Chapter 738: Chapter 732: Man and Nature (Part 2)

“Damn, really? Wild ones?” Although none of us are experts in this field, we do know that there are probably just over 1000 spotted deer left in our country, a truly endangered species. The concept of a wild deer herd is vastly different from that of a farmed one, and there’s a huge gap between these two. Yet, we see a wild deer herd here.

“Stop the car, stop the car.” Mr Humphrey and the others shouted, and as soon as they heard the sound, the T1000 driving the car pulled over steadily. After getting out of the car, Mr. Humphrey asked, “Seriously Mr. Finn, are you kidding me? Are these really wild deer?”

“Of course, they are wild. Go and see for yourself, do the deer have a number on their ears? These are all nationally numbered. Here, though human-made, the forest is extremely well preserved. Hence, these animals just came down on their own. However, they first had to report to the nation and are under constant surveillance. There is also a positioning system on these deer.” Finn casually explained.

The truth is, this place is not only home to spotted deer but has an entire ecosystem. Yet, large carnivores that pose a threat to humans are definitely not present. In fact, a lot of adorable pets that are safe for humans can be found here. In any case, our ecosystem can sustain them, and they are all quite smart.

They can sense that the plant leaves here are very delicious and beneficial to their bodies. The humans here have no animosity towards them either. During the construction of the entire villa, these creatures had already begun settling here. They’ve developed a very good habit of interacting with the people, so they are not afraid of them. Even if you want to get close to them, as long as they are not suddenly frightened, these animals do not run. One has to admit, it’s impressive how they can sense the benefits of the plants here.

A lot of animals have already migrated here. Fortunately, because there’s no significant vegetation around, the number of wildlife here is not too many. The herd of spotted deer was brought here using special methods by Finn. In fact, many of the animals here were brought illicitly. Relevant government departments are aware of this. But since Finn is raising them, not eating them, and can take care of them well in this environment, they naturally turn a blind eye.

Otherwise, these people aren’t fools; they know precisely what wild animals inhabit the area surrounding this place. Without a wild forest or natural woodland nearby and residential populations everywhere, this plantation and grain-producing area hardly has any wild animals, are there? There might be a few wild rabbits or hens, with most being bird species.

They quickly saw the numbers on the spotted deer’s ears, and Mr Humphrey and the others confirmed that these were indeed wild deer. It’s rare to see such a sight in our country. Although, with their current status, going abroad is not a challenging task, but it’s quite simple. Mr. Humphrey and the others are quite wealthy, with net worths in the tens of millions. However, they hardly have any time to travel; they are always busy at work.

“If you want to go and see, you can.” Seeing how interested everyone was, Finn promptly suggested, laughing. After all, they had all the time in the world today.

“Aren’t they afraid of humans?” Mr Humphrey asked incredulously.

“Of course not.” Finn nodded. Mr Humphrey and the others quickly approached the deer herd carefully, “Be gentle, don’t make drastic movements, they generally do not run.” Finn couldn’t help but remind them, seeing how cautious they were.

Just as Finn said, although many of the lying deer had stood up because of their approach, some of the lazier ones were still lying there, not moving at all.

Most of the deer shifted their gaze onto them due to their approach, but they didn’t flee. Only a few, perhaps the shy ones, walked a few steps into the herd, but they didn’t run either. Most of them just stayed put. Mr Humphrey, who was at the front, cautiously stretched out his hand. Seeing Mr Humphrey’s hand, one of the deer, probably used to being fed by robots earlier, immediately brought its head close.

The deer sniffed Mr Humphrey’s hand, finding no food. It didn’t leave though. Instead, it rubbed its head against Mr Humphrey’s hand, then stood still and resumed its rumination. Mr Humphrey carefully touched its antlers, and it showed no reaction. Daniel Pan and the others, curious, assembled soon after and the deer didn’t stir. These guys quickly started clicking pictures with the herd, still cautious at first.

But soon enough, they let loose. They didn’t have any particular thoughts about these deer, just taking all sorts of pictures. After twenty minutes, the deer seemed to be getting annoyed. Led by a stag, they stood up and began to move into the woods. Mr Humphrey and the others returned, and Finn chuckled, “Really, you guys are overreacting. You’ll realize that there are so many of them here once you start seeing them regularly. I doubt they’ll ever leave.”

“Ah, you know as well as I do how badly our country’s environment has been destroyed. This situation, which are commonplace in countries like Cana Kingdom, is rare here. Believe it or not, if such a scene was uploaded, it would become sensational news. When something that should be normal can pass off as news, we must reconsider our relationship with nature. Alas, it’s our tragedy.” Mr. Humphrey melodramatically stated.

“Gosh, when did you become all philosophical, Mr Humphrey? I remember you being the first one to discover good food back in university. You’re suddenly talking about humans and nature.” Daniel could not help but blurt out.

“Haha, I’m just saying. But today’s events indeed gave me a lot to think about. After all, it’s a lesson for us all. Nevermind that now. Anyway, I believe that these fellows must be looking forward to the good days ahead in Mr Finn’s territory. Finn is a tycoon. Ha-ha, god damn, even the animals have begun to realize who they should be cozying upto now.” Mr Humphrey laughed out loud.
