Supreme Dragon Seal

Chapter 143: A Thousand Cuts

“I’ll go and see for myself. Lie Feng, you continue to lead the team forward, don’t stop,” Qi Bei said.

“Yes, my Lord,” Lie Feng nodded. He knew that the Qi Bei’s decisions were unwavering, and with his strength, coupled with Leng Sufeng that followed him, there shouldn’t be any problems.

Qi Bei quickly found the location where Yi Shiba’s battalion encountered trouble. Sensing the residual energy fluctuations in the air, his brows raised. Such violent Qi fluctuations indicated that the opposing side had at least one peak King-grade warrior.

“Master, judging from the horseshoe prints around us, it seems that Yi Shiba’s battalion was surrounded by two to three thousand soldiers, but it doesn’t appear that they engaged in intense combat,” Thirteen’s voice sounded in Qi Bei’s ear.

“Also, Yi Shiba left a scent trail for tracking,” Xiao Jiu added.

“Let’s go. This young master wants to see which great figure has dared to meddle with my troops,” Qi Bei said calmly.

Immediately, he followed the scent trail and flew forward, while Leng Sufeng hung back at a distance.

…..

The stronghold of the Tempest Bandits was not nearby, so at nightfall, they set up camp on a deserted hill with higher terrain.

Yi Shiba was suspended inside a tent, his body covered in salty water and his flesh torn by a bone whip. But he didn’t blink an eye, as if the whip was striking a piece of wood instead of his body.

“Tell me, who sent you?” the bandit executing the torture asked forcefully, panting heavily.

Yi Shiba licked the bloodstains at the corner of his mouth. He remained silent, only glaring at the bandit with a chilling gaze that sent shivers down his spine.

“You like looking? Then look. I’ll dig out your dog eyes first,” the bandit grew furious and drew a dagger, intending to stab Yi Shiba’s eyes.

“Stop.” Just then, a wave of battle Qi whipped through like a whip.

The bandit let out a miserable cry as the dagger fell from his hand. He turned his head and saw the female leader wearing a ghost mask, instantly losing all courage.

“Leader, this guy is a tough nut to crack. We’ve tried everything, but he doesn’t even utter a sound. It’s unclear if he’s even human,” one of the subordinates spoke up.

The Tempest Witch waved her hand, then directly pulled over a chair and sat down. Her piercing gaze locked onto Yi Shiba as she said, “You were once part of the Saint Yana Alliance’s Blade Army. You must have undergone special training, so you’re not afraid of torture.”

Yi Shiba remained silent. There were still traces of the Blade Army’s tattoo on his arm, albeit slightly damaged. Observant individuals could still make it out. However, he was no longer part of that organization. He had new pursuits and goals.

“Just because you’re a tough nut doesn’t mean your subordinates are. Are you not afraid to watch them die in miserable agony?” the Tempest Witch said. Her voice, somewhat hoarse, carried a peculiar charm, capable of manipulating those with weaker wills and leading them by the nose.

Yi Shiba remained silent, his snake-like eyes coldly staring at the Tempest Witch.

“Bring one of them here,” the Tempest Witch ordered calmly, without displaying anger.

Soon, a young soldier from the Divine Dragon Army was brought into the tent.

He was a teenager, appearing to be seventeen or eighteen years old. He seemed somewhat frail, but his gaze was calm, devoid of any fear.

As their eyes met, an indescribable understanding seemed to exist between them.

During Yi Shiba’s time in the Blade Army, he had never shared such understanding with his comrades. It was as if he could see through the other person’s thoughts with just a glance.

The Tempest Witch suddenly waved her hand, and a flash of green battle qi appeared. A piece of flesh was sliced off the soldier’s arm, causing blood to flow down his entire arm.

The soldier furrowed his brow but didn’t utter a sound.

“Good, it seems you’re all tough people. I love breaking down tough people,” the Tempest Witch laughed. Several waves of battle qi flashed by, slicing off piece after piece of flesh from the soldier’s body.

“There’s a torture called ‘a thousand cuts and ten thousand slices,’ where one must slice off a thousand pieces of flesh from a person while keeping them alive, watching their skin and flesh pile up into a mountain in front of them,” the Tempest Witch said with a smile as she swung her battle qi.

After dozens of pieces of flesh were sliced off, the Divine Dragon soldier had no good flesh left on his body except for his head, becoming nothing more than a bloodied figure.

However, he remained silent, just like Yi Shiba, not uttering a single sound. His face turned pale as paper, and he could no longer stand steady.

At this moment, the Tempest Witch stopped and looked at the Divine Dragon soldier with some surprise. His willpower was terrifying. It was understandable for Yi Shiba to possess such determination, but how could his subordinates have such unwavering will?

“Aren’t you afraid of death either?” the Tempest Witch asked the Divine Dragon soldier.

“Hah, I would be coward if I dared to utter a single word, even if I were reduced to a mere skeleton,” the weakened soldier weakly replied, attempting to smile but unable to do so.

