Chapter 5: Chapter 5 - Mrs. Silver

After finishing practice, Mohamed headed to his next class, which was Arcana. Arcana is a subject that explores the hidden and mystical forces in the world. It encompasses the study of Gifts, Awakening, and other related topics. Mohamed had always been fascinated by the supernatural and the idea of possessing special abilities.

As he walked into the classroom, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The Arcana classroom was a state-of-the-art learning environment that seamlessly blended traditional teaching methods with cutting-edge technology. The room's futuristic ambiance immediately struck Mohamed. The walls were adorned with sleek, silver panels that shimmered and glowed in the light.

The floor was made of a polished, dark wood that reflected the glow of the panels, giving the room a sense of depth and dimensionality. The desks were arranged in a circular pattern, with each student facing the center of the room. The desks themselves were equipped with advanced holographic displays that could project 3D images and videos, allowing students to interact with complex concepts in a highly immersive and engaging way.

At the front of the room, Mrs. Silver stood at a sleek, futuristic podium that seemed to be made of a gleaming, metallic material. The podium was equipped with a advanced AI-powered teaching assistant that could provide real-time feedback and support to students.

Behind Mrs. Silver, a massive, curved screen stretched across the entire width of the room, displaying a dizzying array of images, videos, and data visualizations. The screen was capable of displaying multiple streams of information simultaneously, allowing Mrs. Silver to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.

As Mohamed took his seat, he felt a sense of excitement and wonder. The Arcana classroom was truly a cutting-edge learning environment, and he felt privileged to be a part of it. "Welcome, students," Mrs. Silver said, her voice warm and inviting. "Today, we're going to explore the concept of Gifts and Awakening. Who here has heard of the Awakening process?" A few students' hands shot up. Mrs. Silver smiled.

Mrs. Silver is a wise and experienced mentor who had gone through the Awakening process herself. She was a tall woman, standing at around 5'7" with a slender yet athletic build. Her facial features were delicate yet striking, with high cheekbones and a small nose. Her hair was a rich, dark brown color that fell in loose waves down her back. She had a warm and friendly aura about her, and the students couldn't help but feel at ease in her presence.

"Excellent," Mrs. Silver continued. "The Awakening process is a ritual that allows individuals to tap into their hidden potential and unlock their Gifts. Gifts are special abilities that are unique to each individual and can range from telekinesis, super strength, shape-shifting, and so on." Mohamed's eyes widened as he listened, his mind racing with the possibilities.

Mrs. Silver explained that the Outworlds had taught humans how to tap into their hidden potential using the Rite Stone. "The Rite Stone is a whitish, transparent, shining stone used to connect humans to the Outworlds' energy grid," she said.

Mohamed felt a surge of determination. He was going to do everything in his power to be one of the select few who underwent the Awakening process.

"But before you can even think about mastering a Gift, you have to undergo the Awakening process," Mrs. Silver said, her expression serious. "And that's not going to be easy."

"But be warned, the Awakening is not for everyone," Mrs. Silver cautioned, her eyes glinting with a hint of warning. "You'll be facing real challenges. I know some of you will be thinking it's just a matter of holding an old stone and waiting for it to change color."

"No... the process is more complicated than that," Mrs. Silver explained. "During the Awakening process, you'll be connected to the Outworlds' energy grid. Your mind will be teleported to the Hallows, where your will will be tested."

"The energy there will flow through you, awakening your dormant cells," Mrs. Silver continued. "But if you fail, you may die there or become a vegetable."

Mohamed felt a shiver run down his spine as he listened to Mrs. Silver's words. He had never imagined that the Awakening process could be so dangerous.

"But if you succeed, you'll be given a Gift that will change your life forever," Mrs. Silver said, smiling. "That's why the Simi Rite Stone was introduced. The Simi Rite Stone is the basic version of the Rite Stone."

Mrs. Silver walked over to a small, ornate box on her desk and opened it, revealing a small, shining stone. "This is a Simi Rite Stone," she explained. "It's a special tool that can detect the prowes affinity of an individual."

Mohamed's eyes widened as he looked at the stone in awe. He had heard of Simi Rite Stones before, but he had never seen one up close.

Mrs. Silver held out the stone and smiled. "Each of you will come up and hold the stone. It will then display your prowes affinity score."

Mohamed felt a surge of nervousness as he waited for his turn. He had always wondered what his prowes affinity score would be, and now he was about to find out.

As each student came up to hold the stone, Mrs. Silver would announce their score. Mohamed watched anxiously as his classmates took their turns, wondering what his own score would be.

Finally, it was Mohamed's turn. He walked up to Mrs. Silver, took a deep breath, and held out his hand to take the stone. As soon as he touched the stone, it began to glow brighter, and the glow intensified to an almost blinding level.

Numerous notifications popped up in Mohamed's line of sight, and the room fell silent. Mrs. Silver's eyes widened in shock as she stared at the stone.

"Impossible," she whispered. "Mohamed, your prowes affinity score is... 100%!"

The room erupted into chaos as the students gasped and whispered to each other.

"That's impossible!" someone exclaimed.

"The stone must be faulty!" another student chimed in.

