Survive as a Prison Guard in the Game

Chapter 131 - Sinister (1)

Chapter 131
Sinister (1)

Redis is following closely behind.

As Redis walked around, her eyes wandering in wonder, he opened his mouth.

“Can I ask you a question?”

“What?”

“You were wary of me at first, why did you change your mind?”

It wasn’t like he’d had a deep conversation with her like the hero did, and he wondered why she’d suddenly decided to follow him.

“Dad. Scent.”

Not exactly the same smell.

It seemed that something had happened when he’d copied the Red Dragon’s Body.

Redis held a finger to the side of his face, indicating that she was upset.

“I didn’t know.”

Does that mean she was too angry to realize it at first?

Having spent much more time confined in the laboratory than living life conversing with people, Redis could only manage limited verbal exchange.

It doesn’t bother him too much.

After a month of being around people, she’ll be absorbing information like crazy. Eventually, it’ll get to a point where holding a conversation won’t be a problem.

*Crack*

*Rumble*

Stopping in his tracks, he looked down.

Through the gaping hole, he could see the entirety of the demon church’s basement.

Closing his eyes, he focused on heightening his senses.

He scanned the area for any surviving cultists, but there was no indication of any kind of life.

“What ar yu doin?”

“I’m just confirming in case any of our enemies are still alive, they might come after us.”

“Where. Going?”

“I’m going to where the Sinister is, and finish up the matter in The Adrian Kingdom.

However, he couldn’t take Redis with him.

If they traveled together, it’d be like they were announcing, ‘I’m here.’

“I’m going to go where my good friends are.”

He was about to use his Lord Mode, but paused and retracted the Power of Shadows.

The essence of the [Shadow Arts] is demonic energy.

If he used it, Redis could be rendered insane again. From his subspace pouch, he retrieved a teleportation scroll.

Using it here would leave a trace of mana behind.

It wouldn’t be a problem if he could just get her there and come back and erase the evidence.

“Hold my arm.”

“Kay.”

*Flash!*

As soon as he tore the scroll, a bright light came up and their surroundings had changed. Feeling a tightening grip on his arm, he looked up at Redis, whose eyes were shut tightly.

She’d never experienced teleportation magic before.

“Redin? You’re back?”

He turned his head to look at Heather and raised his left hand.

“Just stopping by to introduce you to someone.”

“Who is it, your girlfriend?”

Heather gave him a mischievous look. He shrugged and answered.

“Not my girlfriend. Her name is Redis Kairov. Say hello.”

“Hi, I’m Heather.”

“Heather?”

Redis stared at Heather with a muffled enunciation, then looked away, showing disinterest.

“Human. Don’t like.”

“He’s my best friend, and he’ll teach you tons of things if you stay with him.”

“Revenge.”

“I need to find out where our enemies are, so I want you to wait. If you wander around now, you’ll be an easy target for them.”

Redis pursed her lips.

It was like watching a younger sister, being so immature. Still, there was nothing to be done.

If he takes her to the Sinister.

She’d get rid of it before they ever got to the Adrian Kingdom.

“You’ll stay here for a month, while Heather teaches you about the world, and while I track down our enemies.”

“…..”

Redis nodded begrudgingly.

He approached Heather, who didn’t know what was going on, and whispered quietly.

“Redis is actually a half-dragon.”

“Heok!”

Redin briefly explained what had all happened so far. Heather nodded and gave him a thumbs-up when he understood everything.

“Leave it to me.”

“You think you can do a good job?”

“Uh.”

The reason for leaving it to Heather was partly due to his good nature, but mainly to push his magical talents to the extreme.

The talent of Redis and of Heather.

If the two could work together, the progress of the research would be much faster.

“Oh. And one more thing.”

“What is it?”

“Teach me some magic.”

Learning to do magic was easy.

Although his brain didn’t quite understand, his body performed the movements naturally due to the Red Dragon’s Body.

Just as Heather was instructing him.

He just listened and the mana moved on its own, and the magic materialized. He learned enough spells for one day.

“I’ll be going then.”

After parting ways with Heather and Redis.

He returned to the Demon God Church’s laboratory and erased all traces of his use of magic.

Afterward, he used Lord Mode to summon a dragon.

*Flap* *Flap*

He took off into the sky and headed to the location of the Sinister. Near the kingdom of Adrian, the Sinister was nestled in a lava cave.

An active volcano in the western part of the kingdom.

The Sinister lay dormant on an active volcanic crater bubbling with hot magma.

During his flight toward that place.

Seated on the shadow dragon’s back, he went over his plan in light of the information he had obtained.

“My Goal…..”

When he first woke up in this world and saw Bahad, he swore to himself that he would stop the opening of the Portal to the Demon Realm and prevent the resurgence of Baal.

However,

That changed a bit when he stormed one of the branches of the Demon Church to rescue Redis.

Before they could open the gate.

If he made the first move and destroyed the Demon Church, they wouldn’t be able to open the Gate to the Demon Realm and would be unable to resurrect the Demon God.

“It’s worth a try.”

The main temple, which is the heart of the Demon Church.

It’s never revealed in the game, but through Rodwell, one of their experimental subjects, he can learn enough to figure out where they are.