“Take him down and bandage his wounds. Don’t let him die. Bring another one here. I don’t believe that each and every one of them can endure,” the Tempest Witch commanded.

Shortly after, another Divine Dragon soldier was brought in, a burly Tigerman.

“Pain on the body is nothing. Let’s switch to tormenting the soul,” the Tempest Witch said upon seeing that he was a Tigerman. Tigermen were skilled warriors among the Orcs, possessing exceptional physical qualities, but their souls were naturally weaker.

The Tempest Witch took out a uniquely shaped headband and directly placed it on the Tigerman. Immediately, the headband emitted a faint black light.

“Ah…” the Tigerman soldier let out a cry of agony, his body suppressed by a tremendous force, rendering him immobile. Exposed veins, trembling muscles, and contorted facial features all displayed the extreme pain he was currently experiencing.

“Just say his name, and your suffering will cease immediately,” the Tempest Witch said with a slightly hoarse voice, tempting him. The demand she presented was quite low, showcasing her cleverness. As long as she opened a small gap, she would win.

“Say your mother! Ah… I’ll never betray my brothers, even if I die…” the Tigerman soldier roared loudly, with tiny blood vessels bursting in his pupils, blood seeping down from his eyes.

Yi Shiba, who had been as unresponsive as a block of wood, was moved. Never betray his brothers, even in death! This statement struck directly at the shadow in his heart.

In the past, during his time in the Blade Army, he had never betrayed his brothers, but they had betrayed him. It had always been a scar in his heart.

Joining the Divine Dragon Army, one of the main reasons was witnessing the genuine brotherhood among the elite Black Armor soldiers. It was a trust that allowed them to entrust their lives to each other.

Now, he had also gained it, he had achieved it. That scar in his heart had completely healed.

“Roar…” the Tigerman soldier let out a ferocious roar, as if his soul was on the verge of bursting.

At that moment, the Tempest Witch waved her hand and removed the soul headband from his head, feeling a sense of defeat that had not appeared in her heart for a long time. What kind of belief could make these people fearless of death and even smile in the face of torture? What kind of bond could make them value their brothers more than their own lives?

Her mood suddenly became a bit melancholy, and she said lightly, “Release them.”

“Leader, but…” the subordinate leader hurriedly spoke.

The Tempest Witch glanced at him, causing a chill to run down his spine, and he quickly nodded.

However, at that moment, several loud explosions suddenly came from outside the camp, accompanied by intense energy fluctuations.

At the same time, screams echoed through the night sky.

The Tempest Witch’s gaze turned cold, and she immediately rushed out of the tent, only to see a figure shimmering with golden light charging straight towards her.

“Spare me, the person you’re looking for is inside.” The bandit in the person’s hand pleaded with tears streaming down his face.

“Die.” The Tempest Witch’s killing intent was resolute, and a burst of battle qi directly sliced the bandit’s head in half.

Qi Bei casually tossed aside the corpse in his hand and stared at the Tempest Witch coldly. “Where are my people?”

The Tempest Witch held a blue longsword in her hand, sizing up Qi Bei. This young man with a handsome face and a pair of mustaches seemed a bit peculiar, but the killing intent in his eyes was even stronger than hers. Were these people who refused to speak his subordinates?

Thinking of the pathetic bandit she had just killed, a sudden dissatisfaction arose in her heart.

At this moment, the surroundings of the camp were stirred up by layers of earthwaves, burying and toppling the charging bandits. Meanwhile, several powerful members of the Tempest Bandits were entangled by a ghostly figure in a black robe.

And in the distance, the Tempest Witch also sensed a more powerful aura watching closely.

Qi Bei flicked the black longsword in his hand and launched a lightning-fast attack toward the Tempest Witch.

“Whether you believe it or not, if you make a move, all of your proud and resolute subordinates will die instantly,” the Tempest Witch said without moving.

Qi Bei’s sword tip stopped in front of the Tempest Witch’s throat, and suddenly, he flicked the tip upward, causing the demon mask on the Tempest Witch’s face to fly off.

A cascade of beautiful hair fell down, but when the Tempest Witch turned her head, Qi Bei couldn’t help but be astonished because she was wearing a thin white mask on her face.

“Did you want to see my true face? Haha, anyone who has seen my true face has died,” the Tempest Witch laughed, her voice trembling.

“Surrender, or die!” Qi Bei said coldly.

“If you make a move, all of your subordinates will die,” the Tempest Witch threatened back.

Qi Bei frowned. He disliked being threatened, especially by a bandit (woman).

The Tempest Witch stared at Qi Bei intently, but suddenly, her pupils contracted because Qi Bei’s sword, without any warning, stabbed toward her throat again.

“Don’t you care about the lives of your subordinates?” The Tempest Witch quickly retreated, the green battle qi wings behind her trembled and suddenly she flew up.

“Haha, threatening this young master, you’re a bit naive. Practice your lies for a few more years before trying to deceive people,” Qi Bei laughed loudly and then shouted, “Ice block, kill her.”

Suddenly, a frost rose up, and before the Tempest Witch could react, the snowy white sword aura pierced through her chest.
