Chapter 362: Chapter 362: The Deal Between the Dark Dimension and Earth Dimension
Unfortunately for General Samo, he was too close to the center of the explosion. Only his strong vitality saved him from dying on the spot, leaving nothing but mud behind. Now, he struggled to recover from his injuries.
However, since these injuries didn't kill General Samo, they wouldn't have a lasting impact on him. As his wounds appeared, the Dark Dimension continuously supplied power to aid his recovery.
Robert noticed this but didn't intervene. Instead, he carefully observed the situation of the Dark Dimension, aiming to clarify two things:
First, he wanted to know if the dark energy used by Heimdall of Asgard originated from the same source as the Black Shadow Legion.
Second, he wondered how the Dark Dimension managed to completely smuggle and whitewash the Black Shadow Legion, allowing them to successfully settle on Earth.
"Is Tony okay? His aura seems very weak..." While Robert was observing General Samo, Mobius, standing beside him, weakly pointed towards Tony Stark and reminded him in a low voice. As a vampire, even one mutated by science, his visual and perceptual abilities were exceptionally strong.
"Hmm?" Robert raised an eyebrow in surprise at Mobius's comment. Tony Stark's energy didn't seem that weak. Although he was injured, it wasn't life-threatening. Mobius was clearly exaggerating.
Of course, Robert could tell that Mobius had no ill intentions; he was just worried about Tony Stark, fearing that Robert might not have noticed Tony's condition. It was surprising how quickly Mobius had formed a bond with Tony, whether it was due to Tony's charismatic personality or some other reason.
"Don't worry, he's fine for now. He's even trying to get up and check his battle results..." Robert chuckled softly, shaking his head. "But, he really can't continue fighting. Go and bring him here."
As Robert spoke, Mobius nodded quickly, vanished in a flash, and reappeared next to Tony Stark.
Truthfully, if it weren't for the various explosions and crises one after another, Mobius would not have wanted to stay by Robert's side, given the immense pressure. Previously, Robert had forcefully torn General Bart's mask off Mobius's face, along with some flesh! It was surprising that this experience hadn't left Mobius with a psychological scar, especially since Robert had later displayed terrifying strength to intimidate Mobius.
"How is it? Did that guy die? Did I win?" Tony Stark asked impatiently as Mobius approached him, even though he hadn't yet climbed out of the soil. He was eager to know the outcome of the battle and whether he had improved or regressed since his last encounter with General Bart.
"Well, it looks okay. That guy has probably lost his fighting ability for now, but he hasn't died. Instead, he's recovering..." Mobius glanced in General Samo's direction and whispered, "The Saiyan doesn't seem to be stopping him, just watching him recover..."
"Lost his fighting ability? That's acceptable, but if I have to deal with these kinds of resilient monsters in the future, I might need to think of something else..." Tony Stark frowned slightly, still somewhat dissatisfied.
For Tony Stark, this battle had pushed his mecha's destructive capabilities to their limits due to a fortunate combination of circumstances and ample supplies. The fact that he could only render General Samo combat-incapable showed that his current mecha was slightly outdated...
To enhance the mecha further, Tony would need to improve its close combat capabilities. It was not only difficult to achieve higher levels of destructive power in a short time, but to genuinely reach higher levels would require a comprehensive upgrade of the mecha.
Having destructive power alone was clearly insufficient. If the speed and responsiveness couldn't keep up with such powerful enemies, even great destructive power would hardly be effective, as not every enemy would expose their weaknesses to Tony.
Defensive capabilities also needed improvement, particularly because during this encounter with General Samo, Tony's mecha was nearly shattered by two punches. If he didn't enhance this aspect and faced an opponent like General Samo again, Tony might not survive.
After all, who could guarantee that Tony Stark's luck wouldn't lead him to encounter such enemies again? In such a short time, Tony had faced two masked generals from the Black Shadow Legion, not counting Tara, the legion's commander, out of the total nine masks in the legion...
"Are you planning to stay buried there?" Seeing Tony lost in thought, Mobius somewhat helplessly reminded him.
"Oh, right, help me out here; this thing has lost its power..." Tony shook his head, looking at the exhausted Ark Reactor in his chest, somewhat helplessly.
Despite all of Tony Stark's efforts and upgrades to his Ark Reactor, there remained an immutable limit: the energy of the Ark Reactor wasn't infinite, and the damage to the mecha was irreversible. Unlike those demons with various
regenerative abilities, Tony's mecha couldn't recover from damage and return to battle after being wounded...
Soon, with Mobius's help, Tony regained his freedom. His appearance was dusty as he followed Mobius into the air, also noticing General Samo, who was still recovering.
