Survive as a Prison Guard in the Game

Chapter 108 - Preparation (2)

Chapter 108
Preparation (2)

Except for when he slept or ate, he spent all his time engaged in battle with Fabian.

The characteristic of vampires is that they don’t die easily.

Using that to his advantage, he pushed Fabian to the brink of death. Every time he hit his limit, Fabian would lose his sanity and awaken.

Repeating the process.

He realized the nature of his power and understood how to apply it.

And the result.

He is now able to use high-level blood arts without needing to be in an awakened state, and he is able to enter an awakened state of his own free will.

As time went on,

Fabian’s skills skyrocketed, so did his ability to push him over the edge.

Flurry of slashes.

Movements that were once chaotic were simplified and pushed to extreme speeds for their original purpose.

*Thud!*

The moment he stomped the ground, his perspective changed.

A swift attack that even Fabian’s unique ability couldn’t dodge. The sword pierced through Fabian’s heart.

“Ughh!”

After being pierced through the heart, Fabian quickly recovered from the wound using his Blood Art, forming a crown of blood and entering the Awakened state.

His expression became more relaxed.

The aura emanating from him was definitely different from the first time he saw it. At this rate, even entering the Darkness Seven would not be a problem for him.

He flicked off the blood on his sword.

“Let’s stop here.”

He sheathed his sword, Cairo, in its scabbard and took out the vials of elixir, tossing one to Fabian.

Fabian drank the potion and asked.

“So, now that we’re done training, are we going to battle?”

“That’s right.”

“Do you have a plan?”

“Uh.”

He led Fabian into the cave.

He sat down across from Vivian, who was guarding the campfire.

He opened his mouth as he watched Fabian sit down next to Vivian.

“I have information that the criminal organizations are meeting tomorrow for lunch.”

Information obtained through Marek.

Janus, Kenida, and Black Rose.

The three least powerful of the seven major criminal organizations would be meeting in secret to plan a strategy.

A secret, so to speak.

It was only logical that they would do so, and when he gave Marek the information on the organizations for him to investigate, he requested the location and date of the meeting.

“The meeting point is in the secret garden on the west side of Obelia, so if we go there first thing in the morning, we’ll be just in time.”

“So what’s the detailed plan?”

“Detailed plan?”

Redin smirked.

“None.”

“What?”

“Wipe them out and unify the organization. That’s it.”

The capital of the Oberg Empire.

Obelia.

Builders and wizards quickly rebuilt the castle, and many people began to flock to the capital.

Lodgings built around the castle.

One of them was an extravagant one.

[Janus].

A house created by the Criminal Organization Janus.

The Leader of the Organization, Kante, who was staying on the top floor, got out of bed and walked over to the window.

“Haaahhh…..”

Stretching, he lifted the coffee mug on the desk. Sipping the warm coffee lightly, he gazed out the window

People bustling around the lodging.

They had all gathered in the capital with the resurgence of the Oberg Empire.

“A land of opportunity.”

A place where criminals could become founding citizens and where slaves could become nobles. It was only natural that people would be drawn to this place.

The only exception.

The circumstances were less than favorable for those half-hearted.

“Mm-hmm.”

He downed the rest of his coffee and made his way to the door.

As he opened the door to his room, the maids who had been waiting for him approached and assisted him in his attire.

“We have prepared a carriage for you.”

He descended to the main floor and boarded the waiting carriage.

“Let’s go.”

The carriage started to travel slowly.

Kante took the cigar prepared inside the carriage and lit it. He took a big drawn puff and blew out a white smoke.

“Whew.”

Looking out the window, he turned to the subordinate beside him.

“What about Kenida and Black Rose?”

“I got a report saying they have left as well.”

“Tsk.”

Kante clicked his tongue and bit down on his cigar.

Pierre and Hekan.

The bosses of two criminal organizations had already been granted territory by the Emperor and were expanding their power.

Moreover,

They had even been inducted into a special organization called the Darkness Seven, which only a select few could join.

‘I suppose it won’t be long before they’ll be given the status of duke…..’

The Emperor of the Oberg Empire had declared that he would select 4 dukes. Only two spots were left.

Kenida and Black Rose.

Competing with those two would have been enough for the members of the Janus organization, but the situation was not favorable.

An influx of outsiders.

Instead of being absorbed into the criminal organization, the people seeking opportunity had formed their own factions.

Talented individuals from all over the world.

They were quickly establishing themselves, and even now, they were growing like crazy.

“How are the outsiders doing these days?”

“They’ve grown so large that they’ve split into two organizations. They’re probably trying to eat up the two remaining positions left for the Duke.”

“Fuck.”

One spot taken by the outsiders.

A three-way meeting had been called to see if they could join forces to take the remaining seat.

Even that didn’t look easy.

His cigar was dwindling as fast as his stomach was burning.

“Wheew.”

By the time he popped a new cigar into his mouth.

The carriage arrived at the meeting point.

A secret garden to the west of Obelia.

It had been the garden of an empress during the height of the Oberg Empire.

Kante peered through the window at the secret garden. The carriage that brought Kenida and the Black Rose’s leaders entered the secret garden.

“Isn’t things getting a little shitty?”

Kante sneered, noting those who normally would have been late for anything were arriving early.

“Maybe because they’re weaker than us, they’re in more of a hurry.”

At his subordinate’s words, Kante sighed.

