Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 360: Chapter 360: Forced into Battle

Previously, Robert had wondered if the Guardians' portals could block the power of the Bifrost Bridge, similar to how the Space Stone had affected the last portal. However, now with Asgard's physical Bifrost destroyed by Robert, repairing it wouldn't be easy, and unless Thor awakened, the Bifrost was unlikely to reappear on Earth.

"Hmm?" As Robert appeared, the scene before him was not what he had anticipated. Numerous armors had completely surrounded the area, and the ground was pockmarked with craters from the intense barrage of armor fire. It seemed Tony Stark had set aside concerns about damaging the streets and city; ending the battle swiftly was his priority. Robert also noticed Mysterio, who, rather than engaging, was vigilantly observing something...

A bit earlier, before Robert arrived, after the Ivan armor lost power at Tony Stark's house, Mysterio followed the Iron Man armor to the main battlefield after hearing about the mask from JARVIS.

Having once been a host for the Bartz mask, Mysterio felt familiar with the masks and thought he could handle them well enough to assist Tony.

However, General Samos proved different from the Bartz mask Mysterio had encountered, especially in terms of power usage. General Samos was powerful but his tactics were insidious, not at all straightforward like his raw strength might suggest.

Moreover, the control over the host body was different...

In a twist of fate, Mysterio's encounter with the Bartz mask seemed destined, as General Bartz's shadow bats bore a resemblance to vampires with their bat wings and agility, closely aligning with Mysterio's powers.

General Samos, unlike the forceful possession Mysterio had dealt with, seemed more parasitic. Obadiah Stane's life had ended, and General Samos held absolute control over Obadiah's body. Even removing General Samos's mask wouldn't change this because General Samos had replaced Obadiah's face entirely and lived parasitically within his body.

This allowed General Samos to transform into shadows at will. Even if a sneak attack in the dust failed and he was hit by Tony's palm cannon, he could recover as if nothing happened. General Samos's level of integration with his host body made him almost indistinguishable from being unsealed.

In this situation, Mysterio hadn't been much help. To suppress General Samos, Tony had no choice but to continue bombarding with his armors, which unfortunately had little effect on the shadow giants.

And despite Tony's barrage, General Samos and the shadow giants vanished without trace, rendering his attacks futile...

When Tony and Mysterio paused, General Samos launched another sneak attack. Mysterio, quick and agile, was unharmed, but Tony's armors suffered more losses. This led to Robert's arrival, with Mysterio and the armors encircling the area to carefully search for General Samos.

"Saiyan! You're here!" Tony lit up upon seeing Robert, finally feeling relieved. With Robert's presence, even if Tony couldn't overcome General Samos in battle, Robert could step in, eliminating the need for Tony to worry about further destruction if he were defeated.

With a hum, Robert nodded at Tony's armored form and then unleashed a telekinetic force, not to attack directly but to seal off the area, preparing to relocate the battlefield.

The destruction caused to the surroundings was one reason for the move, and more importantly, people and machines were gradually approaching to inspect the situation.

What Robert didn't know was that many forces had already contacted Tony and JARVIS, although Tony hadn't responded, and JARVIS had brushed off the inquiries by merely stating that Ivan Vanko had not died but had instead caused quite a disturbance.

Some forces, upon verification, indeed found traces left by Ivan, and crucially, many of Ivan's armors remained intact. The armors near Tony and General Samos's battlefield were difficult to recover due to ongoing damage from the battle, but those in the downtown area and near Tony's home had caught the attention of many powers.

Perhaps this was why Ivan hadn't installed self-destruct devices in these armors; post-defeat, it would be challenging for Tony to clean up all three battlefields thoroughly, ensuring some of Ivan's armors would remain and be discovered.

Even if only Ivan could use his armors, it didn't mean others couldn't reverse-engineer them. Tony's armors were difficult to reverse-engineer because he had specifically safeguarded against it, particularly Colonel Rhodes's armor.

But Ivan's armors might be different, and with so many units, there were plenty of opportunities for trial and error. Success with even one could lead to reverse-engineering or replicating the Arc Reactor, potentially allowing various powers to create their own armors.

Tony was well aware of these issues but hadn't stopped them, nor could he. Unlike

last time when he forcibly took Ivan, this time, Ivan's armors were not his to manage, especially since he had been preoccupied with dealing with General Samos and hadn't thought to manage the aftermath of Ivan's armors...

