Star Wars: Conquest

Chapter 2: 2 Something is wrong

The Cabin door opened, and yellow indicator lights lit up the corridor, pointing Jon Roberts to the elevator leading to the bridge. The nurse that was guarding the door lowered her head and ran in the room to tidy it up.

[Commander has awakened. Please pay attention to the work arrangements of all units... The Commander has awakened...] In the corridor, the broadcast from Mei was still being repeated.

But on the way to the bridge, Jon was thinking that the whole place seems a little empty. It took Jon Roberts a long time to see four soldiers in the same uniform at the elevator doors.

Seeing Jon Roberts coming, the four soldiers came to attention and made a very standard military salute. "Sir!"

Jon Roberts just said, "At Ease?" Seeing his response, the four soldiers drew their developed chest muscles higher.

After taking aa long elevator ride, he came to a vast hall. Two soldiers with determined faces stood at the door. Seeing Jon Roberts coming, they immediately stood up and saluted.

In the middle of the huge room was a huge holographic star map, but most of the star map was dark, and nothing could be seen. There were many people seated at consoles around, and it seemed that if this place was to start working, at least a hundred people would have to work together, but now, only more than ten people were working in the hall.

"Attention!" Everyone stood up and saluted. "Good morning, Commander!"

"At Ease!" Jon Roberts said and then looked out the huge panoramic window. A green world came into view. Unlike the Earth, the planet had only a lot of green vegetation, so it looked green all over.

White clouds of the atmosphere were clearly visible, showing that the planet had a good atmosphere. But the most striking thing was not the planet itself but the enormous planet behind it. The small planet in front of him was the moon to the enormous planet behind it. The pale blue sphere looked smooth and clean, with only a few dark twists, like a bouncy ball from childhood- it was clearly a gas giant.

"Is this the habitable planet we have found?" Jon Roberts asked.

[Yes, Commander.] The central holographic projection immediately switched to a star system, and Mei explained: [The current star system is a stable binary system, which has two stars constantly rotating around a common center point. In the star system, there is only one planet, which is this gas giant with a diameter of 48,951kilometers.]

[In addition, there are nine moons rotating around this gas giant, and we are next to one of them. There is also a moon with a suitable climate, but the ocean coverage is more than 90%, which is not suitable for colonization in the current situation.]

"Nine moons around this gas giant?" Jon Roberts frowned, thinking back to his memory. "Well, that means we have to make do with colonizing this small moon, right? Then, at least tell me what the situation is now."

A young man in a dark blue military uniform stood up from a round table nearby. He saluted Jon and said: "First, we need to replenish conventional fuel. The gas giant contains a lot of helium 3, which can be used as the energy supply for the various spacecraft fusion reactors. Therefore, aa mining station needs to be built near the gas giant. There are some modular semi-finished products in the Mothership's warehouse, and some small engineering spacecrafts are kept in the hanger to complete the assembly work, but these craft need to be piloted by crew."

"So, I need to wake up these pilots?"

"Yes sir, after you woke up from hibernation, Mei woke up 50 crew to prepare for you in advance. There are 10 Marines, 10 Officers, 10 Medical staff, 10 mothership controllers, and 10 Maintenance Personnel. The medical staff was woken up to make sure that everyone that was woken up are healthy at all times. Now, we need your authorization to wake up more people."

"Very good. What's your name?" Jon Roberts saw that the man spoke with a plan in mind.

" I'm Skylar Broxton! I'm a member of the staff department!"

"Skylar, if there is no corresponding position, then from now on you are the chief of staff." Jon said.

He also roughly understood some things, and now he needs to wake up a team. He himself can't do everything himself, but as long as there are people who do, that's OK. Sure enough, after Jon picked up, Skylar suddenly became excited and answered loudly. "Yes! I promise to complete this mission!"

"OK, let see our hibernating crew." Jon came to the bridge in the central highest seat under the prompt of Mei and immediately opened a holographic screen in front of him.

The screen lists the personnel available for awakening, including 1 million residents, 50,000 crew and 50,000 military personnel who are skilled in different fields. Now, it is evident that the people who should be chosen to wake up are among the 50,000 crew members who are more experienced working on the Mothership.

These personnel are also divided into different levels, including Normal, Elite, Master and Legendary, and there is one more level after this. the conditions for these personnel to wake up are not the same.

For example, the Master level talent is basically a Master in their chosen field. If you want to wake them up to face this situation without even a tent, it like a waste of doctors farming. So, the conditions to wake them up are marked below these talents. Most of these conditions are their own conditions before they entered hibernation. They are determined after signing the contract with the Mothership.

Jon Roberts decisively shut down the master talent list after seeing some of the conditions. Even if these people wake up, it's estimated that they will directly throw a fit, protest, or rather stay hibernating.

This is actually such truth, in fact, most of the early work can be done by Normal talents of these characters can do well. Such as Workers, at most, he needs some Elite talents to lead the teams.

Relatively speaking, the Normal talents characters wake up conditions are basically, they have a place to live, food to eat, and work. Before authorizing the wake-up, Jon thought for a while before asking Mei, "Mei, am I the only one who can authorize the crew's wake-up? And these people are working for me?"

[Yes, Commander, you are the owner of the highest authority of the Mothership. You also selected all the crew, military and residents and they will be loyal to you.]

Jon Roberts nodded silently. While I was looking through the lists for the Engineering department among the Normal crew, a crew member brought him a sandwich which I asked Mei for. After eating I then chose to wake up 10 teams. Each team consisted of 10 people responsible for controlling the engineering spacecraft. And the woke up four teams of 10 people for logistics and maintenance. Then, He appointed captains and established a small leadership team for both.

After getting started, Jon Roberts quickly entered into his role. Maybe it was the learning he had received in his sleep before, but this small-scale work distribution was straightforward. He woke up 2 teams of 10 people in the agriculture department to take care of the onboard hydroponic rooms in the Mothership because Mei told him that crops in the hydroponic rooms had withered.

No wonder Mei told him that the supplies had reached the bottom. He did not know what happened to the Mothership; perhaps it was in a disaster?

After completing the most urgent work, Jon Roberts sighed in relief, crossed his legs and said, "Mei, introduce the basic situation of the Mothership."

[Understood.]

The central holographic projection shows a panoramic view of the Mothership. Then Mei continued to explain: [ This Mothership belongs to the Kushan otherwise known as Hiigaran civilization, a civilian colony Mothership, with only the minimum arms and armor. The current highest authority owner is, Commander Jon Roberts.]

[Technical parameters: a total height of 41.37 km, the longest part of 10.92 km, and a total weight of 373.079 billion tons. Armed with 5 Ion beam cannons and a point defense system containing 337 small rapid-fire railguns. Total capacity...]

He had been stunned by the holographic projection of the huge spaceship appearing in front of him!

This spacecraft, he knew! This is the Mothership from [Homeworld 1, and 2]

[Homeworld] is a famous game that Jon Roberts has played, which is equivalent to an epoch-making game that created a new era of space real0time strategy games. Not only that, but these games are also known for its grand story, and Jon, who was still in school then, was deeply fascinated by it.

But now, this spacecraft can be said to be the iconic starship in the whole world of [Homeworld] - Hiigaran's Mothership is actually the one he took over!

This is wrong! Why did things in the game become a reality? And if even the Mothership in [Homeworld] appears in reality, does that mean that...

That dream could be real and true?
