Star King Chronicles

Chapter 6: Under All The Stars In The Sky

The pair spent their day together. First, they ate a breakfast consisting of fish and bread. They walked across the mansion, picking fruits and doing some light gardening.

Myrym taught Nasiah a few things about the world and its state to help him get started on his quest to rule it all.

In their nation of Balthalem which stretched over a continent, Queen Verichiel and her ancestors ruled successfully for the last hundreds of years.

However, a lot of noble houses began to separate themselves from the Queen. One of them was led by Duchess Astorath, who Marquis Forenus served.

Myrym's family slowly lost their wealth and status and resorted to selling their daughter out in marriage to House Yuseff, who allied with the Queen.

Since she was low-status enough yet connected to an allied house, she was chosen to be captured and bargained with.

This left her with a distaste in her mouth for being used in such a degrading manner. Nasiah comforted her by doing a cute little song and dance number out of nowhere. She enjoyed that thoroughly.

----------

After some time, Nasiah led his mother to the beach. He stood upon a rock with a proud expression as he pointed towards oncoming ships in the distance.

"They're here!"

Myrym swallowed her fear as she stood by her son while they watched a small armada of ships dock themselves on the side of the island. They each held dozens of trained soldiers and had tens of armed artillery.

She looked to her son, who seemed to be filled with joy in contrast to herself. He just waved his hand without a care in the world.

It all seemed well until Nasiah turned to his mother. "Move away for a little bit; something is headed this way!"

He sensed someone with the intent to bring him harm and knew that his mother would have been in danger as well.

Myrym did not need to be told twice. She ran away from the rock her son was on.

She looked back as she saw a figure from one of the ships jump into the air. They unsheathed a silver sword and slammed it straight into the young boy at incredible speeds. The impact was so powerful that it shattered the rock he was standing on!

However, when the dust settled, it was revealed that Nasiah managed to catch the sword's blade with his palm and pushed aside the wielder, who appeared to be a tall, beautiful woman with ears and the tail of a wolf wearing a suit.

The lady brushed aside her long silver hair. "So, you're the kid my master talked about, huh? You certainly got the power I'll give you that much."

She pointed her sword at him. "My name is Forcas. The right hand of the Great Marquis Forenus! Who may you be to even stand up to my master?"

Nasiah dusted himself off and gave the she-wolf a bright and innocent smile. "I'm Nasiah! The king and savior of this world!"

For a few moments, there was an awkward silence in the air as Forcas tried to hold her laughter internally. She was told that the boy was quite eccentric but never to this level of madness.

She also wasn't told he was this cute too. The more she looked at him, the more she just wanted to hug and cuddle with his body.

Myrym ran back to her son's side after Forcas's initial greeting. She already had some bad blood with her as she recognized the she-wolf as the one who led the attack on her guards. She definitely did not want her son to associate with someone like that.

Then, everyone turned to face the largest ship of the armada as an overwhelming presence made itself known. It was Forenus, who was walking down from his ship and onto the beach.

He waved his hand. "Forcas, to me."

With that simple command, the she-wolf jumped to his side. She served by his command for decades; anything her master desired, she would provide, no matter what.

Myrym held her son's hand and initiated the meeting. "Marquis Forenus! What do you want from my son?!"

She had no desire to aid the Marquis whatsoever, but her son was honorable. This could be used against him so it was best that she made sure that they knew from the start what they wanted.

Forenus took a step forward, holding out a piece of parchment that was tied together by string. "Princess Myrym, all I desire from him is to read the terms and conditions for our truce and partnership and, as well, to sign it."

If what he theorized was correct, then with the boy by his side, he would be able to fight back against House Yuseff, who were invading his region. This partnership was needed; he had to save his people.

Myrym raised her hand. "Hand it over then; I will be the one to determine if it's worth signing or not. I am his mother, after all, and he is still just a child."

Forcas laughed. "Hah? This was meant for the boy, not you-"

Forenus raised his hand, silencing her. "Very well."

He walked over to Myrym and handed her the piece of parchment before walking back to Forcas's side.

She was shocked, to say the least; her master was never desperate like this before. Was that child really so special?

Myrym sighed in relief. It was a good thing he just instantly complied; she had no idea what she would have done if he had not.

She looked at her son for a moment, who was just smiling innocently. She wanted what was best for him, and for that, she opened up the treaty to ensure it was in his best interest.