"Alright, I've sealed the area. Pick a spot, and we'll move there..." After sealing the surroundings with telekinesis and preparing to forcibly relocate with General Samos, Tony Stark, and the armors hidden within, Robert looked at Tony and spoke.

"Actually, we don't need to move the battlefield; I've already bought this area around us..." Tony said, somewhat surprised by Robert's suggestion, then added softly, "It's half destroyed anyway, might as well finish the job. I'll just have someone rebuild it later."

"That works. Shall I continue then, do you need me to force him out?" Robert nodded in understanding, then smiled at the shadows where they suspected General Samos was hiding.

With a thud, as Robert spoke, a dull echo resonated around them, and Robert raised an eyebrow in surprise. His telekinetic barrier had been shaken vigorously—a testament to General Samos's strength, significantly greater than General Bartz's, especially in terms of raw power.

Now, Robert was not just enhanced in combat but also in mental strength through mimicry, having undergone a massive trial from losing control to recovery.

Thus, it was surprising for Robert that General Samos could shake his telekinetic barrier, though unfortunately for Samos, the barrier did not shatter...

Meanwhile, hidden General Samos felt an ominous premonition upon seeing Robert, sensing a terrifying aura far beyond his own capabilities from him—even without Robert transforming into his Great Ape form. To dark demons like the mask generals, Robert's power was exceedingly formidable.

Crucially, General Samos felt an old friend's residual resentment on Robert—an essence from the Dark Dimension's core, combined with memories from when General Samos last awoke, making it clear to him that General Bartz had perished at Robert's hands.

This realization prompted General Samos to think of fleeing, but since Robert's arrival, escape had become impossible. Once General Samos had engaged, especially after battling Tony, his fate was sealed.

Following the dull sound, General Samos knew he likely couldn't leave. Though his connection to the Dark Dimension wasn't severed, he couldn't directly return to escape the situation, thus falling silent, shifting from waiting in ambush to daring not to show himself...

"Don't worry, as intriguing as you are, I won't strike just yet. You can fight Tony now; I won't intervene..." Robert looked towards where General Samos was hiding and spoke with a smile. The shadow beings had unique hiding skills, but unless they returned to the Dark Dimension, evading Robert's senses would be difficult unless General Samos surpassed Robert and employed an unknown ability.

With a whoosh, following Robert's words, Tony, combining advice from JARVIS, pinpointed General Samos's location and decisively ordered the surrounding armors to attack.

This time, General Samos didn't hide, realizing further concealment was pointless. The area was sealed by Robert, and staying hidden was futile if Robert decided to attack—after all, Robert was keeping a close watch.

General Samos had tried everything, even summoning shadow giants outside the telekinetic barrier using evasion tactics that had worked against Tony's attacks previously, but to no avail. The telekinetic barrier didn't block General Samos's communication with the Dark Dimension to summon shadow giants, but it did prevent energy exchanges through the barrier...

With a hiss, General Samos was forced to act, unleashing a burst of dark energy that instantly eroded the lasers from the armors, transforming the surrounding terrain and buildings into relics of a post-apocalyptic world under the dark corrosion.

This application of dark energy was far more powerful than anything General Bartz had demonstrated, likely due to the differences between a host and a parasite...

"Hmm?" Faced with this development, Tony's gaze sharpened as he sensed a crisis within the dark energy, but he was not about to concede. If even with Robert's support he couldn't match such a formidable foe, how would he face such adversaries on his own in the future?

What then was the point of Tony's painstaking efforts to develop these new armors? He had reached nuclear-level attack capability; what he needed now was the ability to survive in such an environment and to normalize and control the magnitude of his nuclear-level attacks freely.

Only by engaging in battles of this caliber could Tony collect combat data for his armors, identify their weaknesses, and improve them to achieve greater perfection.

Tony felt that while a perfect armor was unattainable, his next generation of armors would undoubtedly surpass the current models.

Under Tony's control, the surrounding armors converged, not encircling General Samos as before but undergoing a strange transformation.

With a hum, the Arc Reactor energy

, inherently similar across the armors, merged within the machines, transforming the group of armors into a giant Arc Reactor shining brightly in mid-air.

Only such technological marvels could link disparate energies like this. Even in the world of Dragon Ball, where energy transfers occur and spirit bombs are formed, energy loss is typical, and normally, most energies cannot merge this seamlessly, even if their properties are similar or identical.

Even among generals from the Dark Dimension, such flawless energy fusion was impossible, but Tony's armors achieved it because they were mechanized products cut from the same mold.
