Chapter 8: 008 Can't the Princely Heir let go of it?_1
Just as she was about to take over the whole bed, Jiang Shu suddenly stretched out his hand and grabbed her ankle.
The soft and smooth skin, carrying the fresh scent of grass and trees, unexpectedly stirred Jiang Shu's heart.
He glanced at Su Luo's foot.
As the Barbarians did not bind their feet, Su Luo's footpads were fair and delicate, as beautiful as mutton fat jade.
"Let go of me!" Su Luo tugged a few times, but couldn't move.
Jiang Shu pressed down on the restless foot with force, then started coughing violently. He looked annoyed and impatient, "Just sleep like this, or I fear you'll kick me off the bed in the middle of the night!"
With that, he closed his eyes.
What the heck?
Su Luo stared at her captured foot, completely baffled.
Yet, after failing to struggle free multiple times, she gave up. Spent from the day's events, she was desperately tired. Both of them maintained this odd sleeping position and drifted off to sleep.
She was startled awake by a shriek.
The maids who came in to tidy up the room early in the morning were terrified to see the Princely Heir sitting upright on the edge of the bed, holding the young Madam's jade foot in hand.
The Imperial Physician had already diagnosed the Princely Heir as frail with an enraged heart, possibly not going to last long. Moreover, the maids had already spread throughout the courtyard the torturous events of yesterday caused by the unruly master and servant, leading everyone to believe that the Princely Heir indeed wouldn't make it.
Could it be that his condition had improved due to a sudden stroke of joy?
As the maid rejoiced, she raised her eyes to meet the Princely Heir's complete displeasure, his lips pursed into a rigid straight line.
The maid immediately fled in panic, forgetting her joy. She had forgotten that the Princely Heir detests being disturbed when he sleeps, leading to his severe morning grumpiness.
Jiang Shu could have slept longer, but Su Luo rolled into his arms in the middle of the night. It's impressive how her body could be so supple to fall asleep in such a bizarre position.
His body was cold, but she was hot like a fire...
When Su Luo woke up in fear, she found her foot still held by the man.
No wonder she had dreamed all night of being wrapped by a snake. This misfortune must be this man's fault. She must block him!
With her fair toes pressed against the man's chest, her breeches slipped, revealing a large portion of her creamy white leg.
Her eyes were filled with shimmering water waves and a cheerful smile, "Just one night and the Princely Heir is already so reluctant to let go?"
As soon as her words fell, a light cough sounded in her ear.
Turning her head, Su Luo saw a Mother leading two maids standing at the entrance, and next to her, a girl who looked about 15 or 16.
Caught in the act, even with Su Luo's thick skin, she couldn't help but blush. Hastily, she pulled back her feet, also tugging down the legs of her trousers.
The Mother's mouth twitched.
Isn't it a bit late to cover up now?
The young Miss had an ugly expression on her face, her gaze like venom. But when she turned to Jiang Shu, it immediately switched to admiration and shyness, her voice timid, "Cousin..."
Jiang Shu covered his mouth to cough a few times. His sleeve slipped, revealing a white and slender arm. He asked indifferently, "What is it?"
The Mother stepped forward, "The Commandery Princess was very pleased to see the Princely Heir awaken, and asked me to bring the Prefectural Doctor to see you. Also, I came to clean up the beddings for the Princely Heir and Madam."
Jiang Shu nodded, stood up and went to the parlour. He walked slowly, still panting slightly, his thin back evoking unlimited pity.
Seeing his lordship, the long-waiting Prefectural Doctor immediately stepped forward. A moment later, his face lit up with joy, "Although the Princely Heir's disease hasn't completely disappeared, it has improved significantly. Congratulations, Princely Heir!"
Jiang Shu's face remained cold and indifferent. He started coughing again. his pupils slightly narrowed. His voice now had strength, "My illness has only improved slightly, it hasn't significantly improved, understand?"
