Chapter 129 - Dragonian (4)
Chapter 129
Dragonian (4)
He found where Redis is located.
It’s difficult to move immediately with the clerics of the Demon Church awake and on the prowl.
Even if the main body comes.
Since he can’t use mana, it will be difficult for him to deal with the cultists, so he has to come prepared.
Hiding the shadow alter ego deep in the upper level cages, he sever the connection.
*Shhhh!*
His vision changed as he felt something being sucked away.
A simple tent with a cool wind breezing through.
His body was stiff from long periods of inactivity. With light movements, he stretched his muscles and stood up.
“Hmm….”
Originally, he was only going to rescue Redis, but he changed his plans.
An important laboratory of the Demon Church.
If he could wipe them out first, he could put a brake on whatever plans they were making, and he could get a lot of information while killing the priests.
It seemed disappointing to just get the skill from the Redis and be done with it.
“First.”
He needed to neutralize the magic field that covered the Demon Church, particularly the one that prevented anyone from using any kind of energy except demonic energy.
Without that, he could move around in his original body and eliminate the priests.
To do that, he needed someone with knowledge of magic circles, and he had just the right person. Heather, doing research in the Imperial Laboratory.
As a genius mage, Heather should be able to figure out how to disable it.
Thinking about what he needed in order to run amok in the Demon Church Laboratory, he went outside and activated Shadow Lord.
*Swoosh!*
He created a dragon and hopped on its back.
*FLAP* *FLAP!*
With a powerful flap of its wings, the dragon soared through the skies, and headed toward Heather’s location.
The Shadow Dragon travels at breakneck speed.
The distance is a bit far for him to run, but flying in the air allows him to travel at a tremendous speed, so he arrives within minutes.
He landed at the entrance, deactivated Lord Mode, and made his way inside.
Once he got past the golem guarding the gate and into the depths, Redin saw Heather with his glasses on, analyzing various things.
The place looks a lot different from when he first visited.
Several desks had been built next to the tent, and parchments with various formulas were stacked on top of them.
“Because this is like this…… maybe this is what it should look like.”
Hyper-focused.
Watching Heather, who didn’t even seem to notice him, he grabbed a piece of parchment and pen. Leaning against the wall next to the tent, he sat down.
Reconnecting with his shadow alter ego.
He began to trace the magic circles on the Demon Church’s stronghold. It was a complicated pattern, but not difficult to draw once he saw it.
He drew everything that he could see.
When he disconnected from the shadow alter ego, he saw Heather cooking, looking in his direction.
“When did you get here?”
“A little while ago.”
“I’ll call you.”
“You’ve been working so hard. How’s the research going? Is everything going well?”
“It’s fun. I’ve learned a lot of things I didn’t know, and every time I solve a problem, something new comes up, which makes it fun to do, you know?”
Redin handed the drawing to Heather, who was talking excitedly.
“Can you take a look at this one, too?”
“What’s this?”
Heather put down the ladle he was holding and looked at the picture carefully, a serious expression on his face.
He picked up the ladle and stirred it on behalf of Heather.
“Oh…… this looks like black magic?”
“It is.”
“It uses dark energy. It’s a little different than a normal magic circle, but the way it works isn’t too different, so I think I know what it is.”
Heather looked up from the drawing and looked at him.
“But why did you draw this?”
“I need your help. I need to know how to disarm that magic circle.”
“Disarm? Wait a minute.”
Heather grabbed a fresh piece of parchment, drew a magic circle on it, and began scribbling intricate symbols and descriptions.
Words that were hard to digest.
After Heather finished, he handed the parchment to Redin, but it was still a little hard to comprehend.
Although he could copy Heather’s talent.
If he copy Redis’s skill, he could use magic. There was no need to copy Heather’s talent.
“Is there an easier way to do this?”
“I can write it all down…… Hmm. Hold on.”
Heather pulled a magic stone out of his bag.
Holding it in one hand, Heather spun the circle and concentrated. His brow furrowed slightly. Fingers moving quickly.
With each movement of Heather’s fingers, the magic stone was carved and a magic circle was drawn around it, emitting a unique aura.
One, two, three…….
When Heather had finished processing several magic stones, he placed them in a sack and presented it to Redin.
Then, he held up three magic stones.
“These are the magic stones that will disarm each of the three circles you showed me. Throw them according to the pattern and they will activate.”
“Thank you.”
“I made four of each to be safe. Do you need more?”
“That’s enough.”
He took the sack, stuffed it into his subspace pouch, and ate a simple dinner of bread with the soup Heather was making.
“How long do you think this will take?”
“I estimate about a month, if I take it easy.”
“That fast?”
“There was a little bit of a snag earlier, and when I saw the magic circle you brought, it sparked something, and once I used that, things cleared up a bit.”
‘What a crazy talent.’

After a brief exchange of pleasantries with Heather.
He reconnected with his shadowy alter ego and assessed the situation at the Demon Church stronghold.
It seemed like he’d made a mess of things.
The atmosphere inside the branch was tense. The eyes of the security personnel were sharp, in addition to the number of clerics on duty doubling.
*Shhhh*
As he made his way underground, avoiding the priests, he eavesdropped on the conversation among the demon cultists.
“I don’t understand why we’re being pulled over like this, it’s obviously a case of mismanagement.”
“It’s the Demon God’s will.”
“Do you think the Demon God would tell the priests about all this?”
