Soul Land:The Dragon King's God of Nature

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The Second Spirit—God-Slaying Spear of the End

Na'er was terrified as the vines suddenly appeared, binding her tightly. She began to cry out, pleading for Jing Shaoyu to help her.

However, as Na'er begged for help, she noticed the mischievous grin on Jing Shaoyu's face, and realization dawned on her. Her tears quickly turned to a pout as she angrily called out, "Big Brother, you're mean! Let me down, or I'll never speak to you again!"

With that, she turned her head away from him, presenting only her profile.

"Will you really ignore me, Na'er?" Jing Shaoyu approached her, wrapping his arms around the vine-bound girl and chuckling. "Then I suppose I'll have to punish you!"

With a mischievous smile, he controlled the vines to lift Na'er slightly. Standing behind her, he gently removed her shoes, exposing her soft, fair feet.

"No, Big Brother, don't!" Na'er seemed to sense what he was planning, quickly pleading, "I'm not mad anymore! Don't punish me!"

"Nope!" Jing Shaoyu refused with a grin. Holding her tiny foot, he picked a soft leaf from the vine and began lightly tickling her sole.

"Ah! No—haha—it tickles—stop—Brother! I'm sorry—please stop!" Na'er couldn't help but laugh uncontrollably, her body wriggling as she tried to escape. Her feet were incredibly sensitive, and Jing Shaoyu always used this trick when she sulked, making her obedient again.

It was an effective method, and today was no exception. Seeing her relent, Jing Shaoyu finally stopped and released the vines, allowing Na'er to fall gently into his arms.

"Think twice before ignoring me again!" Jing Shaoyu said, laughing as he held her on the swing.

"I won't, I won't!" Na'er panted as she nestled into his embrace, flashing an obedient smile.

The ability to control plants was an inherent talent granted by the Crown of Nature, an integral part of his Primordial Elf spirit. If he could fully develop this skill, he might one day control plant-type soul beasts or even manipulate plant-type spirits. In such a case, any plant-based Spirit Master would be at a disadvantage against him.

Of course, for now, controlling a few vines to bind someone was his limit.

As for the other abilities of his Primordial Elf spirit, they hadn't manifested yet due to his current strength, but he had a strong feeling that it held far more potential than it seemed.

That evening, Jing Ziyuan returned from the city.

"A-Yu, we're going to the Spirit Pagoda in East Sea City with the city official tomorrow to choose your soul spirit. Do you have any preferences?" she asked him.

"Huh?" Jing Shaoyu blinked, then asked, "Why East Sea City?"

"It was the official's suggestion," Jing Ziyuan explained with a grateful smile. "After he learned about your innate full soul power, he decided to promote me. With that, I'll have more resources to choose a higher-quality soul spirit for you."

"Also, he wants you to meet the lord of East Sea City. There's a policy there for Spirit Masters with innate full soul power—supposedly, it offers generous rewards to those with such talent."

"I see. That makes sense," Jing Shaoyu nodded. It was only natural—innate full soul power was rare, and any ruler would consider investing in such talent, even if only to establish goodwill.

"So, do you have any thoughts about your soul spirit?" Jing Ziyuan asked, a bit concerned. "The official said it's best to choose a soul spirit that complements your spirit's traits. Do you know what your spirit's attributes are? If you're unsure, we can consult with the official tomorrow. He's a Spirit Elder with four rings."

"Yes, I know!" Jing Shaoyu responded confidently. "My spirit is likely a healing type."

"Alright, but let's have the official confirm tomorrow, just to be safe." Jing Ziyuan nodded, deep in thought.

"Sure," Jing Shaoyu replied, understanding her caution.

After dinner, Jing Shaoyu prepared for his first solo bath. He was grateful Jing Ziyuan encouraged his independence, sparing him the embarrassment his memories might have caused otherwise.

Standing alone in the bathroom, he took a deep breath, a look of determination on his face, and summoned his second spirit. A dark spear appeared in his hand, as black as the night, engraved with eerie runes, with a blade like a comet and a shaft ending in a spiked butt. The entire weapon exuded a chilling, murderous aura.

The moment it appeared, Jing Shaoyu was consumed by a violent urge for blood and destruction. His body started to move as if possessed, and only a sudden wave of coolness in his chest allowed him to regain control.

The God-Slaying Spear of the End!

The name of his second spirit flashed through his mind, and he looked at the dark spear in his hand, both excited and wary.

The God-Slaying Spear of the End was a weapon brimming with the power of slaughter and devastation—a terrifying weapon of chaos, embodying nature's wrath and fury, with the power to destroy everything in its path.

Only now did he fully understand the origin of both his Primordial Elf spirit and the God-Slaying Spear of the End.

They were gifts from the planet's very nature. As to why he'd been chosen to receive such gifts, he wasn't entirely sure—perhaps it was a reward for being a transmigrator?

The Primordial Elf spirit symbolized nature's gentleness and kindness, hence its healing abilities, while the God-Slaying Spear of the End represented nature's rage and cruelty, with a focus on destruction and immense attack power.

"Whew… hahaha!" Jing Shaoyu dismissed the spear, and the menacing aura filling the bathroom vanished. He smiled with satisfaction. "The God-Slaying Spear of the End… One day, it will live up to its name!"

After his bath, Jing Shaoyu returned to his room. Not long after, Jing Ziyuan came in.

"A-Yu, since you've awakened your spirit and soul power, you can start practicing meditation tonight," she said.

"Great! Teach me, Mom!" Jing Shaoyu's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Of course, that's why I came." Jing Ziyuan smiled lovingly, sitting beside him and guiding him through the basics of meditation.

Though Jing Ziyuan's spirit power was below Level 15, she was more than capable of teaching him the basics of meditation. Her steady progress from Level 1 to 14 with her Blue Silver Grass spirit was proof of her solid foundation.

Jing Shaoyu learned quickly, entering a meditative state on his first try. Seeing this, Jing Ziyuan's face softened with pride, and she quietly left the room. She also gently intercepted Na'er, who had just finished her bath and was eagerly running toward Jing Shaoyu's bedroom.

"Mom, why? I want to be with Big Brother!" Na'er protested, kicking and squirming as Jing Ziyuan tucked her under her arm.

"No, tonight you'll sleep with me. Your brother is training tonight, so you can't disturb him!" Jing Ziyuan insisted.

Na'er pouted, her large eyes full of reluctance, as Jing Ziyuan carried her off to bed. Just before she entered her own room, she glanced wistfully toward Jing Shaoyu's door, hoping he'd come out to take her with him.But by then, Jing Shaoyu was fully immersed in his training, oblivious to everything else.
