The Abyss Between Us: A Tale Of Cursed Love

A week passed by since he went to earth after that day, his usual routine continued running around the heaven, talking to his friends cultivating, eating and sleeping, he had given up on painting and it made the most sense anyways there was nothing worth painting, the land of mortals was more dull and lifeless then the heaven, so there was absolutely nothing that inspired him to draw something new.

But his mother also kept asking him about going to earth, just like now, he was annoyed by it everyday but could not say anything so he just listened and listened.

"What's wrong with you, su jun, why are you so quiet?", His mother asked worried.

"Mother it's nothing, I am probably going just tired recently, I want to rest.", su jun answered in enthusiastically while lying down on his bed.

"Hmm, but mother had some work for you", his mother said.

"What is it mother, I will do it right away", Su Jun asked.

"I wanted you to visit the earth again".

"Mother, if father knows about my visit, he would kill me though, i am scared of his punishment so I do not want to take the risk again and there is not even anything to see there, everything is just same", su Jun pointed out sluggishly.

"No, i have to disagree on this one, the land of mortals is really beautiful and it cannot be just explored in half a day, you have to travel to places by foot and observe each and everything I am sure that you will definitely find something incredible to draw there, the land is full of charms and wonders that do not happen in heaven, and speaking of your father, he is going to the southern region to take care of something and it will atleast take 15 days, in those days you can go down with Yoon and explore the lands and forests down there", his mother said with a gentle voice, making Su Jun think about it deeply.

"But what if father comes to know, we both will be in trouble then", Su Jun asked again, afraid of his father's temper.

"I will get to know about your father's return earlier that day so I will send a signal to you, and you just need to be back on time, just that, don't worry no one will know", his mother reassured and Su Jun just nodded his head in agreement.

After a week or so, Su Jun's father finally went to his work somewhere in the southern region, and Yoon and su Jun decided to go to the west, even though the west region was considered to be dangerous because majority of the dark cultivators resided there but it was a beautiful place and people often went there, so they decided on it too, anyways they were going to seal their powers before going there and the dark cultivators never harmed any normal people so the west was the best choice.

On the first day, when they got to the land of mortals also called as Earth, the two friends sealed their spritual power and became ordinary mortals so that they can travel without any problem. They went to markets and gardens, made for relaxing and enjoying, Su Jun came to learn a few things like fighting over a piece of bread, the next few days were like this, they visited Palaces, orchards, Vegetable fields,fairs, stage operas by humans in different costumes, brothels, inns, markets, forests, caves, temples and everywhere a human went, and as they travelled and explored time passed by quickly and in the blink of the eye, it was already their last day on earth.

They were sitting in a forest looking at the birds that were singing happily in the afternoon sun, the sun was a bit too hot today, making the two boys without spritual power, lose their energy to move anymore, so they found a shady place and sat there and started looking around.

"What do you think of earth now", Yoon asked as he looked at the beautiful boy's milky skin and flushed cheeks, which had sweat droplets all over it, making him look cute and hot at the same time.

"Hmm, it's not that bad, actually a bit interesting too, there are things that are quiet beautiful too, but nothing that is extra ordinary that can make me lose my mind", Su Jun answered looking at the slightly tanned boy besides him.

"So, did you get any inspiration on what you would paint once we go back today", Yoon asked gently.

"No, even though things are beautiful they don't really motivate me to paint anything,it feels like nothing is worth painting here, it just feels empty", Su Jun answered and then looked at the empty bottle .

"Go find some water, i am thirsty", he said and nudged the boy besides him while shaking the empty bottle.

"Do it yourself, i am tired, I would not move even an inch from here", Yoon declared as he pushed the bottle back to su Jun

"Don't you think you are talking too much, Yoon, how can you tell this little prince to get water", Su Jun said and pushed the bottle back to Yoon.

"No matter what you say, i am not going to go, see there is a stream over there, just use your little feet and get water, don't be so over dramatic", Yoon said and pushed the bottle back to Su Jun, smiling a bit.

"Fine, i will get it myself but once we return, i will show you real hell in the heaven, Humph!", Su Jun said and got up from under the tree and patted his butt to dust off his robe before walking to the stream to fill the water in the bottle.

He sat by the side of the stream and splashed the water around with his hand and then put the bottle in the stream to fill it, Su Jun was watching the water go inside the bottle, and amazed by the bubbles, he started to seriously think that maybe he should paint it once he gets back but after staring for a few more moments, he gave up on the idea.

*It's boring*, he thought and was about to get up, when a small and the feeling of something pulling his clothes came from his side, he looked at his side and found a little squirrel looking up at him.

"I heard you talking earlier", the squirrel said, eyeing the bag of nuts tied to Su Jun's waist.

"What do you mean?", Su Jun asked, unaware of the little creatures thoughts.

"You want to see something that can make you lose your mind, I know something like that or maybe someone like that, that can make you want to draw itself as soon as you see it", The little squirrel explained making rounds of him happily.

"Really?, then take me to it now", Su Jun said curiously.

"I can take you there but I need something in return" the squirrel answered.

"What do you need, immortality, treasures, palace, wealth, health, what I would give it to you", Su Jun asked.

"You can give that many things?, I just wanted some nuts", the little squirrel answered reluctantly.

"Just this, here you go, I would have given it to you if you asked for it directly", Su Jun said and picked the bag of nuts and gave it to the squirrel who held it in his mouth and dragged it along with itself as he started leading Su Jun to the place it had promised.

Su Jun walked into the forest for a while, trying to keep track of the little creature, the wilderness becoming more and more dense, the body was becoming more and more tired too and he had to go back to Yoon as well, so he tried to run and after a while he lost track of the squirrel.

"Wicked creature", Su Jun cursed realising that he was just made a fool by the squirrel, after all there was nothing here but just bushes and thrones, which had accidentally cut his clothes and made him bleed a little, he wanted to go back but the wilderness was so dense that he didn't know where he had come from just now.

"I am a fool, these earthlings are cunning and dishonest, I will ask the lord God to vanish you from the earth when I get back", he yelled in frustration, making the birds in nearby trees fly away and make crooked sounds in fear.

After a while of resting in the same place and hoping for Yoon to find him, Su Jun finally got up and started to walk and tried to figure out where he had come from, but the more he walked the more he seemed to get far and farer from Yoon and the tree where they were sitting earlier.

"Damn it Yoon, only if you had brought the water yourself I would not have gotten into this mess", Su Jun complained in his heart and kept walking when he heard the faint sound of water.

"Is it pond from earlier?", Su Jun asked but no one answered, making him curse out in his heart, he walked to the pond slowly and found out that it was not the same one, but the water here was clearer so he walked to it and wanted to drink some water, when he felt a faint sense of someone being there, he immediately looked up and saw a man standing on the other side of the pond, looking at him.

"This pond is for bathing", the man said and turned around to leave but Su Jun did not say anything, it's not like he didn't want to say something but how could he.

Lost in the thought of who knows what Su Jun did not hear the sound of rushed steps towards him, neither did he hear the panicked voice of his childhood friend calling him to get up.

"Su Jun, get up, we recieved a signal, we need to hurry back", Yoon said as he unlocked his spritual power and drew an array in the air quickly but Su Jun didn't react, he just sat there with the bottle in his hand, it felt like the man had taken his soul with himself and disappeared in thin air.

"Su Jun, let's go back, what's wrong with you", Yoon yelled and dragged Su Jun by the collar to disappear from the land of mortals without a trace of ever being there.

"What's wrong with you?" Yoon asked again as he dragged him into his room to change clothes before appearing in front of his Scary father.

"I found my God", Su Jun answered.
