Succubus System At Hogwarts

Chapter 31: (31) Joining the Quidditch Team

As Ian had predicted, after Harry, Ian, and Draco left the headmaster's office, Dumbledore summoned Snape.

"Severus, you must protect Harry and Ian. Voldemort has already set his sights on them," Dumbledore said gravely, looking at Snape.

"You never should have used the Philosopher's Stone to bait Voldemort! They're only first-years! First-years, Dumbledore!"

Snape roared angrily, his expression twisted. "They've only just started learning magic. How can they possibly protect themselves? You'll stop at nothing to destroy Voldemort, will you?"

"Calm down, Severus," Dumbledore said with a sigh. "I'm fully aware of how dangerous this is. But to eliminate Voldemort, we must take risks. Harry and Ian must grow up quickly."

Snape's face darkened. "Are you planning to gamble with their lives?"

"Of course not," Dumbledore replied. "I will protect them, and you must also trust Harry and Ian. They have limitless potential."

Snape let out a cold laugh. "Limitless potential? Right now, they're nothing more than two clueless little trolls! And you want them to face Voldemort?"

"We must have faith in the two Potters," Dumbledore said, glancing down at the three young wizards surrounded by their classmates. "Severus, to be honest, at first, I thought Ian might become the next Voldemort."

"I admit that whether it was Ian's actions helping his classmates yesterday or his respectful attitude toward the professors, they reminded me of Tom."

"I believed Ian, like Voldemort in his youth, was accumulating power and planning for something big."

"They are both equally handsome, possess a unique charm, and naturally attract admiration as born leaders," Dumbledore said, a sharp glint flashing in his blue eyes behind his glasses. "Moreover, they both lived in orphanages, and both are Slytherin half-blood wizards—"

"Enough!" Snape interrupted angrily, his expression dark. "Ian is not Voldemort! He will never become someone like Voldemort!"

Dumbledore smiled gently. "Of course. I now know that Ian and Tom are different."

"Severus, I have always believed that love is the greatest magic of all. Look, in just a few short days, Ian has already made true friends." Dumbledore looked down at Ian, who was apologizing earnestly to a young witch. "He's not like Voldemort. He's a good child."

Snape said nothing, but his gaze followed Dumbledore's to the scene below, where Ian and his friends were laughing and high-fiving each other.

His eyes flickered briefly before he turned away, letting out a cold snort. "I don't need you to tell me. I already know Ian is a good child."

"Ian has quite a few friends," Dumbledore added with a knowing smile. "For instance, that child from the Malfoy family. While I don't believe Voldemort would target him specifically, it would be wise to keep an eye on him as well, Severus."

Snape's expression darkened further, and he snapped, "That's my godson! I don't need your reminder!"

With that, he spun around and strode out of the headmaster's office.

Watching Snape's retreating figure, Dumbledore chuckled softly.

...

Meanwhile, downstairs, Ian suddenly sneezed.

"Ian, are you alright?" Hermione asked quickly, concern evident in her voice.

"It's nothing, my nose just felt a bit itchy," Ian said, rubbing his nose with a smile. "Maybe someone's talking about me."

Cassandra crossed her arms and snorted coldly. "Probably the professors discussing your recent 'heroics.'"

"Professors wouldn't be that idle, right?" Ian said with a shrug.

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a familiar sharp voice sounded from behind him.

"If our famous Ian Potter could manage to give his hardworking Head of House less to worry about, I might indeed have some spare time."

Ian stiffened immediately and slowly turned around, only to meet Snape's expressionless face.

"Professor," Ian said with an awkward smile. "What brings you here?"

Snape snorted. "If I didn't come, how else would I find out about the trouble you've caused me?"

Ian rubbed his nose again, remaining silent.

Professor McGonagall approached them and added, "Ian, Professor Snape and I have some matters to discuss with you."

Ian, Draco, and Hermione exchanged glances, confusion clear in their eyes.

"Ok, don't waste anymore time. Potter, Malfoy, follow me," Snape said, casting a glance at Ian and Draco before turning and walking down another corridor.

Ian and Draco quickly followed, while Harry went with Professor McGonagall in another direction.

"Professor, what do you need us for?" Ian asked, unable to suppress his curiosity as he watched Snape's back.

Snape didn't answer, instead leading the two of them through a maze of hallways until they arrived at the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.

"Professor Quirrell, I need Flint," Snape said to the stammering professor in the middle of class.

"O-of c-course, P-Professor S-Snape," Quirrell stuttered nervously before turning to a particularly large Slytherin boy in the classroom. "F-F-Flint, Mr. F-Flint, p-please come o-out for a m-moment."

"Professor Snape, you were looking for me?" Flint said respectfully.

Ian stared at Flint in surprise.

The toothy, troll-like figure before him was acting so deferentially toward Snape?

In the films, this guy was notoriously arrogant, but here he was, as docile as a kitten.

"Flint, I've found you two exceptional Quidditch players," Snape said, gesturing toward Ian and Draco. "Potter will be a Beater, and Malfoy will be a Seeker."

"What?!" three voices exclaimed in unison.

Ian and Draco exchanged shocked glances, both seeing the disbelief mirrored in the other's eyes.

Were they really joining the Slytherin Quidditch team?

"Professor, b-but they're first-years," Flint stammered, equally stunned.

Snape fixed him with a cold glare. "What? Do you have an objection to my decision?"

"No, I wouldn't dare," Flint quickly shook his head.

"Then it's settled. The two of them will join the Slytherin Quidditch team," Snape said coldly. "And if I find out you dare to bully either of them..."

Snape cast a sharp glance at Flint without finishing his sentence, but the threat was abundantly clear.

"N-no, of course not, Professor," Flint stammered hurriedly.

Snape nodded in satisfaction before turning to Ian and Draco. "You two, perform well. Don't embarrass me."

With that, Snape turned and walked away.
