Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Xiao Ning’er

A few moments before leaving, Chan Wei glanced at Xiao Ning'er. She had a slender figure, wore a short yellow skirt, and a pair of high-heeled boots. Her black hair draped over her shoulders. She had bright, clear eyes, arched eyebrows, and long eyelashes that trembled slightly.

Her flawless white skin revealed touches of pink, and her delicate lips resembled rose petals. In addition to her charming aura, she possessed an indescribable, wild beauty. The cold expression on her face added another layer of allure.

Chan Wei's thoughts grew heavy as he left the room, remembering that Xiao Ning'er was the firstborn of the Winged Dragon family, one of the seven noble families. Her soul force talent was second only to Ye Ziyun.

Before Glory City was destroyed, she had already become a Silver-ranked Demon Spiritualist. Together with Ye Ziyun, they were considered the twin stars of the younger generation. However, to gain favor with one of the three major families, the Winged Dragon family forced Xiao Ning'er into an arranged marriage with the Sacred Family.

She was meant to marry Shen Yue's elder brother. But she refused, leaving her family and heading to the Black Devil Forest in the St. Ancestral Mountains, never to return. She was a woman of unyielding resolve.

"Even though Nie Li will help her like in the novel, it will still cause tension with Ziyun. Besides, I'm captivated by her description, so I'll be the one to help her, even if I need Nie Li's assistance! From what I've understood so far, I can manipulate Yin energy quite easily, but I'll still need to learn Nie Li's massage technique just in case," Chan Wei thought.

Upon arriving at the library, Chan Wei saw Nie Li's group following him. They all sat together before Chan Wei spoke.

"I'd like to thank you, Nie Li, for standing up for us. I'm Chan Wei, and my family served the Huyan family until their demise. They contributed enough that the Huyan family allowed me to attend the institute. But faced with the teacher's behavior, I couldn't keep my cool. Nie Li, are you sure you can win your bet in two months?"

"Two months? That's still plenty of time," Nie Li said with a confident smirk.

"Watch me reach 1-star Bronze in two months!"

"Nie Li, do you like Ye Ziyun?" Lu Piao asked, eyeing him curiously.

"Yes!" Nie Li replied honestly.

Lu Piao stared at Nie Li for a moment before sighing.

"Ye Ziyun is truly a beauty. And since you're my brother, I won't compete with you. But as a brother, I must warn you—Ye Ziyun's identity is too noble. She's not someone we can match. Even though her family is one of the twelve aristocratic families, her status compared to ours is simply astronomical."

"You two, can you be more realistic? Ye Ziyun is a super genius with a cyan soul realm! She'll soon become a 1-star Bronze Demon Spiritualist. I estimate that within two months, she'll be able to join the official Demon Spiritualist class. Once she's in, her cultivation will skyrocket. Whether she remembers you or not will still be a question. What I despise most is nobles like you who constantly think about chasing girls while you don't even know how to work hard and train!" Du Ze said coldly before turning to Chan Wei with a smile.

"I think Brother Chan Wei has a better chance than either of you."

"What do you mean by noble children constantly thinking about chasing girls? That's slander! I've always worked hard, okay? At most, I've only spent half a day thinking about girls!" Lu Piao shrugged.

"Goodness! What kind of people have I gotten involved with?" Du Ze muttered, rolling his eyes.

Nie Li turned to Chan Wei, narrowing his eyes. "Brother Chan Wei, you're not interested in Ye Ziyun, are you?"

"Don't worry, Brother Nie Li. I have no designs on your woman. I'm in love with someone else who means everything to me, and I hope to win her heart through my efforts. But let's change the subject," Chan Wei replied.

Du Ze thought for a moment before saying, "Fine. Whatever you do, we'll always support you!"

"Du Ze, Lu Piao, and you, Chan Wei—I'll help you all become the strongest Demon Spiritualists!" Nie Li said seriously. In his previous life, Du Ze and Lu Piao had shared life and death with him. They had fought by his side and saved his life multiple times. Now that he was back, he would naturally help them achieve their dreams.

As for Chan Wei, Nie Li decided to observe him for now while offering his support.

"Forget it. I only have a red soul realm. With my family's elixirs, becoming a Fighter won't be a problem. But becoming a Demon Spiritualist is just too difficult!" Lu Piao said, starting to back down.

"What's the point of becoming a Fighter? The higher you go, the harder it is to train, and a Fighter can't compare to a Demon Spiritualist. On the battlefield, even a Legend-ranked Fighter isn't worth as much as a Black Gold-ranked Demon Spiritualist. You have to understand that Demon Spiritualists are powerful forces in combat!" Du Ze argued.

He was filled with hope about becoming a Demon Spiritualist. If he wanted to do something, he would give it his all. That was his principle.

"No need to become a Legend-ranked Fighter. If I could become a Gold-ranked Fighter, I'd be satisfied," Lu Piao said bluntly, completely unbothered. Du Ze was speechless.

Nothing can be said to a person without ambition.

"You have a red soul realm, so what? I also have a red soul realm," Nie Li said, looking at Lu Piao.

Lu Piao and Du Ze were puzzled. Nie Li had a red soul realm, yet he had the confidence to say he'd reach 1-star Bronze rank in two months. Could he have some special methods?

"Nie Li, what methods do you have to refine soul force and raise your Demon Spiritualist level?" Du Ze asked curiously. From what he knew, there were no shortcuts to training soul force.

"Just listen to me. As long as you don't back down, you can become a powerful Demon Spiritualist."

"Back down? Never!" Du Ze said firmly. He wanted to become stronger to change his family's fate; on this matter, he would never retreat.

If it was possible to become a Demon Spiritualist, Lu Piao was naturally thrilled. If he could become a Demon Spiritualist, his father wouldn't beat him for being lazy. Lu Piao was the type of person who would never miss an opportunity to slack off if it presented itself.

"Will it be very troublesome?" Lu Piao muttered.

Du Ze shot him a look. This guy was hopeless. He wanted to become a Demon Spiritualist without any difficulty. How could becoming a Demon Spiritualist not be troublesome? If it meant becoming a Demon Spiritualist, Du Ze would do anything—no matter how hard it was!

Hearing Lu Piao, Chan Wei and Nie Li couldn't help but laugh a little, while Du Ze stared at him in disbelief.

"It's not troublesome," Nie Li replied, shaking his head. His expression remained calm as he continued, "We just need a lot of money."

"If it can be solved with money, that's too easy," Lu Piao said, letting out a breath of relief. "How much do you need? I have plenty. I've saved up two thousand demon spirit coins. If I can become a Demon Spiritualist, I'm willing to spend it all."

"I don't think that's enough, but I also have a thousand demon spirit coins. Maybe we can start with that." If three thousand demon spirit coins could earn the title of Demon Spiritualist, that would be incredible.

Nie Li looked at Lu Piao. It was bold of Lu Piao to think that two thousand demon spirit coins could be considered "a lot."

With a helpless sigh, Nie Li said, "What can you do with two thousand demon spirit coins? Of course, it's not enough. You'll need at least millions of demon spirit coins, possibly even tens of millions!"

"Tens of millions of demon spirit coins?" Du Ze and Lu Piao took a deep breath. A million demon spirit coins was equivalent to the annual income of an aristocratic family! Where could they possibly get that much money?

"Chan Wei, you still have the crystal Shen Xiu gave you. Let me take a look at it."