“You’ll only get yourself dragged away, man. Watch what you say.”
“Use a little common sense. There’s no way someone could sneak in here without being detected. We have tight security procedures in place every day, and we incinerate the test subjects ourselves when they die, and keep logs.”
“That’s true.”
“Shit. The electrical supply room is back up and running, and we haven’t seen any other signs of intruders all day…… I just want to get some sleep.”
“I agree. I could use a good night’s sleep.”
Passing the small grumbling group, he could see through the transparent windows to a room filled with priests.
Priests praying with inverted crosses in their hands.
One praying with his eyes closed, the other keeping watch over the facility with his eyes alert.
If he walked any further, they’d detect him.
Although he was prepared, he didn’t think it would be a big deal if they discovered him, but since he had a plan in place, he patiently waited.
Redin wondered how much time had passed.
The security personnel moved to take their rounds, while the people who had finished their watch went to the priests to report.
He made a dagger out of the shadows and threw it at the surveillance sphere that hovered up and down in the center.
*Crackle!*
*Thump*
The surveillance sphere lost its energy and fell to the floor. The priest watching inside frowned and stood up.
He dashed out, passing by the demon cultist who came to change shifts.
Raising his demonic energy, he took advantage of the opportunity to use dark magic.
A moment of surging demonic energy.
At this point, even the most sensitive of priests would have trouble differentiating between the power of the shadows.
He slipped further down towards the laboratory and used shadow movement to teleport his body.
“It’s slimy.”
Demonic Energy slithered through his body.
Clenching and unclenching his fists, a smile spread across his lips.
It was time to start wreaking havoc.
From the subspace pouch, he pulled out the magic stones Heather had made for him, then created a shadow alter ego and passed the stones to each one.
“Let’s begin.”
The shadow alter ego moved swiftly, embedding the magic stones in the magic circles that covered the walls.
*Ooooohhh!*
*Ooooooooohhh!*
The magic circle that had been radiating black light stopped glowing and stopped working.
Without setting off any alarms.
Aside from a small rumbling from above, there was no sign of any significant activity.
Moreover.
His body began to well up with mana. He needed something to stall for time before he made his way down to the Redis.
Harungel’s second sword.
Taking out Moonlight, he filled it with mana and swung it forward. The long aura blade flew out in a half-moon shape.
*Craaassh!*
The entire laboratory was destroyed, and the shadow alter egos rushed in and released the Demi-human species that had been being experimented on.
“Keaauuuaaah!”
“GRAAAAAHHH!”
With fury on their faces, the Demi-human people rushed out of the lab and jumped to the surface.
Starting from the top and working their way down, using the shadow alter egos to open all the cages, the Demi-human grew in numbers.
“This should be enough.”
He recalled his shadows back and opened the secret passage that the priest had opened last time.
He’d seen it once before.
Finding the hidden button wasn’t too difficult. He channeled the power of the shadows into the button, and the secret door opened.
A passage gradually unveiled.
Quickly, he made his way down the stairs. There was only one path, and it led straight into a massive laboratory.
A transparent glass in the center.
Inside the giant glass, filled with a clear liquid, was a woman with flowing red hair.
Handcuffs cuffed around her arms and legs.
A pure white prisoner’s uniform draped over her body.
The red scales on her forehead were identical to those of dragons.
“Redis Kairov.”
He approached the glass, seeing the face that looked exactly like the illustration in his memory.
Clenching his fist, he punched it against the glass.
A powerful strike with the full strength of the [Black Bear Paw].
*Whaam!*
A massive shockwave slammed into the glass, but it didn’t take effect. This time he formed an Aura Blade and swung it at the glass.
*Claaang!*
Not a single crack in the glass.
“What the hell is this made of?”
Shaking my head, he brought the sword up and plunged it between his chest, a painful stab that caused his blood to dribble out.
Immediately, a searing heat rose.
[Triggers Blazing Soul (EX)].
With a burst of power, he activated the Archmage’s Desire. In preparation to pour forth all the power he had.
To start, Redin used Shapeshift.
A blue phoenix appeared and flew toward the glass where Redis was, and on top of it he used Harungel’s Sword Skill, containing all his energy.
Mid-Tier Phase 1, Secondary Form.
Half-Moon Slash.
A phoenix with an azure flame, followed by an aura blade of immense power.
*CRAAAASSHHH!*
*RUUMMBLEEESS!*
The basement shook with the immense force, and everything in the vicinity was swept away.
The glass windows began to crack.
The cracks grew larger, unable to withstand the force.
*Craack!*
The glass shattered, the liquid inside spilled out, and the body of Redis, who was being held down by the chains, fell out.
He rushed forward and caught Redis’s body.
As he stared down at Redis’ limp, unconscious body, he felt a strange presence and turned his head to look toward the corridor.
A gray-haired man with an eerie aura.
A man dressed in the robes of a Demon Church priest looked at him and smiled.
“I caught a rat.”
A badge in the shape of a hat pinned to the old man’s robes. It was a sign of recognition given to the best of the priests.
“Chief Priest?”
“Hoo. If you even know that, then I can’t let you go.”
The Chief Priest pulled up a large amount of demonic energy.
He raised an eyebrow at the priest who was treating him like a cornered rat.
“Well, that’s good. I’ve been meaning to ask you something.”
Laying Redis on the ground.
[Do you want to use the Copy skill?]
‘Yes.’
[Copies the Red Dragon Body].