“The problem is the Twelve Apostles.”

Beings above the Chief Priest.

There was less available information about who they were, what powers they possessed, and what forces they had.

Also, what they were planning.

There was no way to know how far along those plans were.

“Huu….”

That was it for the time being.

He could expand the direction and then reorient it once he got more information from Rodwell.

*Whooosh!*

When he regained his wits, the shadow dragon was descending toward the ground. In the distance, he could see a volcano churning with magma.

A volcano that looked like two craters joined together.

Within the figure-eight shape of the volcano, magma was rising, and the surrounding area was littered with rocks formed by the cooling of the flowing magma.

“Let’s see.”

Pulling out Rodwell’s instructions from his pocket, he reads through it. Now that he has everything in place, he moves forward to the location.

-Locate a crater with a crescent-shaped rock formation, and use the glacial stone to descend to the bottom of the magma.

-After descending while facing the inside of the crescent rock formation, you must take two steps backward as soon as your feet touch the ground.

Flying low near a volcanic crater, scanning the surroundings.

Of the two craters, the one with the crescent moon-shaped rock was on the right. Recalling back the Shadow Dragon, standing on the rock.

*Gurggle* *Gurggle*

He could feel the heat from the magma pooling around the rock. Taking out the glacial stone he had prepared earlier, Redin grasped it in his hand.

The cold energy from the glacial stone enveloped his body, shielding him from the heat.

“You want me to go down here?”

He created a shadow alter ego and positioned it on the rock.

Then.

Without hesitation, he gripped the glacial stone tightly and launched himself. With the sticky sensation of falling into a swamp, he was sucked in.

He wondered how far he had descended.

Something crunched under his feet. Regaining his balance, he did as the instructions said and took two steps backward.

A small area with no magma flowing through it.

A square wall in the ceiling held the magma at bay. In the center of the magma pouring out on all sides was a path leading downward.

“And then…..”

To continue down this path.

Walking down the carefully constructed stairs, he gripped his sword in case any enemies jumped out at him.

With his left hand, he cast a spell.

[Light.]

Mana gathered in his hand, creating a bright light. He tossed it down the stairs, keeping a steady and measured pace.

At the end of the stairway, there was a door.

It was firmly sealed, but there was a hole for a key. A door that could only be opened by using demonic energy. The written instructions stated to use a magic circle.

Harnessing the power of the shadows, he filled the key-shaped slot and turned it.

*Clank!*

The door swung open, revealing the interior.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

A cavern of stalactites covered the ceiling above, and green liquid dripped from their tips onto the floor.

As it did so, there was the sound of something sizzling and a wisp of green smoke.

[You have been poisoned with a lethal poison.]

Before it could take effect, the power of purification flushed out the poison from his body.

Although his body was free of the poison.

His equipment wasn’t.

As his foot lightly brushed against the puddle of poison on the floor, his shoes slightly melted and smoldered.

The route was blocked by a series of poisonous stalactites.

He created a shadow alter ego.

With it, he smashed all the stalactites to open a path. Protecting the soles of his shoes with mana, he walked deeper.

There were five doors ahead this time.

They were designed to trick anyone who entered. However, he already knew the answers thanks to the instruction letter.

He entered through the fourth door.

The instruction stated that the other doors contained various traps, some of which would make it difficult to get back out.

As the instructions indicated, there were no traps inside the fourth door.

He reached the last door described in the directive.

“Hmmm….”

One question came to mind.

Someone had to have carved this path. The Demon Church must have laid it out, and certainly knew of this location.

But why hadn’t they sent their priests and left Rodwell to do the work?

If they had sent the priests, they could have used the Sinister at full power long ago.

“It doesn’t matter.”

Whatever Rodwell and the Demon God Church have planned.

It wouldn’t make a difference to him.

Lifting his head, he stared at the last door.

The presence inside was intense enough to send chills down his spine.

But that was all it was.

If there was something truly dangerous, the Eye of Arrakis would have been triggered, but it showed no such sign.

“Let’s go.”

He pushed open the last door.

*Creak!*

A blast of heat rushed through the door. Beyond the fully opened door was a floor filled with magma.

There wasn’t a single surface to step on.

And at the end of the red carpet of magma was something wrapped in black chains.

Chains wrapped as tightly as a chrysalis.

Despite the fact that he couldn’t feel a speck of demonic energy, he instinctively recognized it instantly.

“Sinister.”

Another name for the Primordial Demon.

Beings that grew in power by consuming the flesh of the Demon God, calamities that couldn’t be compared to a priest or chief priest.

He shuddered at the sight of the Monster.

Tossing the spare glacial stone forward, the magma cooled quickly, creating solid ground.

Following the path, he made his way over to where Sinister lay.

Standing before the chained Sinister, he raised his sword.

“Did it say to break the chains and rouse the demon from its slumber by feeding it with demon flesh?”

He formed an Aura Blade and hacked through the chains in front of him. A hideous creature was revealed from within the broken chains.

A tentacle shaped mouth across its chest.

As he stared at it, he pulled an item from his subspace pouch. Something that was prepared before coming here.

A piece of the demon god’s flesh.

He threw it into the Sinister’s mouth.

“Time to wake up and go on a rampage.”
