Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Vanished Child of Fate
Divine Realm.
The clouds shifted endlessly, at times resembling turbulent waves, and at others, a serene beauty. Dense heaven and earth essence lingered in the mist, imbuing the illusory space with a strangely captivating, tangible presence.
In the distance, a majestic palace loomed, cloaked in a faint golden glow under the light that bathed it. At the palace entrance stood a man. His long, water-blue hair cascaded like a waterfall, reaching the ground. His elegant blue robe seemed to ripple like water, and his gaze was profoundly deep, appearing vacant yet encompassing all.
This man was none other than the illustrious Sea God and Asura God, the divine king himself, Tang San.
At that moment, the divine king was standing at the entrance of the Sea God's Palace, holding a blue sphere of light. A faint but imposing expression crossed his brows as he pondered his next steps in collecting the power of human faith from the planets below.
Suddenly, a massive golden pillar of light, as thick as two men, shot up from a certain planet below, piercing the sky.
Staring gravely at this pillar of golden light, Tang San inhaled sharply, murmuring, "A new star has risen. The Douluo Continent is about to undergo a profound transformation."
"A child of fate… If I don't claim him under my influence, it might not only jeopardize the future of the Divine Realm but may also ruin my thousand-year grand plan. But how should I draw him in?"
Pondering this, Tang San touched his chin, a strange smile appearing on his lips. In a flash, he returned to the inner sanctum of the Sea God's Palace, taking his place on the high throne. The hall was cloaked in shadows, with only the brilliant golden trident symbol on his forehead casting light.
"Little Seven always seems interested whenever I discuss matters of the Douluo Continent with Xiao Wu. Perhaps I should send her down to forge a connection with this new star. But how to arrange it so it doesn't seem too contrived?"
"Ah, I have it! I'll split Little Seven's soul in two—one half to connect with the new star and the other for… In this way, not only can I draw in this child of fate, but I can also capture the luck of the soul beasts of Douluo Continent. A perfect twofold scheme, haha!"
Suddenly, the grand doors of the Sea God's Palace opened slowly, allowing a faint stream of light to seep in. Tang San sat high upon his throne, enshrouded in darkness, with only his divine eyes and the golden trident symbol on his forehead gleaming.
"Brother." A soft voice sounded, and a figure clothed in pink stepped through the doors, approaching Tang San's side.
She wore a pink gown, her long hair braided into a scorpion-tail plait draped gently down her back. From the side, her slender, elegant neck was clearly visible, accentuated by the gown's delicate fit.
This was none other than Tang San's wife, Xiao Wu, who also served as the scabbard of the Asura God's sword.
"Is Little Seven asleep?" Upon seeing her, a trace of helpless affection appeared on Tang San's face.
"Yes." Xiao Wu nodded, naturally linking her arm with Tang San's. "Brother, I saw you looking serious just now. Was it about the Douluo Continent again?"
Tang San sighed softly, a faint sadness appearing between his brows. "One day in the Divine Realm is a year in the mortal realm. When I left, I wanted to spend more time on Douluo Continent. But due to a wager with the Kindness and Evil God Kings, I had to return to preside over the realm."
"Yet… twenty years have passed here in the Divine Realm, and it's been ten thousand years on Douluo Continent. The Tang Sect has already withered away." Xiao Wu's eyes flashed with indignation. "Those two are too cunning, using that wager as an excuse to roam the mortal realm. Four thousand years ago, when that tectonic shift brought the continents together, Douluo's area doubled, and new variables emerged."
Rising from his throne with a righteous demeanor, Tang San declared solemnly, "Since I returned to the Divine Realm, I can no longer intervene in the mortal world directly. I can only observe, witnessing Douluo's centuries of change."
"Four thousand years ago, the Sun Moon Continent from the west collided with Douluo due to continental drift. The Sun Moon Empire on that continent waged war against the nations of the original Douluo Continent. Armed with Tang Sect's hidden weapons, the allied forces were ultimately overwhelmed by the Sun Moon Empire, leading to the slow decline of the Tang Sect."
"A thousand years ago, Douluo Continent had only two empires, the Heaven Dou Empire and the Star Luo Empire. But now, ten thousand years later, it's divided into four empires, each embroiled in conflict."
"This time, I discovered a new star rising on Douluo Continent. As the creator of the Tang Sect, I can't bear to see it fall. Perhaps I should have this star help the Tang Sect rise again…"
Xiao Wu's eyes lit up. "That would be wonderful! And if he can one day ascend to the Divine Realm and take over your position, we could roam freely together."
"You, always thinking of play." Tang San chuckled, lightly brushing her nose. But just then, his expression suddenly darkened, becoming severe.
"What's going on? Why has that star vanished?" He had been preparing to arrange the fate of this child of destiny, to bring him into his fold, but to his horror, he could no longer sense the presence of the star, as if he had never existed on Douluo Continent.
"Could it be an intruder from another plane? Like… what happened with me?" His plan in ruins, Tang San's face twisted in rage, his breathing heavy, his expression growing ferocious. "Who dares destroy my thousand-year scheme? If I find you… hmph!"
Meanwhile, on the Douluo Continent, a simple, black, ancient ring that had slipped through a spatial passage emitted a cold, pale light.
---
Douluo Continent, Star Luo Empire, Imperial City.
A grand palace-like structure towered above, its golden tiles shimmering under the sunlight. From afar, it had an air of antiquity. A grand archway bore the inscription "Duke's Manor" in bold characters.
The sun was high, and its rays shone through the clouds onto the golden roof of the manor, casting a dazzling glow over the entire estate.
In a quiet room, illuminated by fragments of sunlight seeping through the window, a young man clad in a black robe sat cross-legged on the bed. His features were refined, his frame tall and slender, with flowing black hair. His hands formed a peculiar seal before his chest, eyes shut, his breathing calm and strong.
"Damn it. Even after arriving in this world, it's the same as before… My cultivation speed in Dou Qi is far beyond what it was, yet I still can't condense it within my body."
