Chapter 26: [Volume 1] Chapter 26- Tired
Jiho soon continued her work, stealing a quick glance. She noticed her new husband still standing there in shock as she put her hand on her heart, which was beating too fast.
'Why the hell did I do something like this? Damn Li Jiho, when did you become a hooligan? Kissing a mer, literally, you are kissing a man. Jiho, when did you become such an animal? But logically, they are my husbands, so... it's not wrong, right?' Jiho's face flushed as she contemplated, and soon...
*Slap.*
Hearing the loud sound, Su brothers looked towards the source with shocked expressions and saw Jiho, whose face had a red handprint.
"Wife," Ji-hoon looked at Jiho, who was still arranging the table like nothing happened.
"Yes?" Hearing Ji-hoon's voice, Jiho looked back at him with a smile that made him shiver more.
"Um... your face." Still gathering courage, he pointed at her face.
"Oh, this. It's just a mosquito bite." Jiho smiled and continued arranging the dinner table.
'Oh, is that so?' Su brother looked at Jiho with a blank expression.
"Guys, food is ready.",jiho who already from her husband's face that her last bit of dignity is gone .
'waah',even jiho does not know how many time she slapped her self in her mind , after she calm down she looked at her husband's again who looked at her with pitiful eyes.
'you guys....' Jiho slapped her head lightly not knowing what to say anymore .
"Come and eat ", hearing jiho cold voice su brothers shivered and nodded hastly.
'Yes, madam.' Su brothers hurriedly sat down on their seats. Joon Su, who still had not fully grasped reality, got another shock.
'Did we marry the god of fortune? How come you even eat meat in this disaster when normal households can't afford meat in normal days?',Wiping their mouths, which were licking with saliva, they looked at Jiho with worshipping eyes.
Thanks to yesterday, Su brothers were not as reserved at eating as before and ate to their heart's content. Soon, Jiho started to collect dishes.
"Wife, we can do it. You already cooked," Joon Su stuttered, but when he saw a smirk on Jiho's face, he shuddered and took a step back.
"I mean, it's too boring if we don't even do house chores." He hesitantly looked at Jiho to observe her expression, who still had the same smile on her face, and after hearing her smile grew bigger.
"Okay, my dear husband." Jiho came forward with tiptoeing.
Seeing her coming close, Joon Su closed his eyes tightly. Even after a while, not feeling any movement, he opened his eyes and saw a smiling Jiho at him.
"Good night, husband. Oh, I am sorry, were you expecting something?" In an innocent voice, Jiho looked at him, whose face soon turned redder.
"You, I, nothing." Joon Su looked at the shameless woman in front of him playing a victim.
"Oh, is that so? Then, good night." When Jiho saw Joon Su's face that was already on the verge of tears, smiling Jiho patted on his shoulder and walked toward her room while humming.
"I think it's enough for today."
Su brothers, who looked at her leaving back, stood dumbfounded in their position until they couldn't see Jiho's back.
"How can a scholar be like this?" But there was still someone who had a different thought.
"Hmm, looks like I have to work harder. Only then can I, hehehe." Looking at Ji Hoon, who was laughing like crazy, Su brothers took some steps back.
Jiho entered the room while moving inside. The only thing accompanying her was her own footsteps.
Small candles inside the room kept battling with the darkness within before a soft yet chilling voice reached Jiho's ears. "Did you really think..." Following the direction of the voice, Jiho turned to witness a silhouette before the complete sentence filled with cruel mockery reached her ears. "Something will change this time?"
"Heh, how pity of you, Jiho."
"What are you doing here?" Jiho's black eyes, as dark as the room's background, slightly turned crimson due to boiling rage met with the voice's owner.
"Aww, how cruel of you, Jiho, sniff...I am hurt, pfftt." As the figure lowered her head, the crying face looked up with a smirk at Jiho and walked towards her.
"..." Jiho stood in her place without saying anything, but her black eyes were still following the figure who was looking at her with a smirk.
"What? Can you not even recognize yourself, Jiho? Oh, I am sorry, Li Jiho, the great scholar." As the figure stood face to face in front of Jiho, soon Jiho's dark eyes reflected a face of a woman with the same face as her.
"Pfftt, come on, Jiho. Do you think just because your name is changed, you become a new person? Hahaha." The figure started to float around Jiho while laughing at her. As she floated at Jiho's back, she put her hand on her shoulders.
"Look like you forget, but the one married to your dear husbands is not you, Miss Jiho, but it's scholar Li Jiho." As the figure started to cling into Jiho, suddenly her body became transparent, but her eyes were still full of mocking. Jiho still stood in her place without saying anything. Even when the whole room became silent again, only her breath was heard in the background. Soon, the lamp went off. Jiho slowly sat on the bed and laid down, but instead of sleeping, she stared at the ceiling.
After a bustling night, the whole village slept soundly except Jiho.
"Cock-a-doodle-doo!" The rooster's crow echoed through the morning air.
"Wahh," Jiho stretched her arm while yawning. Due to last night, Jiho was not able to sleep at all. Intrigued, Jiho opened the door.
"Ugh, my head feels like splitting." As Jiho was rubbing her head and slowly approached the kitchen, she stopped her track. A mysterious clatter resonated from the courtyard. When she peered inside, to her surprise, she discovered an unexpected presence of her newly wedded husbands.
Clatter.
The aroma of sizzling spices wafted through the air. Joon Su, with a focused expression, skillfully diced vegetables on a worn wooden table, a bubbling pot on the stove his culinary canvas.
Meanwhile, Ji Hoon crouched near the fireplace, coaxing flames to life. The crackling fire soon danced merrily, casting warm hues across the room and lending an inviting glow to the cozy kitchen.
While in the courtyard, Min Seo diligently swept fallen leaves, creating a tapestry of golden foliage. His movements synchronized with the gentle rustle of the breeze, adding a serene backdrop to the bustling activity within.
Nearby, Kung Ho knelt by the stone well, the rhythmic splashing of water as he washed clothes under the shade of an ancient willow tree. The melodious sounds of nature intertwined with the hum of daily chores, creating a harmonious and comforting essence of home. Jiho, who saw this scene, stood frozen in her spot.
Hearing footsteps, Min Seo looked up and saw Jiho, whose hair is still wet, standing frozen in her place and looking at them nonstop. As water slowly dripped from her hair to her fair face, which revealed a pair of dark eyes that looked like seeing through you while her red lips...
'Her red lips...', his face turned red as he thought about her lips. Soon, last night's memories came to him. Jiho, who was being stared at by her new husband, feels kind of embarrassed.
"Umm, hi..."
"Uhh....Good morning, wife." Min seo looked at jiho and rubbed his ears which has long turned red When Su brothers heard it, they also came out.
