Chapter 15: The First Conquest
Myrym was groaning in a dizzy pain as she saw Nasiah run towards the base. She squinted her eyes even more due to the fact that there was another man beside him other than Forenus.
Forcas, on the other hand, was already waiting outside; cured from her hangover, she bowed at the sight of her master once he approached.
Nasiah stopped in front of the she-wolf, waving his hand. "Good morning. Are you okay now?"
Forcas let out a laugh and patted his head. "Yup, and heh look at that, found yourself a master in the arcane arts?"
Musa gave her a nod and bowed. "I am Musa, a Sage of the Aetree. I have come to train and oversee Nasiah in his gifts in Magick."
Myrym overheard their conversation. She opened the door and looked at the young, dark-skinned, and blind sage. She knew they were wise and held sacred knowledge, but what mattered was if he had another agenda with Nasiah.
"What were his gifts in Magick?"
Musa turned to Myrym's voice and bowed. "You must be his mother. Your son was fully born with Magick and can manipulate any instance of it. If it's alright to ask, may I become his teacher in this subject?"
Nasiah gave a nod. "Yeah, he's helping me with stuff like this!"
He focused his vision on a grey string with the Name 'Gravity' around it. He gave it a tug while he jumped in the air, causing him to glide around gently.
Myrym clapped her hands together and hugged her son. She truly was blessed with an amazing child. "Thank you, Musa, for your support. I would gladly have you as his teacher."
She still knew that she needed to watch over Nasiah. He needed to be protected against everyone here.
Forenus looked to the west. "We're going to be training you in your powers and with more battle experiences. We will head back to the battlefields, and this time, you will be the one fighting."
Nasiah nodded his head. "Alright, I will show you why I'm the king of this land. I will make sure they see it, too!"
Myrym patted her son's head. "Get your suit now to help."
She then ushered him back into her building while whispering to his ear. "And remember, don't kill anyone."
After a few minutes, Nasiah returned in his disguise beside his mother. "I'm ready!"
Forenus just turned his back on them, beckoning them to follow before running off into the west alongside Forcas and Musa.
Nasiah picked his mother up and followed suit into the desert once more.
----------
After a few minutes of traveling, they came across a battle upon a bridge over a river. There, they found a group of men defending the choke point from the invading forces of House Yuseff.
Musa gestured at Nasiah. "Laws are much like water and people. They desire to be at rest, if you disturb either, they resist and go back to their most stable state. Use this to your advantage."
Nasiah nodded his head as he grinned under the mask and dashed to battle.
He saw the threads all around the men battling and noticed that several of them were wrapped around their armor and weapons.
They were grey strings that had names of "Binding," "Hardening," and many of the sorts.
He grabbed at them, tugging gently to loosen the enchantments upon the items, causing them to soften and be bent when they got used against similarly enchanted objects.
As soon as he saw the sword bend to the side or their armor indented, he let go of the strings, causing them to harden into useless and detrimental equipment.
They never stood a chance, being unable to even properly hurt the defenders nor be able to escape as Nasiah deformed their boots as well.
"Now stay down there, and don't try to fight back."
He turned to the defenders. "Capture them alive and keep them safe as proper prisoners of war.
The soldiers all looked at each other before complying with his command.
When all was said and done, Nasiah returned to the side of his mother without ever dropping a single speck of blood from the invading forces.
Myrym patted his head and sighed in relief. Hopefully, these soldiers would be able to be freed soon, but she had to wait and bide her time for the best moment.
Now that Nasiah awakened his powers, that time should be drawing closer.
Forenus, meanwhile, overlooked the scenery. The boy was getting better and better; he learned quite fast as well. They would be a master in no time; this was certainly a wonderful day.
Forcas laughed at the aftermath of the battle. She turned to Nasiah and gave him a wide grin. "Haha, you make that look too easy. Come on, let's get you a real challenge!"
She narrowed her eyes over to the distance where the invaders came from and ran over in the direction.
Nasiah tilted his head as he looked at Musa and Forenus first. The latter nodded his head, and they all ran towards Forcas with Myrym in her son's arms.
----------
It was not long until they made it over to a small riverside outpost where several of the soldiers of House Yuseff set up camp. It had a few watch towers and a number of guards walking around the area.
Forcas patted Nasiah's head. "Heh, now try to take them all out, but bonus points if you get them without any one of them noticing you were there."
Myrym thought about this for a moment. If Nasiah can also learn how to avoid notice and stealth, it could greatly help him in sneaking them out of here, too.
Musa nodded along. "Remember that your body is affected by laws as well. You can use your ability to amplify or diminish your capabilities."
Nasiah smiled, he enjoyed the support and help he got and wanted to have some fun too.
"Got it! I'll be back in a moment!" And with that declaration, he leaped into action, heading towards the outpost.
