Chapter 7: Mission to Quell
"Lieutenant, you're with me! We'll perform a quick boarding session!" Anakin shouted at me, running through the hangar and towards the LAAT's.
Infront of me stood the 332nd Platoon, or recently named Lightning Platoon.
Beside me stood Staff Sergeant Tyr.
My helmet was off, showcasing my high fade and perfectly normal clone visual appearance.
'Sigh'
"I guess you're in command for now, Sergeant Tyr. I'll be back soon." I said as I grabbed the helmet laying on a cargo-box with both hands and ran towards Anakin while putting it on.
As I ran towards the LAAT I found myself a quick visit to a close armory, with just 5 DC15S for clones who didn't expect to fight.
Which I didn't, Quell was not supposed to be a rescue mission.
We would reinforce Aayla Secure whom had been caught unaware in a planets atmosphere without fighters and therefore had little to do against 5 Munificent's.
2 of them were shot down, but the remaining 3 proved too much.
Or at least that's what the Mission-brief said.
Which I received during my sprint behind Anakin, Ahsoka, Rex and 1 other.
I sprinted onto the LAAT just in time for it to began levitating upwards.
"A pre-warning of my participating in a boarding operation would be nice." I told Anakin and Rex chuckled.
"Didn't know you were one to deny a chance of combat?" Anakin said, clearly amused.
"Normally, but I was in the process of briefing my squad of the new Squad we're receiving." I told Anakin and the realisation dawned upon Rex.
"New Squad?" Ahsoka asked.
"The majority of White Company was disintegrated during the Battle of Ryloth, they got ambushed during a Patrol on Ryloth, after defeating the blockade." I told them, and Ahsoka looked a little bit depressed.
"Some good men, they fought well. Sergeant Jon and Corporal Robb escaped, killing all of the 6 Commando Droid Attackers." Rex said and I smiled.
I named those two, not for any other reason than because I saw House Stark main players would be sufficient for 'White Squad'
That's when we exited the hangar and the guns explosions reached our ears.
We all went silent as we flew towards Aayla's Venator, slowly getting closed.
The boarding and rescue party consisted of 3 LAAT's and 30 Clones in total, plus 2 Jedi.
"Rocket Droids incoming!" I heard the pilot say before he fired a volley of rockets.
Anakin got more and more serious as we got a close view of her ship.
"Those droids are boarding her ships!" Anakin exclaimed.
I stood there as I heard a rocket droid land on top of the LAAT.
"Well, ain't that great." I muttered.
"Deal with that clanker. I'll be on board Aayla's Cruiser." Anakin said.
Ashoka tried to convince her otherwise.
"Master, are you sure that's the wisest thing-" She tried, but Anakin was already gone.
Just in time for the pilot to enter the ship.
Oh great, no Pilot. What a normal day.
I thought as the ship began to crash straight towards the cruiser.
"Hang on boys, we're crashing straight into the cruised!" I shouted as I held on at a forward area of the LAAT.
I saw an DC15S stand with the 5 of them in it.
I turned to look at the escaped pilot, meanwhile we were still crashing down.
He had a DC17 Pistol at his waist, a standard procedure for all pilots, they needed something to defend themselves with.
"Pilot! What is your name!" I shouted as he held hold onto something beside me.
"Sergeant CT-2334 Hawk, sir!" He exclaimed.
Oh, the legendary Hawk, what the fuck is he doing here, he's supposed to live a little longer, and no clones survived Aayla's ship except those who were on the escape frigate.
"Here! Stay close to me, Sergeant." I told Hawk as I handed him a DC15S.
He nodded, clipping it to his back as he held on with both his hands.
I did the same.
"Hey kid-" Rex said to Ahsoka.
"I know, I know. Hold on." She returned, just 3 seconds after we crashed into the cruiser.
I was thrown against the wall but held on, Hawk managed the same.
I looked around to see the rest of the clones getting up and ready to jump.
I also saw Ahsoka rushing towards the blast doors of the LAAT.
"Follow me, Hawk!" I exclaimed as I ran behind Ahsoka, a few milliseconds behind Rex, the other 2 clones plus Hawk right behind us.
I landed in a crouch and turned around.
7 B2 Rocket Droids stood loomingly behind us.
Not even needing to take in that a random ship had appeared Infront of us but opened fire immediately after.
I landed in a low crouch and as such I opened fire while keeping myself somewhat protected, 4 of my shots found pinpoint marks on the closest B2 and the 2 others shot the arm of a second.
It was enough and the rest of the men had gotten enough cover from me to run ahead.
I saw Ahsoka take a quick look back at me before continuing ahead.
I turned around and sprinted, my DC15S in a strategic hold as I forward my fire upon B1's all around the room.
My accuracy dropped significant as I ran, barely hitting 1/3 shots.
I'd need to practise that.
Rex and Ahsoka were in the front, shooting at the unprotected back of innocent B1's and Ashoka slashing at the B2's.
The 2 clones were right behind them.
Meanwhile I lingered in the back, Hawk between me and the 2 unnamed clones.
While Hawk's precision was not quite up to my standards, he was efficient enough for a pilot I guess.
