Supergene: I will be the strongest

Chapter 10: Business with Qin Xuan

Soon enough, I reached my destination, but I didn't move forward; I paused. After hiking a dozen miles, I saw a gap in the canyon so deep and dark that I could not see its bottom. So I lit a torch, and after some thought, I went down.

There was a huge river that I saw, and according to the original story, there are two serpents inside this river. If only I had a flying devil soul!

After being frustrated for not having a flying devil soul for a moment, I went to a nearby tree, cut it down, and created a boat out of it that was around 2 meters long, and started to cross the river. The river water was almost completely still, with no waves or tides. Luckily, I didn't encounter those serpents and safely crossed the river.

Once I reached the other side, I cut that boat into 5 wooden blocks and threw them into the river with a gap of 13 meters. I know once I stole the eggs, those serpents inside would chase after me, and I wouldn't be able to ride a boat; I would have to run.

I don't want to kill those two serpents because their size is too big, and I won't be able to take them away. I also don't want to make things easy for the Son of Heaven's group.

Then I went inside the cave and summoned my speed glyph devil soul to gain additional speed. I had already put on my golden armor when I entered the cave. Soon I saw those two serpents; one of them returned to the river while the other one was protecting two ostrich-sized eggs in its nest.

Once I prepared myself, I slowly approached it. When I was close enough, I ran toward the eggs; my current speed, with the help of my speed glyph, is higher than that of a sacred blood creature. Before that serpent could even react, I picked up those two eggs and ran toward the exit. That serpent finally reacted, and I heard a loud roar.

As I arrived, the other serpent was already slithering toward the exit, its scales glimmering ominously in the dim light, while the first one was hot on my heels, its venomous fangs bared menacingly. I sprinted past the threshold just in time, narrowly dodging its strike, which instead ended up colliding with the pursuing serpent. A cacophony of hissing filled the air as chaos erupted behind me. Without a moment's hesitation, I dashed toward the riverbank, my heart pounding in my chest, leaping onto the rickety wooden blocks that jutted out from the water's edge. The serpent attempted to follow, but its massive form was too slow—by the time it reached the river, I was already free.

Surging into the sunlight, I squinted against its blinding brilliance. It was a stark contrast to the dark cave, where shadows danced like flickering ghosts. A short distance away, I could hear the voices of the Son of Heaven's group, their laughter carrying on the wind. But I paid them no mind; they wouldn't see me lurking in the underbrush as they ventured toward the treacherous depths of the underground cavern.

'Poor boy,' I thought, recalling their naive bravado. Once I found a secure spot away from prying eyes, I unwrapped the precious eggs, their delicate shells cradled in my hands. Devouring them, I relished their rich warmth, feeling a lovely sense of betrayal toward my former pursuers. Each bite reignited my spirit.

_______________

After eating both eggs, I gained a total of 11 sacred Geno points, feeling an exhilarating rush of power surging through me. In the original story, Han Sen only received 5 Geno points from one egg, while I fared even better—Accumulating 7 points from one and 4 from the other! Empowered, I set off on my journey back to the shelter, but intriguingly, it took me a grueling 9 days compared to the swift 5 days it took when I initially departed from the Steel Armor Shelter.

Why the delay, you might wonder? Well, the wilds were teeming with mutant creatures, and I found myself unable to resist the thrill of the hunt. Each encounter pushed my limits, and in turn, I gathered a hefty 19 additional Geno points. The rush of the chase was addictive; however, the only cloud hovering over my triumph was the absence of any devil souls in my spoils. Despite this, the adventure lent me newfound strength, fueling my determination for what awaited next in this perilous world.

"Okay, just five more mutant geno points and I'll reach the maximum for my mutant geno points," I thought, pleased with my progress and strength. I was advancing at a rapid pace.

When I returned to the shelter, I learned about the incident in the cave; the son of heaven and some of his group returned with minor injuries.

"That person is really lucky; he even made it back after encountering two furious sacred blood creatures with only a few minor injuries."

Eventually, I got back to my room and checked on the creature that had already evolved into a sacred blood creature.

The creature I fed black crystal this time was a phantom ant. Before heading to the underground river, I had gone to that mountain valley to capture some of these ants alive for evolution. This time, I'm aiming for a super creature instead of a sacred blood one because I really want an additional piece of super armor for myself.

After everything was finished, I first headed to the transport station to meet Qin Xuan. This visit wasn't just for a casual visit; it was also about a business transaction. I intended to sell my mutant phantom ant crystal armor.

I couldn't trade mutant devil souls with Xu Xiaoqiao's help at a good price, so she was the only one who could assist me, so I went directly to her.

"You're back! Have you decided to join my special squad?" she asked as I approached her.

"Yes, I will, in five days, after completing some work at home, which should take about 4 or 5 days," I replied.

"Alright, so why are you here now? It's not for a friendly chat, is it?" she asked with a smile.

"Can't I visit a beautiful person like you just to chat?" I responded, and she raised her eyebrows.

"Okay, okay, I came to sell some devil souls and mutant ones, but I can't get a good price without your help," I explained my reason for being there.

"Oh, what kind of devil soul do you want to sell? Show me," she asked, intrigued by my words.