But Mrs. Silver shook her head. "No, the stone is not faulty. It's simply... unprecedented. A 100% affinity score has never been recorded before."

As the news sank in, the classroom erupted into a flurry of whispers and gasps. Mohamed's classmates stared at him in awe, some of them taking a step back as if he was somehow different now.

Mrs. Silver raised her hands, calling for silence. The room fell silent as Mrs. Silver announced the scores. Only three students scored 70% or higher. Brad, Mohamed's cousin, scored 82%. Angle, the most beautiful girl in school, scored 88%. And Mohamed, with a perfect score of 100%.

She turned to Mohamed, her eyes shining with curiosity. "Mohamed, it seems that you have a perfect affinity for the Awakening process. This is extremely rare, and it means that you have a significantly increased success rate in passing the Awakening test."

Mohamed felt his mind reeling as he tried to process the implications. He had always known that the Awakening test was a challenging and unpredictable process, but he had never imagined that he had such a strong affinity for it.

As the class continued, Mrs. Silver explained that Mohamed's perfect affinity score meant that he would have a much higher chance of passing the Awakening test. If he were to pass, he would be granted incredible abilities that would set him apart from others.

But as the excitement built up, Mohamed couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. He felt like he was being watched, and he couldn't help but wonder what the consequences of his perfect affinity score would be.

As the class came to a close, Mrs. Silver handed Mohamed and the other two students a small, leather-bound book. "This is a special textbook, designed for students who have higher affinity scores. It will help you to prepare for the Awakening test and to understand the abilities that you may be granted."

Mohamed took the book, feeling a sense of trepidation. He knew that his life was about to change in ways that he couldn't even imagine.

Mohamed walked into the library, the silence a welcome respite from the excitement of the morning's class. He found a quiet corner and sat down, opening the leather-bound book that Mrs. Silver had given him.

As he began to read, he learned that only 10% of the human population had ever awakened an ability. Mohamed felt a sense of honor and pride, knowing that he had a chance to join this exclusive group. But he also felt a sense of fear and trepidation, knowing that failure in the Awakening test could lead to death or a vegetative state.

The book explained that abilities were classified into six ranks: A, B, C, D, E, and then the rare and powerful S and SS ranks. The book explained that the ranking system was based on the ability's power, versatility, and rarity.

Mohamed's eyes widened as he read through the examples of abilities listed in the book. There was "Shadow Walk", a B-ranked ability that allowed the user to move through shadows. "Healing Hands", a C-ranked ability that enabled the user to heal wounds and ailments. And "Elemental Control", an A-ranked ability that granted the user control over the elements of nature.

As he read on, Mohamed came across the S and SS ranked abilities. These were truly exceptional abilities, possessed by only a handful of individuals. "Time Manipulation", an SS-ranked ability that allowed the user to control time itself. "Reality Distortion", an S-ranked ability that enabled the user to warp reality.

Mohamed's mind reeled as he tried to comprehend the sheer power of these abilities. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of ability he would be granted if he were to pass the Awakening test.

As he delved deeper into the book, Mohamed discovered that the Awakening test was not just a simple test of magical ability. It was a test of one's character, courage, and determination. The test would push him to his limits, forcing him to confront his deepest fears and doubts.

Mohamed felt a shiver run down his spine as he read the final sentence of the chapter. "Those who emerge victorious from the Awakening test will be granted an ability that will change their life forever."

Mohamed closed the book, his mind racing with thoughts and questions. He couldn't believe that he had a perfect affinity score, and that he had a chance to acquire an incredibly powerful ability.

As he sat in the library, he noticed a few students glancing at him, whispering to each other. Mohamed realized that the news of his perfect affinity score must have spread quickly. He felt a mix of emotions: excitement, nervousness, and a hint of fear. What kind of ability would he acquire if he passed?

Mohamed decided to head to the school's cafeteria to grab a snack and clear his head. As he walked in, he noticed Brad and Angel sitting at a table, looking at him with a mixture of curiosity and admiration.

But Brad's expression quickly turned sour as he gazed at Mohamed. "Well, well, well," Brad sneered. "Look who got a perfect affinity score. I'm shocked."

Mohamed felt a surge of tension as he approached the table. He knew that Brad had always seen him as a rival, and now it seemed that Brad was jealous of his perfect score.

"What's it to you, Brad?" Mohamed asked calmly, trying not to rise to Brad's bait.

Brad snorted. "Nothing, just that I'm surprised you were able to get a perfect score. I mean, you're not exactly the most talented guy in school. But don't get too cocky, Mohamed. I'm still going to pass the Awakening test, and you're going to fail. Mark my words."

Mohamed felt a surge of anger, but he kept his cool. He knew that Brad was just trying to get under his skin, and he wasn't going to let him succeed.

"I'm not worried about you, Brad," Mohamed said calmly. "I'm focused on my own training, and I'm confident that I'll pass the Awakening test."

Brad snorted. "We'll see about that," he said, turning back to his food.

Mohamed shrugged and walked away, feeling a sense of unease. He couldn't shake the feeling that Brad's threats were more than just empty words. He felt a sense of foreboding, like something was waiting for him just around the corner.

As he walked home, Mohamed's mind was preoccupied with thoughts of the Awakening test and Brad's threats.