We pushed into the corridors as the fire unleashed from behind us slowed significantly, our speed being capable of easily outrunning any of the B1's and B2's.
And as such I pushed forward.
Reaching Rex and Ashoka.
I could also hear a scene upfront, someone slicing through the droids.
I wonder who that is.
"Good of you to finally join us." Rex said as 6 of his DC17's shot found themselves upon the back of a B2 Rocket Droid.
"Someone had to protect your back, and cover our initial arrival." I told him and he nodded, though he already knew what was doing.
We rounded a corner just in time to see Ahsoka slash the last B2 droid.
Letting our eyes linger upon the destruction General Skywalker had unleashed upon the Rocket Droids.
As we met up with Anakin be used force push to send a B2 Rocket Droid through a Squad of B1's and 4 B2's.
Though how the B1's got here is still a mystery.
"Nice entrance, Skywalker." Aayla said as my eyes turned to her.
She truly was a beauty of a Jedi, nice hourglass shape but I easily avoided her body. She was a Jedi and the chances of anything happens between us was close to nil.
I looked at Marshal Commander Bly, he nodded at me and Rex, and we both nodded back.
And with that we began running again.
"How do you plan to get us out of this mess?" Aayla asked as we pushed forward.
General Skywalker and Secura at the front.
"Well, I have a ship docked in the lower hangar as we speak." Anakin spoke as he cut through another Rocket Droid.
We found ourselves upon a single B1 standing there, he looked scared as he said.
"Hold it."
Anakin activated his lightsaber and the door behind them opened, but before it did I shot the B1 with my DC15S.
And then the doors opened revealing a squad of B1's and a squad of B2's.
And they opened fire immediately.
The 3 Jedi blocked incoming laser as we headed around a corner and ran towards the docking port.
The entire ship began shaking as we made it to the docking port.
The boarding pod extending towards the ship.
"We made it." Ahsoka said with a smile.
But that's when a large chain of explosions began rocketeering throughout the ship.
As the door to the Consular-Class Cruiser opened, and we stepped towards it Anakin exclaimed.
"It's too late!"
And with that he sent a force push towards us, pushing us all gently into the ship.
As I fell towards the ground I rolled on the ground before standing up, in a perfect roll.
Rex and Bly did the same, but still crouched while I stood.
The other 3 Clones plus Hawk however we're laying on the ground.
The Jedi looked unfazed.
I turned to see Anakin turn towards the explosions as the door closed.
A large explosion resounded from outside the door signalling that Anakin didn't hold it back.
"Don't move the ship!" Ahsoka exclaimed into her comms.
I turned to Hawk and the 3 Clones.
"Hawk, get to the cockpit. You 2 prepare the medical droid and proper medical supplies, you move to the next blast doors and prepare to close it if this one doesn't hold." I told them.
They all saluted before running off.
And with that I saw Ahsoka opening the door Anakin was behind.
After seeing him Ahsoka cut through the doors as fast as possible before dragging him into the ship.
As they got into the closest blast door, I closed it.
I looked at the Clone Trooper close to me before turning to the Jedi and Commander.
They wanted to drag him to the medical base themselves.
"Commander, General, you must help Hawk in the cockpit, I and Flash will take him to the infirmary." I told them.
Ahsoka looked uncertain for a bit, but after a nudging from Aayla she followed her, but she gave me a pleading look to get him to safety.
Bly nodded to me and I did the same.
And with that I took Anakin over my shoulders as I ran towards the infirmary with Flash right behind me.
…
Just as I got Anakin into the bed with the help of the 3 other Clones I sensed a little shake in the ship, signalling the jump to hyperspace.
"Alright, good job boys. Check out the armory and get some rest. I'll check up with the cockpit." I told them as I walked out, leaving the doctor to his job.
However before I could the Droid Doctor turned to me.
"Lieutenant, I am afraid you'll need to remain. I will be operating on General Skywalker and I cannot be interrupted." The droid said and I sighed.
This would be hard.
I nodded before walking out the MedBay and I leaned on the side of the door.
Looking into the ship.
Fighting for the Republic was a harsh job.
I had lost an entire squad in our second ever battle, and even then they were just on patrol.
We've never engaged in open battle for now, only singular Battles with Anakin in small teams.
This really sucked, and it would be worse.
Robb and Jon had just recently physically recovered.
Luckily clones required little mental recovery and as such it went mostly fine.
But we all still had problems with the nightmares, of us turning on our Jedi Commanding Officers.
I knew I needed to get the inhibitor chip out soon enough, but right now, it would have to wait.
As much as it sucked knowing someone could control you at their whim, I knew it was not yet the time to take it out.
And even if did I needed to get allies to survive the change to the Galactic Empire, plus I needed to do it without any Republic Resources, couldn't risk anyone finding out that I took it out.
Palptine would surely remove me immediately.
I was brought out of my musing by the sight of an 16 year old Ahsoka Tano running towards me.
Although she was a 16 year old, her mentally was still not quite that of 16 year old Ahsoka in the normal timeline.
Now I needed to tell a Padawan that she couldn't see her dying master.
A milder way of saying you can't see your dying father, or a worse way. Don't know.
