Chapter 30 - Ye Feng’s Actions
Chapter 30 : Ye Feng’s Actions
Sulin woke up to a pleasant fragrance of food, feeling sore and tired when he opened his eyes. “Damn, how can I feel sore and tired with my physique? Xia Shiyu, what did you do last night?” Sulin complained while moving his fingers.
Last night, he brought Xia Shiyu to the guest room, but as he was about to put Xia Shiyu on the bed and go back to rest.
However, Xia Shiyu clung onto him and couldn’t be put down. In the end, Xia Shiyu pushed him away and the two of them fell onto the bed together and the two fell asleep together.
Although Xia Shiyu was beautiful, being pressed down by her for a whole night was not a good feeling. Especially his shoulder, it felt like it was crippled.
“F*ck! I can’t let this girl drink anymore in the future.” Su Lin made up his mind to never let Xia Shiyu drink again. After a simple cleanup, Su Lin went downstairs.
“Is it auntie who’s cooking, or is it Shiyu? This smell, it’s so fragrant, it shouldn’t be the cook.” Sulin murmured, following the enticing aroma to the kitchen. Sure enough, he saw Xia Shiyu wearing an apron and stirring the pot with a spoon.
“Su… Sulin, you’re awake. I saw ingredients in the fridge, so I made porridge,” Xia Shiyu explained. “This porridge has a great effect on sobering up and relieves the effects of alcohol.”
Su Lin heard her and said, “Relieves the effects of alcohol? You were drunk on the spot, and you still need to relive it?”
Xia Shiyu blushed as she thought of the awkward scene when she woke up in the morning. Xia Shiyu subconsciously looked at Su Lin’s lower abdomen, the eight pack.
“What are you looking at?”
“Uhh… nothing.”
“Su Lin, have you washed up? If not, go.” Xia Shiyu urged Su Lin.
“Shiyu, are you chasing me away?”
Xia Shiyu didn’t say anything, instead she walked in front of Su Lin and pushed him out of the kitchen. She wasn’t ready to face Su Lin yet because she was too embarrassed about what happened last night, but Su Lin suddenly came downstairs.
He smiled and went to wash up and freshen himself up. He knew that Xia Shiyu was easily embarrassed, so he didn’t tease her.
Ten minutes later, Su Lin finished washing up.
Xia Shiyu had already put the porridge on the table along with a few side dishes she had prepared. “This is all I could find in the kitchen; I made it randomly. Try the taste,” Xia Shiyu said.
Su Lin took the chopsticks and sat down. “No need to taste; I woke up just by smelling it,” Sulin replied, appreciating the aroma of the porridge.
“I don’t think there are many people in Zhong Jiang who can make a porridge so fragrant. Shiyu, where did you learn to cook it? How did you make it so delicious?”
“It’s due to family conditions,” Xia Shiyu explained. “My dad told me that when their family had poor conditions, they tried to make plain meals smell delicious to increase everyone’s appetite.”
Listening to Xia Shiyu’s explanation, Sulin fell silent. He had never experienced such hardship in either of his lives. Su Lin pushed the dishes in front of Xia Shiyu. “Then you have to eat more. Look at you, you’re only 1.62 meters tall. If you eat more, maybe you can grow taller.”
“Ha-ha, 1.62 meters isn’t short for a girl,” Xia Shiyu chuckled.
Seeing Xia Shiyu’s change in spirit, Sulin felt pleased. The burden of her father’s illness had suppressed her, but now that Sulin helped resolve it, she could finally be herself.
While eating, Sulin suggested, “Since your cooking is so good, how about making breakfast for me every morning?”
Xia Shiyu didn’t have the slightest reluctance. Instead, she asked, “Make you breakfast every day?
Bring it to school?”
Su Lin nodded. “Of course. You know, from today onwards, you’re mine. I don’t have anything for you to do right now, so I’ll just get you to cook me breakfast as a part-time job. What, you don’t want to?”
“Hehe, why wouldn’t I want to do such an easy job?”
“Okay, then it’s a deal.”
“Okay!!”
Just then, Su Lin’s phone rang and saw that it was Chen Yang, he was a bit surprised. Su Lin got up and rubbed Xia Shiyu’s head. “Shiyu, clean up after you eat, I have to make a call.”
“Okay!!” After last night’s episode, her relationship with Su Lin became much closer than before.
“Yangzi, why are you calling me so early in the morning?”
“Brother Lin, it’s nothing. I just wanted to ask if you have anything for me to do today. If not, then I’ll go to the countryside with Ye Feng,” Chen Yang said.
Su Lin raised his eyebrows. Go to the countryside? It seemed that Ye Feng had found a way to make a fortune again. It made sense because Ye Feng suppose to get his first bucket of gold by hoarding equipment but failed due to Su Lin.
To circumvent this, there must be other ways for Ye Feng to be able to get another opportunity since his a destiny child.
Su Lin felt lucky to have Chen Yang if it wasn’t for him informing him about what he and Ye Feng was about to do. He wouldn’t have been able to suppress Ye Feng this time around.
Su Lin laughed. “Why are you going to the countryside so early in the morning?”
“We plan to buy medicinal herbs together. He can’t handle it alone, so he asked me for help,” Chen Yang replied.
Sulin instantly understood. Medicinal herbs in the countryside were inexpensive, but their prices would skyrocket once brought to Zhongjiang or Donghai. After contemplating, Sulin said, “So, are you both planning to sell these herbs?”
“Should be. Ye Feng said he’s going to buy gastrodia elata and sell it in Donghai.”
“Gastrodia elata?”
“Quite interesting. Yangzi, go with them. While you’re there, investigate the stock of gastrodia in the countryside and the demand in Donghai. We’ll handle the trade ourselves for a better profit.”
“Brother Lin, we’ll do it ourselves?”
“Mhmm, how much did Ye Feng pay you?”
“He said he’ll pay me three hundred per trip.”
Su Lin sneered. “Three hundred? By the way, you haven’t spent all the twenty thousand I gave you, right?”
“Yes, there’s still a lot left.”
“Okay, if we can make money, you can use the money in your hands. You didn’t get to eat meat last time. This time, you can have some soup.”
“Brother Lin…”
“That’s settled then.”
