Chapter 7: Game Begins: Maritime Banquet 7
Li Yan's words echoed in Zhao Gao's mind: "Finding other players and obtaining Spatial Item is our top priority."
Zhao Gao wiped his gun, his gaze sweeping over the forty or so survivors, searching for potential players.
A Yong stepped forward to report: "There are two new players. They're too stupid.
They ask everyone if they are players, not knowing that NPCs can't hear any game-related information. But we also learned from them that they don't know about the Special Item yet."
Li Yan's lips curled into a slight smile. "The game rules are opaque, and everything has to be figured out on our own. That's what I love about it. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many people paving the way for us."
Zhao Gao nodded in agreement, reiterating once more, "Keep an eye out for the Special Item. Find the players who have them."
Wen Nannan returned to her room, utterly exhausted. Thinking back on the events of the past few days, Xiao Li, Chef Zhu, Doctor Song-she had been closest to them each time. It was only now that she realized she had been dancing with death.
This time, she wouldn't dare deliver meals to them again. In fact, she would avoid passing by their rooms altogether.
So when Uncle Wen cursed and yelled at her doorstep, ordering her to deliver lunch to the sailors on deck, Wen Nannan feigned deafness.
Delivering meals was like delivering herself to death's door. She couldn't risk it again.
"You little wretch, like your useless dad, is afraid of something when it comes to you. Next time, even if your father begs me on his knees, I won't take you out to sea!" Uncle Wen raged at Wen Nannan's door.
"You bastard, you good-for-nothing, If you don't want to deliver food, go clean the hallway. If you don't do anything, I'll have the captain throw you overboard."
Cleaning the corridor is better than delivering meals.
Sea Survival, Day 8, 6:30 AM
Wen Nannan was back to her original job.
However, Uncle Wen seemed determined not to let her have an easy time, deliberately assigning her to clean the corridor outside Xiao Li's room and the corridor outside the infirmary.
Bang, bang!
Whenever there is sound outside, the sound of the impact will come from inside. Wen Nannan stood at the door, Tiptoe up and look inside through the delivery window.
A roar, a violent impact, and then the sound of teeth scraping against the metal door, sending chills down her spine.
Wen Nannan looked at the tightly closed door and took a few steps back, worried that Xiaoli might break through and come out.
"Useless waste, coward!" Uncle Wen walked past and glared at Wen Nannan, kicking over the basin next to her. "You can't have breakfast until you clean it up."
The water in the basin swirled towards the drain, forming a whirlpool. The cleaner next to her sympathized with Wen Nannan, wondering how anyone could have such an uncle.
But Wen Nannan was staring fixedly at the small whirlpool in the drain.
"Auntie Li, I have a question. Where does this water go?"
"Of course, it's directly discharged into the sea." Auntie Li replied.
"Do you think we will recycle it? No way. We have special water filtration equipment that turns seawater into clean drinking water."
Wen Nannan nodded. "That's really convenient."
"For a young girl, you think a lot." Auntie Li smiled. "Today's breakfast is fish porridge. The sailors just caught some fresh fish."
Wen Nannan's eyes widened as she looked at Uncle Wen, who was carrying a bowl of fish porridge out of the dining hall.
