Chapter 13: Chapter 13- I need this person!
"Why are you here?"
After Jin-Woo returned from the red gate, the first thing he did was to check on the person unexpectedly present on the rooftop of his apartment, late at this hour.
Jin-Woo's current temperament was not as calm as before and Haru could already see the mana fluctuation the soon-to-be shadow monarch was having. Even his shadow was elongating under the faint sunlight which already has begun glimmering over the surface.
"I am here for Jinah, who else."
Jin-Woo's eyes began flickering with chilly blue radiance and his demeanor grew even colder as each second passed. If anything was stopping Jin-Woo at the moment was the reason for what Song-Yi had told about Haru back in the dungeon.
Haru was really excited to know how it would feel like fighting something proper after a long time since after reincarnating at this place he was feeling like a cheat existence. Unlike in the goddess domain where even a passing trainer beat up his ass, now Haru had no problem dealing with anything he came across.
To have an all-out battle with Jin-Woo when he already has acquired his job and also had a brilliant knight named Igrit with him, would be a true delight. But for now, Haru held back and didn't push the protective brother more than necessary.
"She's not well, after what she saw."
Trailing off his words, Haru turned abort before leaning his elbows on the railing, enjoying the breeze of early morning, and taking a good look at the current scenery of the sunrise.
Jin-Woo frowned upon hearing the content before he walked forward, dropping his intent in the process as he urged Haru for an explanation.
"What do you mean by that?"
"It's just..."
Haru narrated everything in a summary including the dungeon break, how hunters had fallen dead, and how Jinah seemed slightly traumatized which caused the reason for him to stay back. He didn't hide the fact that he killed the wolf and healed the almost-dead hunters since Haru knew, Jin-Woo would get to know about this incident from his sources.
Jin-Woo stayed silent throughout the way, trying to find if Haru had any kind of lie hidden behind his words but Jin-Woo felt nothing out of order and Haru's voice never wavered when he recalled the incident.
"She said...in those hunters, she saw you. And I think it was the main reason why Jinah looked so terrified at that moment."
Clenching his fist in annoyance toward himself, Haru thought back to that instance when he saw that horrified expression on Jinah's face. He really shouldn't have taken her there.
As for Jin-Woo, then his gaze dropped downwards for a moment, seemingly thinking about how severe the impact his previous self has done on Jinah. He always tried to push Jinah away from the world he lives in and let her enjoy a peaceful and normal life which she deserved. But alas, it seemed he failed.
Walking forward Jin-Woo leaned forward before resting his arms on the railing as well, as he sensed the growing frustration from Haru which Jin-Woo took as a positive sign. And also the fact that this boy stayed here to look after Jinah says more than he could ever have asked someone about him.
"So you are awakened? What rank you were evaluated in?"
Haru sighed before replying to the same thing he has done to various people in the past.
"I never got evaluated since I previously decided to pursue my goal and live a happy normal life. But now...I am having other thoughts. "
It was given that Haru couldn't sit idly and let the plot progress. He had to move and alter those things which could become the reasons for Jin-Woo's guilt and push him to use the cup of reincarnation.
And for that, he needed to get in connections with some prominent people. And getting evaluated would be the first step toward his goal.
Jin-Woo remained silent for some time as he pondered something before turning toward Haru with a proposal.
"What are you doing tomorrow?"
****
"You know I really get very few days when I get opportunities to wake up late. Yet you Mi-Soon, taking me to some dungeon sight on weekend."
Sitting in the back seat of the car, a slick orange-haired man spoke in between his yawn, plainly not in a good mood after being woken up by a colleague on Sunday morning to see a recent Dungeon break site.
The man was none other than the chief inspector of the Korean Hunter Association, Woo Jinchul.
"It's so important for you to know about this person sir that I was not able to hold myself. Can you imagine, a healer-class hunter was able to kill a C-rank monster in a single blow? I know it might sound absurd but that's what the raid team has reported and also the nearby confirmed that some heaven-shattering tremors spread at the exact time when all the raiders were at the site, admiring the prowess of this mysterious hunter."
Woo Jinchul was indeed surprised to hear that someone having a Healing attribute could even one-hit kill a C-rank monster when the most healer has the job to stay on the back line and support the raid team and get protection from them in case of a threat.
A healer is the most important yet most delicate component of a team.
"I tried to track him but all failed, that's why I contact you, senior. I have a feeling that this person would prove incredibly useful for the next Jeju Island raid."
Jinchul frowned slightly since the case related to Jeju-do was crucial and painful for Korean history. And since his trusted subordinate was speaking in favor to the point of connecting this mysterious hunter to the potential next mission on Jeju Island...meant that this matter was really something to look into.
"I understand you are eager for me to investigate this person, which I would surely do, but where are you taking me right now?"
Jinchul asked in perplexion since whatever Mi-Soo said until now was nothing relatable to the reason why he came to wake up Jinchul this early in the morning.
But soon his doubt got cleared when the car came to a halt.
"I wanted to show you this..."
Jinchul's eyes widened upon seeing the still taped site of the previous baffle zone but that was not the focal point at all.
"What the..."
Slow mutters left the chief inspector's lips as he got out of the car with his eyes still slightly wide apart as he approached the place where the recent dungeon break occurred.
What appeared there was a wide crater of almost four meters in diameter with a huge gap in the middle of the concrete which was small as a human fist signifying the impact which the punch left.
Mi-Soo was delighted to see the reaction of Woo Jinchul but soon his excitement faded as suddenly the man turned toward him with a frown as he commanded in a severe tone.
"I need this man, Min-Soo, by evening."
