Chapter 82: The Island III
Dave nodded in return, though inwardly, anger simmered beneath his composed exterior. He wasn't going to place all the blame solely on pirates. The world was rife with corruption and cruelty, filled with both bad and worse people, and that wasn't going to change easily. Yet, the one thing that kept the world from completely descending into chaos was the existence of good people—those who stood as beacons of hope in the darkness.
But the Marines…
Dave's fists clenched as the thought consumed him. The very institution that claimed to uphold justice had turned its ideals into a business. If an island paid its taxes, it was granted protection. If not, it was left to fend for itself against whatever threats came its way. Their so-called justice was nothing more than a transactional façade, and the consequences of their apathy had created tragedies like Kaito's.
He wasn't going to let it slide. Dave vowed to change that—to challenge the twisted system so that no other child would have to endure what Kaito had. No one else should have to stand on the ashes of their home, clutching the remnants of their shattered life.
This wasn't just about revenge. It was about reshaping the world into one where true justice existed. And Dave would stop at nothing to see it through.
"Captain, I am going to help them all" Kaito said as Dave nodded
Dave smirked, a glint of determination in his eyes. "Good. Just remember—this world's not kind. But we're not here to play nice. We're here to carve out a place where we can live free, no matter who stands in our way."
Those words seemed to ignite something in Kaito. He nodded with fierce determination, his resolve solidifying as he stood among people who had not only rescued him but given him a chance to rebuild his life. For the first time, he felt like he belonged, like he was part of something greater.
Whether in Marvel or here, his goal was simply to just play along but now he truly felt, since he has power he should do something with it, that will make his name immortal in history as benevolent being.
The days turned into weeks, and the crew worked tirelessly to transform the island. Under Dave's guidance, Tony led the effort to engineer sustainable solutions, using his advanced intellect and technology to revitalize water sources and stabilize the terrain. Enel, though reluctant to get his hands dirty, used his electrical abilities to clear debris and power makeshift equipment. Rayleigh and Shakky contributed their experience, while Dave himself took on the heaviest tasks without complaint, inspiring everyone around him.
Together, they replanted trees, cleansed the land of its scorched scars, and encouraged new life to take root. Slowly but surely, the desolate, ash-ridden landscape began to change. Tiny green shoots poked out of the ground, fragile yet persistent, symbolizing hope. The air grew fresher with every passing day, and the once-silent island began to hum with the faint sounds of nature returning.
Kaito worked harder than anyone else. His small hands blistered, his muscles ached, but he refused to stop. For the first time since his family had been taken from him, he felt more than just pain or anger—he felt purpose. He wasn't just surviving anymore. He was creating something tangible, something meaningful. And with every task completed, he felt closer to the crew who had given him this chance.
When the island was finally stable enough to sustain itself, the crew gathered at its highest point, a natural cliff overlooking the vast sea. The horizon stretched out endlessly before them, its shimmering blue expanse a stark contrast to the troubled land they had left behind. The rising sun bathed the landscape in a golden glow, marking not just the end of their work but the beginning of something new.
Dave placed a firm hand on Kaito's shoulder, his voice steady and resolute. "This is your starting point, Kaito. What we've done here is just the beginning. The New World isn't going to wait for us to catch up, but you've proven you're ready to face it."
Kaito grinned up at his captain, his youthful determination shining like the sun. "I'm ready, Captain. Whatever comes next, I'll face it head-on."
The crew shared a moment of camaraderie, a bond forged not just by shared battles but by rebuilding something that truly mattered. For Kaito, this was more than just an island—it was a foundation for the future, a place where he could anchor his dreams.
As the Hell Prince Pirates set sail once again, the island faded into the distance, but its story stayed with them. It was a testament to what they stood for—not just power or freedom, but the protection of people and places that deserved a chance to thrive.
The ship cut through the waves, its sails billowing in the strong winds of the New World. The sea ahead was unpredictable, filled with untold challenges and adversaries waiting to test their mettle. Yet, with every obstacle came opportunity—new alliances, new battles, and new tales waiting to be written.
The New World was a place where only the strong survived, and the crew of the Hell Prince Pirates embodied that strength. With Dave at the helm, a captain who inspired loyalty and commanded respect, and a crew willing to face any danger for their shared vision, they were ready for whatever lay ahead.
As the sun rose higher, casting its light on the vast expanse of water, one thing became clear—the New World wasn't ready for the Hell Prince Pirates. But they were more than ready for it.
However, unbeknownst to the crew, they were not sailing unobserved. Far above, hidden amidst the clouds, a sleek ship floated silently. It bore no flag, no markings—only a sinister presence that hinted at its purpose. Aboard this vessel, agents of the World Government's Cipher Pol (CP) organization were busy monitoring the Hell Prince Pirates.
The CP0, the most elite branch of the Cipher Pol agencies, had been given specific orders. The bold assault on the Celestial Dragons had painted a target on Dave and his crew. To openly humiliate the so-called "gods" of the world was a crime that could not go unanswered. While the Marines dealt with public responses, it fell upon CP0 to work in the shadows, gathering intelligence and laying the groundwork for a decisive strike.