Previously, although General Samo would often hide as a shadow, when he reappeared, he maintained the appearance of Obadiah wearing a mask. But now, Tony refused to recognize the dark, muddy mass as Obadiah's body, nor acknowledge it as a normal life form.
"I've already fought him, and I didn't kill him. When can you let me go?" While Tony was filled with disdain for General Samo's appearance, General Samo, noticing Tony, directly addressed Robert.
"You talk as if you intentionally spared my life!" Tony immediately took offense at General Samo's words. He didn't consider the fight a loss. If his mecha could fight continuously, he was sure he could have defeated General Samo completely.
"Well, I said before that I wouldn't interfere, and you could fight Tony. Now that your battle is over, it's more or less a draw. Now, I'll give you two choices..." Robert nodded at General Samo and spoke softly.
"The first choice, you fight me. If you can win, I'll let you go..."
"I choose the second option!" Before Robert could finish, General Samo decisively interrupted, seemingly uninterested in Robert's second choice, or perhaps willing to accept anything just to avoid a confrontation with Robert.
"I haven't even said what my second choice is yet. Are you willing to accept it no matter what?" Robert was somewhat surprised by General Samo's attitude, or rather, he was surprised by how fearful General Samo seemed, which was inconsistent with the power he had shown.
Normally, given the power that General Samo had displayed, he should be a fearless warrior, not one who liked to employ stealthy attacks during battle and now appeared so cowardly...
In reality, Robert misunderstood General Samo. If it were any other strong opponent, General Samo wouldn't have seemed so defeated, even knowing he was outmatched. Mainly, General Samo sensed the aura of Robert killing General Bart!
In General Samo's understanding, beings from the Dark Dimension that came to Earth were not truly mortal. Even in their sealed state, they could be considered immortal.
In such a state, General Samo wouldn't fear death, because the worst an enemy could do was re-seal him. Even if his sealed form was shattered, he would still exist, and the impact wouldn't be significant.
But true death was different—it meant that even the power of the Dark Dimension couldn't restore or save him, leaving not even a trace of consciousness, a true annihilation!
Therefore, to avoid following in General Bart's footsteps, General Samo was very compliant. As long as Robert didn't kill him, everything was negotiable...
"Whatever the choice, I'll accept it!" At this moment, General Samo's voice was quite firm, causing Tony Stark to look somewhat displeased. He suddenly felt that fighting to a draw with such an unprincipled opponent might not be something to boast about.
"Alright, then tell me, where is your leader? Also, how did you Dark Dimension beings come to Earth, and how did you settle down here as if your identities were whitewashed?" Seeing General Samo's demeanor, Robert didn't bother with further questions and directly asked.
"Uh..." Hearing Robert's question, General Samo's gradually human-shaped mouth opened, unsure of what to say, then sensed Robert's expression suddenly turning cold.
Realizing this, General Samo was startled, fearing that Robert might attack him, so he quickly organized his thoughts and explained, "It's not that I intend to conceal these things, but there are some things I truly don't know..."
"If we hadn't been sealed, I could have contacted my leader Tara through the power of the Dark Dimension. But now that we're sealed, to prevent anyone from using us to locate each other and risk being wiped out in one fell swoop, the Dark Dimension has divided our powers. We can no longer sense each other..."
"Not even a little?" Robert narrowed his eyes at General Samo, feeling that he wasn't telling the whole truth.
"There's a little, but not much..." General Samo looked at Robert with some fear and explained in a low voice, "Like the death of General Bart, we can indeed sense it, but beyond that, it's impossible for us to contact each other!"
"Hmm?" Robert was surprised by General Samo's words, now understanding why General Samo was so fearful, "So you knew it was me who killed General Bart? How did you know?"
"You have some residual grudge from General Bart on you, along with a bit of the Dark Dimension's original power..." General Samo hesitated for a moment before explaining
.
"So, anyone who sees me can tell I've killed one of your companions?" Robert looked deeply at General Samo, his face showing no emotion, which made General Samo even more nervous.
"Yes, but such grudges and the power of the Dark Dimension won't last long. Over time, they will gradually disappear. It's only because it hasn't been long since General Bart's death that I could sense it..." General Samo nodded and whispered.
"It seems you don't want to avenge your friend!" A flicker of understanding passed through Robert's eyes as he continued, "So, how did you originally come to Earth, and how did you settle here?"
"It is said that long ago, the Dark Dimension made some kind of deal with the Earth Dimension, establishing a connection between them. Until the supreme consciousness chose us, we were left in the Earth Dimension and granted some of the Earth beings' rights to exist..." General Samo's gaze flickered as he seemed to recall past events.
