Chapter 85: Jones family III
Adam stepped into the house, his eyes scanning the room with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. Spotting Ethan, he broke into a broad smile and said, "Wow, the prodigal son returns! And just in time for the holidays."
Ethan laughed, getting up to give his father a quick hug. "Good to see you, Dad."
Adam gestured towards the driveway. "So, who owns those cars outside? Because unless I've missed something, I don't think I ordered three luxury vehicles."
Emily grinned. "Ethan brought them. One for each of us."
Adam raised an eyebrow, his gaze locking onto his son. "Seriously? Why did you buy the cars, Ethan? You know we're fine with the ones we have."
Ethan waved a hand dismissively, leaning back against the kitchen counter. "It's all good, Dad. I wanted to surprise you guys. And don't worry, I'm not going broke or anything. Actually," he added with a sly grin, pulling out his phone, "I even got one for myself."
Precious, already excited about her BMW, leaned in eagerly. "Wait, what? Let me see!"
Ethan swiped through his phone before holding it up to show a stunning photo of a bright yellow Lamborghini Aventador, gleaming under the California sun. The sleek lines and aggressive stance of the car made everyone's eyes widen.
Isaiah let out a low whistle. "That's sick, man. Absolutely sick."
Precious looked at the picture, her jaw dropping. "Ethan, that's insane! When did you get this?"
"Last week," Ethan said, grinning. "It's parked at my place in L.A. Didn't want to bring it out here and risk it getting scratched."
Adam crossed his arms, his gaze narrowing slightly. "A Lamborghini, huh? And here I thought you were the sensible one in the family."
Ethan chuckled. "Come on, Dad, you only live once."
As the laughter settled, Adam's attention shifted to Isaiah, who was quietly trying to blend into the background. Adam's brow furrowed as he sized the young man up. "And you are?"
Isaiah, suddenly under the spotlight, stood up straighter. "Sir, I'm Isaiah Thomas. It's an honor to meet you. I'm a big fan of your son's music."
Precious jumped in quickly, her voice light but firm. "Dad, this is my friend Isaiah."
Adam's expression didn't soften. Instead, he straightened his shoulders, his chest puffing out slightly as he stepped closer to Isaiah. "Friend, huh?" he said, his tone carrying just a hint of skepticism.
Ethan, sensing the tension, couldn't help but laugh. "Dad, are you seriously trying to intimidate him right now? Are you puffing yourself up?"
Adam glanced at Ethan, feigning innocence. "What? I'm just standing here."
Precious rolled her eyes, but she couldn't hide her smile. "Dad, you're ridiculous."
Isaiah, to his credit, held his ground, though his nervous smile betrayed him. "Sir, I promise I'm just a friend."
Adam finally relaxed, clapping a hand on Isaiah's shoulder. "Alright, kid. Just making sure."
The room burst into laughter, the tension dissipating as quickly as it had formed.
As they settled down, Adam spoke again. "Speaking of friends, I wanted to let you all know we have dinner tomorrow night with David and his family."
Ethan perked up. "David Dupont?"
Adam nodded. "Yes. He's invited us all since you are here it would be good to come, and we're hanging out. Would you guys care to join us?"
"Of course," Ethan said without hesitation. "It'll be great to see him again."
Precious shrugged, a smile playing on her lips. "Yeah, why not? Sounds fun."
"Good," Adam said. "It'll be at the Dupont home. Don't be late."
With the plans settled, the evening carried on in a warm, festive spirit. Precious and Isaiah eventually drifted back outside to admire the cars, leaving Ethan and Adam to chat in the living room.
"You know," Adam began, his tone softer now, "I'm proud of you, Ethan. Not just for the cars or the career, but for how you've handled everything."
Ethan smiled, a hint of emotion in his eyes. "Thanks, Dad. That means a lot."
As the night wore on, the family's laughter echoed through the house, a reminder of the love and connection that bound them together. Even with all the success and challenges, moments like these made it all worthwhile.
Ethan sat back on the couch, scrolling through his phone when Precious suddenly burst into the room. Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she clutched her phone tightly.
"Hey, Ethan, let's do some videos together!" she announced, leaning against the doorway with a grin.
Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Wow, you hated snapping with me before. What's changed?"
Precious smirked, flipping her hair. "You hated snapping altogether. Now you're kinda cool. You'd actually make a decent feature on my posts."
Ethan chuckled, leaning back. "Oh, so now I'm cool enough for your social media, huh?"
"Exactly," she replied, dragging him up by the arm. "Come on, big bro. The internet needs this."
They moved to the living room, where Precious set up her phone on a tripod. "We'll start with a simple TikTok dance. Don't overthink it; just follow my lead," she said, scrolling through her saved audios.
"I don't know about this," Ethan muttered, scratching the back of his neck. "You know I have two left feet."
Precious scoffed. "Not buying it. You've been taking dance lessons, haven't you?."
Ethan hesitated, then grinned. "Fine. Let's see if all those lessons paid off."
The music started, and Precious demonstrated the first few steps of a trending dance. To her surprise, Ethan matched her perfectly, even adding his flair.
"Whoa! Since when could you move like that?" Precious exclaimed, stepping back to watch.
Ethan shrugged. "Guess I've been holding out on you."
By the third take, they were completely in sync, nailing every move with precision. Ethan even improvised, spinning Precious dramatically at the end of one routine.
"Okay, one more," Precious said, switching to a duet audio that featured a funny sibling dynamic. This time, Ethan nailed his lines, earning a high-five from Precious.
"Alright, last one," she declared, pulling out a filter that made their faces look hilariously exaggerated. Ethan burst into laughter the moment the camera captured them.
After they finished recording, Precious immediately started editing and uploading the videos to her TikTok channel. "There," she said, hitting the post button. "Prepare to be famous."
"Oh, I think I've got that covered," Ethan teased, earning a playful shove from his sister.
Within minutes, comments began flooding in.

Precious showed Ethan the growing engagement, giggling as she read some of the funnier comments aloud. "See? I told you this would be a hit. You're a natural, big bro."
Ethan rolled his eyes good-naturedly but couldn't hide his smile. "Alright, fine. You win this round."
Their mom peeked in from the kitchen, holding a dish towel. "What's all the commotion in here?"
"Just creating internet magic," Precious said with a wink.
Emily shook her head, amused. "Well, as long as the house isn't on fire."
Isaiah wandered in, curious. "What's going on?"
Precious held up her phone. "Ethan and I just broke the internet."
Isaiah looked at the screen and laughed. "Man, that's awesome. You guys killed it."
Ethan shrugged, feigning nonchalance. "Just doing my part."
As Precious continued to read the comments aloud, a new wave came in, bringing even more amusing reactions:
@DancerDan25: "Ethan should be a backup dancer on his own tour. This is GOLD. 😂"
@MusicNerd2024: "This man can sing, write, AND dance? The talent's unfair."
