Chapter 4: Chapter 3 – New Housemates

Third person POV

"Dude, keep it down," Shuto said to him.

But that person couldn't hear him because the TV was loud.

So, Shuto went to him and muted the TV's volume with its remote control, causing that person to have his game interrupted.

"Hey, what?" that person, Minato Arakaki, said to him.

"Dude, you're so loud you couldn't hear me," Shuto responded back, "plus, we have a new housemate here, so say hi to him."

 "Where?"

Shuto then pointed at Roxas, who merely watched the whole thing.

Upon seeing him, Minato was surprised but became welcoming to him. "Oh, hello there, you must be a new student in our school, right?"

"Yes, I am," Roxas replied back in unease, "my name is Roxas Nietes of the Philippines. Nice to meet you."

He then bowed his head quickly as a greeting.

"Woah, nice to meet you, Ro-kun," Minato, a boy with red, messy hair and green hair, responded enthusiastically, before walking over to him and shaking his hand for a few seconds. "My name is Minato Arakaki. Welcome to our home."

Shuto realized that someone else wasn't present there and looked at the staircase. "Koyuki-chan! We have a new housemate here! Come down and say hi to him!"

Roxas looked at it. "Huh? Someone else is here, too?"

"Yes, we had another housemate," Minato said to him. "She's a girl."

Then, a girl with long, blue hair and black eyes, Koyuki Furutani, came downstairs holding a sketching pencil while looking shy. "Y-Yes?"

"Koyuki-chan, we had a new housemate here," Shuto said to her, before looking at Roxas.

"Nice to meet you, too." Roxas bowed his head quickly at her. "My name is Roxas Nietes of the Philippines. I'm your new housemate."

Koyuki set foot on the first floor and bowed her head at him deeply for a few seconds. "N…Nice to meet you. M…My name is Furutani Koyuki."

"Wow, nice name," Roxas happily responded.

This compliment made Koyuki blushed a bit.

Minato then went back to his gaming and unmuted the TV's volume but keeping it down a bit.

After that, Shuto asked Roxas what was his room number. Roxas then showed him his room key. "It's Room 3."

"Oh, okay," Shuto replied back, before carrying Roxas' roller bag. "I'll help you out. Come with me."

Both Roxas and Shuto went upstairs to Roxas' designated room.

There Roxas used the key to open the door, revealing a very roomy and nice room of his own. The room was clean and like that of a Japanese one. There is a bed, a desk, a chair, a wardrobe, a bookshelf, a nightstand, and a trash can; all of them are the essentials for a student like him. Also, the room was air-conditioned as well.

"Woah, look at this," Roxas commented, before stepping in and unloading his backpack and messenger bag.

He then placed them on the bed, and Shuto entered in and placed his roller bag next to the desk.

"Nice, isn't it?" Shuto asked him with a smile.

"Yeah, it was," replied Roxas, "thanks."

 "You're welcome."

Shuto then grabbed the chair and sat on it. "So, a long journey from your home country, wasn't it?"

"Yeah, it was," Roxas responded back, "I had to wake up at 5 a.m. because my flight is at 7:10 a.m."

 "Wow, early bird flight."

Roxas then chuckled a bit. "Yeah, it was. 4 hours in the plane, plus a transfer flight at Manila."

 "Why?"

"Because the airport of my hometown, Iloilo City, don't do direct flights to Japan. So, I had to take a connecting flight in Manila to get here."

"Ah, now I see. Must be a bit tough to go alone, right?"

"Yeah, it was. I got a permit to travel solo without a guardian."

 "Oh, good for you, man."

 "Thank you."

Roxas then thought. "Man, he doesn't know my cultural background…"
