Chapter : God or Doctor

What did God do? Is He seeing all this? Where is He? Do we need God or Doctors are the ones that we need? Why should we pray when He is not listening to us? Where is He when we need Him? Isn't it the right time to turn our back against God? God can do nothing to protect us.

These are the few questions and statements raised by everyone and spread throughout social media now a days. But what if I tell you we need both. Yes. You heard it right, we need both God and Doctors.

Once there was a great flood. Gates of heaven were wide open and rain poured down. Eventually lake and land both levelled alike. People prayed to save them from this calamity but it went on. Few days later as water began to flood through their threshold, everyone began to retreat. But there was this one person who said no to everything as he believed that God will save him from this disaster. 'Hey, you should also pack your stuff. We have a boat ready…you can as well join.' his neighbour said as they were getting ready to flee. But he declined the offer 'God will help me'

Water level increased and he had to climb up the roof to protect himself. Then came a helicopter. Putting down a rope ladder they asked him to climb on board. But he declined by repeating the same statement that he said to his neighbour. Eventually he was overpowered by the flood and died.

He roared at God with all his might and anger 'I waited for you…I believed in you…. but you never came to rescue me.' Getting up from the throne, God came to stand beside him 'I came to help you…. I sent your neighbour to save you…. I even sent a helicopter for you rescue but you declined them all…'

You might have heard or read different versions of this story via many sources. But the basic concept of this story remains the same every time that is God will always be there to protect, safeguard and strengthen you. But not always by himself. Sometimes he sends his Angels to us. But we should understand and accept it. He was not able to understand that it was God who was trying to help him.

Now you might ask that what this story has to do with the present situation. Well it has. We are in the middle of a crisis and we all might have raised our hand for help initially and later might have lost hope that we would be saved. My question is, why can't we think it in the other way around. Why can't we consider the Doctors, Nurses, Medical Staff, Police and other government employees who are risking their lives for us during this crisis as the Angels send by the Almighty himself? Well, they are truly Angels and like the man stuck in flood we shouldn't ignore their hand. Take their hand and help them to help you by staying indoor and by doing proper practices suggested by them.

Let's obey the authorities and pray to the Almighty to strengthen his Angels and us to face this crisis. Because God is always their watching us, strengthening us, protecting and safeguarding us. We should never lose hope and faith as He will never let us stray away from His sight.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)
