Summoning Pokémon in Naruto

Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Elbow Strike Showdown

Electric currents surged as Uchiha Hayato darted backward like an arrow loosed from its bowstring.

However, A followed relentlessly, as if his shadow were fused to Hayato's, maintaining an unrelenting distance between them.

Hayato twisted his body to evade A's hand strike and swiftly gathered chakra, slamming his palm toward A's chest.

Electric sparks flew as Hayato's attack connected, but he was stunned to find it had no effect on A's defense.

"The Lightning Release Chakra Mode isn't something a half-baked user like you can overcome," A sneered, his grin sharp and mocking. With a thunderous punch, he struck Hayato's crossed arms, the force carving deep grooves into the ground as dust and stones flew everywhere.

"I can't track their movements!" muttered Tongusa Noabito, his face pale. The battlefield was a chaotic tangle of crisscrossing shadows. He could barely discern Hayato's position from the brief moments when the combatants paused.

"Uchiha Hayato is at a disadvantage. That makeshift Lightning Release Chakra Mode of his can't possibly match A's."

Hayato's chest burned with frustration. His opponents were all destined to become legends of the shinobi world, while he, at only nine years old, was painfully aware of the limits of his strength.

But his Sharingan was spinning, the tomoe capturing A's every move with precision.

"He's getting faster," A thought, his heart sinking. Though he was immune to genjutsu and his heightened reflexes from the Lightning Release Chakra Mode allowed him to evade most disruptions, Hayato's actions were growing more seamless.

The Sharingan's full potential—observation, replication, and prediction—was on display.

Hayato analyzed A's movements, predicted his next steps, and prepared in advance. If he couldn't match A in strength, then speed would be his weapon.

A launched another punch, only to strike nothing but air.

"A shadow? Even I couldn't react in time?" A's mind reeled. This level of speed was something only his father, the Third Raikage, had ever shown him.

No, he could see it—it was just an illusion! He gritted his teeth, his entire body erupting in lightning as he leapt into the air, charging his chakra for a devastating blow.

"Lightning Oppression Horizontal Chop!"

A roaring wave of lightning cascaded down, but Hayato's voice reached his ears before the sound of his attack could.

"It's useless. You can't hit me."

Hayato's taunting smirk only enraged A further as Hayato darted to his side, delivering a precise elbow strike.

A grunted in indignation, furious that a child had managed to land a blow on him.

"His chakra reserves are depleting quickly when using this technique!" warned Naka Naka.

Hayato cast an irritated glance at the perceptive sensor ninja, his patience thinning. Maybe he should eliminate him first.

As dark emotions welled up in his chest, a shadow loomed over him.

"Where are you looking?"

A's blackened hand blade sliced toward him. Hayato evaded again, but he was beginning to feel the strain—his breathing grew heavier, and his chakra reserves dwindled.

He had unleashed his Thunderbolt at full power, fought against the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, and maintained his modified Lightning Release Chakra Mode enhanced by Extreme Speed.

Hayato shot into the sky, leaving behind a fuming cluster of shinobi below.

He retrieved a pre-prepared scroll and summoned his lunch—a fragrant curry that wafted tantalizingly through the air.

"I'm starving. Time for a break."

Kumogakure and Kirigakure shinobi hurled ninjutsu toward him, but Hayato had ascended to a safe altitude, high enough to avoid their attacks, though the cold bit at him.

The dish of the day? Bone marrow curry. The rich, hearty essence of the bone broth paired perfectly with the bold, spicy flavors of the curry. Hayato savored every bite, the warmth spreading through him as the frustrated shinobi below could only gnash their teeth.

Their futile attempts to dislodge him ceased when he casually dropped the empty container to the ground.

BOOM!

The moment a shinobi stomped on the discarded box, it erupted into a fiery explosion, leaving them scorched and humiliated.

"How's my little gift?" Hayato grinned down at them, his voice full of mocking glee. "Against enemies, you have to be crueler than they are."

Elsewhere, Kushina turned back anxiously toward the distant battlefield. The deafening sounds of battle echoed even two kilometers away, a testament to the ferocity of the clash.

"Is Hayato okay?" she murmured, her worry evident.

The barrier surrounding Uzushio came into view, a beacon of safety amidst the chaos.

"Kushina, don't hesitate now. Hayato told us to return to the village and wait." Asako tugged at her hand, urging her forward.
