side.
"You've lost!"
Ye Chen smiled at Liu Erlong, who had been observing intently from the sidelines. The skill level of the Blue Tyrant Academy students was surprisingly average; he felt he hadn't even broken a sweat, and it was a rather unsatisfying end.
"Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the Goddess Sign-in Task. Reward: 300% favorability with Liu Erlong and the ability to choose a soul ring with a limit of 100,000 years."
Just as the system notification chimed, Liu Erlong's voice rang out, "Hold on, you haven't won yet because you still need to defeat me." With that, she summoned a massive mutated martial soul—a fire dragon—and fixed her intense gaze on Ye Chen.
"Are you trying to pull a fast one?"
Ye Chen couldn't help but feel a bit exasperated, but Liu Erlong flashed him a charming smile: "As the dean of the leading academy, how could I cheat? Remember, I said if you could defeat everyone from the Blue Tyrant Academy, I'd agree to anything you ask."
Realizing he had been outwitted, Ye Chen felt a mix of anger and amusement.
"You…" His frustration left him momentarily speechless, but then he turned it around, grinning. "Alright, just one more match. But if I win again, I want the dean to experience my 'firepower output' properly—after all, you did say you'd agree to anything I ask."
"You little rascal, what nonsense are you spouting?"
Seeing the aggressive glint in Ye Chen's eyes as he licked his lips, Liu Erlong suddenly felt her cheeks flush. Even after all her years of life, she had never encountered such a situation, leaving her feeling uncertain.
Note : Guys, some power stones will be really helpful.