“Tsk. Even if it’s a secret meeting, there’s probably someone watching from somewhere else, so keep an eye out and don’t let a rat get in.”

“Understood.”

Stepping out of the carriage, Kante walked and entered the secret garden.

Flowers are blooming everywhere.

At the far end of the trail was the villa used by the Empress. He entered the half-ruined villa.

A dilapidated place that could have fallen apart at any moment.

Walking over to the table in the center, he sat down. Shortly thereafter, the leaders of Kenida and Black Rose entered.

Briggs, who leads Kenida.

Kyri, leading the Black Rose.

As they sat down, the cooks who had been preparing in advance brought food and filled the table.

“Enjoy.”

Kante spoke up as he sliced the meat in the center and placed it on his plate.

“It’s all about eating and living, let’s eat first.”

“I don’t think things are quite so good for that, and we’re not here for lunch, are we?”

At Briggs’s sharp tone, Kante sliced the meat and shoved it into his mouth.

*Nom!* *Nom!*

Enjoying the tender meat and sweet sauce, wiping the sauce off the mouth with a napkin.

“Isn’t there only one answer anyway?”

Kyri nodded at Kante’s words.

“One. For us to join our forces.”

“Who doesn’t know? We have to talk about how we’re going to merge sooner rather than later, because if we keep this up, we’re going to lose the last two seats available.”

“How do we do this?”

Kyri asked, as she continued munching on her fruit.

“One of us will be the head, and the other two will crawl underneath.”

“Then you two can crawl under me.”

Kante mocked Briggs’ words.

“You’ll never be good enough for that.”

Kenida had once been a powerful organization behind Pierre and Hekan, but ever since Briggs became its boss, the organization had gone downhill.

A man with no talent yet with a big ego.

That’s exactly the kind of person Briggs was.

“I agree with you. If Briggs is in charge, we’ll just be handing the organization over to the outsiders, right?”

“You want to go to war with me? Fuck?”

“But… Kante, I’m not willing to go under you, so I want you both to go under Black Rose.”

It had always been like this.

There had been a few other attempts to combine forces before, but no one was willing to go under the others.

A situation that was fully expected.

They’d fight each other tooth and nail, and eventually they’d go their separate ways. If conversation doesn’t work, then unification by force will.

‘Idiots.’

Kante shoved the meat into his mouth and chewed, tapping his wine glass with the fork in his hand.

*Ting!*

*Ting!*

A signal to his people.

Any moment now, the subordinates who subdued the other gang members outside will arrive.

“Mmm….”

But the atmosphere was eerily quiet.

Kante furrowed his brow and glanced back outside.

Something was not right.

If they’d failed to suppress them, there should have been a response, but the absence of even that was disconcerting.

‘Did another faction storm in?’

He wondered, beginning to rise from his seat.

At the entrance to the villa, unknown figures appeared.

A man and a woman with pale faces.

They smelled of blood.

“Hey, who the fuck are you people?”

Briggs stood up and walked over to the other side. Kante looked at Briggs and sighed.

‘Moron…….’

At least that bait should give him an idea of who they’re dealing with. He stopped Kyri from rising to her feet and surveyed the situation.

“Is anyone out there? Get these bastards out of here quick….”

The woman next to him moved.

With a quick burst of speed, she lunged at Briggs, grabbed him by the throat, and lifted him up in one swift motion.

“Kuck!”

Briggs struggles for air.

His face turned a deep shade of blue, and he sagged as the woman’s hand snapped his neck.

*Thud!*

The woman threw Briggs across the entrance.

Kante’s men, who were supposed to be waiting at the entrance, rushed in and dragged Briggs away.

Red eyes and fangs visible for a brief moment.

“Vampires?”

“What? Vampires?”

Kyri’s surprise was brief.

The pale-faced man lunged, the corners of his mouth lifted. Kante scrambled to stand, channeling his mana.

His opponent was too fast.

*Chomp!*

The sensation of thick fangs sinking into his neck broke Kante’s concentration.

As he entered the villa, he saw the defeated bosses on the floor. Fabian looked at them before turning to acknowledge him.

“I’ve made them all into subordinates.”

“I want you to build an organization based on these guys.”

“Got it.”

“I need it done by the end of the day.”

Even with three organizations.

It couldn’t match Pierre and Hekan.

They needed to expand their power a bit more to reach that size.

“After that, we’ll focus on absorbing the broken Magnes organizations, growing our power and territory. If there’s anything you don’t know, it’ll be easy to use your subordinates.”

“Okay.”

“And this.”

From his subspace pouch, he pulled out two Fruit of False Truths and handed them to Fabian and Vivian.

“What is this?”

“A lifeline to safeguard you both.”

He explained how to use them briefly.

Instructing them to erase their memories of all contact with him, and fill them with something different.

So that Rodwell would not suspect when he read their memories with his Abyssal Eye.

“Lastly, simply ingest the fruit.”

After making sure they both swallowed the fruit, he turned to walk out of the villa.

“You’re doing great.”

“Are you going somewhere else?”

“Yeah.”

After infiltrating Darkness Seven.

There were too many restrictions to use Harungel’s swordsmanship.

He needed something else to use instead.

“Where to..”

“The Sether Ruins.”

The place where a family of druids once stood, now lost to the world. There, he plan to learn the secrets of the druids.
