Chapter 16: 16) Test Your Valor - Finland Pt. 1
"I always forget how debilitating it is flying in airplanes..maybe if I could have my own wings, I'd be more comfortable instead of this giant hunk of metal that LITERALLY doesn't make sense. Like how does a giant 200 ton piece of metal actually FLY in the air? AND MOVE AS FAST AS IT DOES? See this is why kayaking is so much better! It makes perfect sense how a small and hollow boat can stay afloat and a paddle pushes you foward. If it were up to me, planes wouldn't even exist. I DON'T CARE ABOUT DIPLOMACY. DIPLOMATS NEED TO RIDE BOATS OR SOMET—"
"Please be quiet."
I was ranting about the sheer obscurity of the creation of planes while Nanami and I began walking off into our new location. Obviously he wasn't having it (but genuienly how do planes fly?) so we just continued to walk out the building.
"I have a feeling you don't like me all that much."
"What?"
"I have a feeling, you don't like me, that much."
"What makes you say that?"
"You're super cold…and you don't talk much…and you're not supportive even though I'm just a student..and—"
Nanami stopped walking and turned towards me, which halted my movement along with him.
"Satoru told me about your potential and how worrying about you should be the last of my concerns. My expectations are high and so far, you aren't meeting them. Right now, we are business partners on an important job so first let's take care of said business."
His words left me absolutely pokerfaced and I kinda just had to take it at face value. With a stern guy like him, I doubt I could ever form a relationship.
But whatever…
Anyways, we both hopped in a black sedan that drove us to what I'm assuming was one of the few Jujutsu Sorcery sites in Europe. It wasn't too large of a building, but apparently it was masked as a government-funded religious institution, which is good enough to hide it I guess. As we were escorted through the courtyard and into the building, a woman with all black clothing, along with a black veil, obscuring most her face except her lips. She bowed and started leading us into the main room. More black clothed women were standing around reading what I suppose were scriptures, praying, and talking amongst each other.
Spooky…
"Den här vägen." She said.
I don't think neither me nor Nanami actually said but I'm assuming she said something along the lines of, "come here" or something in…Swedish?
"Oh, dearest apologies. I thought we had a speaker of your native tongue other than me to lead you, well, to me."
Another woman came shuffling around a corner to us. Her appearance was a bit unique compared to the other women in the building. She had no veil covering her face and she was rather…yolked I must say. Her muscles were nearly ripping her black dress.
"So you two must be the Japanese sorcerers sent to exorcise the Valkyries. I'm Emilia. Pleased to meet you." She put out her visibly brute hand, inviting a handshake.
"The pleasure is all mine. This is my subordinate, Furōkawa, a first year student at the Technical College." Nanami said as he firmly gripped and shook her hand.
She let go and pointed towards her hand towards me.
"Thank you for having us, you can call me Furō though."
As I grabbed her hand, the moment I made contact I was able to "feel" and imagine a strong pressure from the amount of cursed energy she possessed. It was as if I was perceiving the wiring of her "soul". Her CE was no where near Gojo, but I could tell she was incredibly powerful. I'd estimate she's about a high-end grade 1 sorcerer.
…Didn't know such a powerful shaman could exist outside of Japan.
"Oh, I nearly forgot! I regret to inform you both, but one of the Valkyries here in Finland had to be relocated due to…problematic inconvenience. As soon as you're ready, we can head off to the cathedral where it is being kept in. It will probably awaken again soon..not to rush or anything."
Why did she have to add that last part… and I'm assuming this "inconvenience" happens to be it waking up from its century long nap.
"So, how would you estimate the power of the Valkyrie? I was told not to underestimate it and that it's power is slowly rising." I asked her.
"Well, to be honest I haven't actually fought one before and it's hard to gauge their real strength when they are dormant. If I had to assume, I don't think their power would be linear to each other. The nearest one may be weaker than the others since it was the first to wake up."
I scratched my chin a bit and came to the realization that the longer we wait, the more dangerous and powerful the valkyries will become. I'm sure Nanami deduced this as well.
"We can get started immediately. Let's go." Nanami turned around and began walking to the front door.
"He's…very business oriented." She looked at him a little concerned.
"Yeah, no kidding." I agreed.
We both followed Nanami outside and a black vehicle rolled up in front of the base. All of us walked up to the car and one of the windows rolled down, revealing another woman with a black veil over her face.
"Ta dem till katedralen. Jag kör nästa gång." Emilia said to the driver.
The driver nodded her head yes and the car doors opened by themselves.
"Safe travels and good luck on your fight. I'll see you two soon."
"Thank you! We'll be back with a body under our belt!"
She smiled warmly at us as we hopped in the vehicle, and it slowly skirted off onto the road. It was time to finally meet and destroy my fated adversary.

(EMILIA POV:)
I felt like I was forgetting something about those Valkyries…
Hm…
Hmmmmm....
OH SHIT, I REMEMBER!!!
I forgot to mention the binding vow that activates if they agree to fight the valkyrie…
Well they will figure it out when they get there.
