The Adventurer of Danmachi

As soon as we entered the pub, I heard a loud voice yelling at the girl holding me. She apologized while the woman that yelled came into view. It was non other than Mama Mia. A level 6 retired Adventurer from the Freya Familia. She listened to Syr explaining the situation before looking at me intently.

She could tell something was off about me but couldn't figure it out. I shrugged before jumping on top of Syr's head yawning and curled into a ball to rest. Syr couldn't help but giggle at my cuteness apparently. Mia tried to grabbed me but I reacted first and swatted her hand away.

I lightly growled at her not in anger but I was comfy and didn't want to be bothered at the moment. Syr picked me up slowly and brought me upstairs to her room after asking permission from Mia and put me on her bed and put wrapped me into a blanket. I warned cutely causing her to squeal kawaii.

She left to get backed to work. I dozed off quickly and went to sleep. A few hours later, I awoke to the smell of food coming towards me. Syr opened the door and saw me stretching. I hopped down the bed and sat in front of her. Waiting for her to put the food down. She did soon after and what I was given was a few vegetables as well as some bread. I ate it quite quickly cause I was hungry. She picked up the plate once I was finished and started petting me behind the ears. I begin to rapidly kick my leg, showing my enjoyment. She brought me downstairs and put me down near the corner and told me to behave.

I just laid down since I didn't have any plans today. A couple more hours later, it was closing time and everyone headed to bed. Mia stayed up and walked up to me. She looked at me sternly before asking who I was.

If I was shocked which i wasn't. I didn't show it at all. I merely stretched before transforming back into my demon form. My ears twitched and tail swished as I yawned out and began rolling my shoulders. Mia looked at me warily as well as the eavesdropping girls. Syr was the most shocked but was listening intently.

They blushed as they got a good look at me except Mia. She just raised an eyebrow and Repeated her question earlier. They never saw a beast person transform before.

I decided to humor her and responded. "I'm no one worth mentioning or bothering to be remembered. Though it's a first time someone noticed I wasn't a normal dog."

Mia scoffed and said "It wasn't hard to figure out. You reek of blood and showed an intelligence beyond a normal dog. Also, no normal animal could dodged let alone swiped my hand away casually."

"Hmm, that's true. I prefer to be in my dog form since it's more comfortable to me. We'll anyways, I have no bad intentions towards you or your girls. Truthfully, I was wandering around the area since I'm new here and heard a woman shout in pain and decided to investigate. Everything else you heard from Syr."

Mia looked at me and said "what are you exactly and which Familia do you belong to".

I chuckled a little but said "I won't answer your first question because I don't trust you nor the guild. So I didn't put my race down. As for the second, I don't belong to any Familia and probably won't join one since I don't see the need for it. If I do join one, it'll be because of the dungeon and nothing else. Does that satisfy you enough."

Mia shocked her head no but knew she wouldn't get anymore outta him. "What are your intentions with Syr."

I looked at her seriously and said "Nothing. I just was acting like a normal dog would. Like I said I prefer my dog form then this form." Like that I transformed back into my dog form and scratched behind my ear with my leg. "Oh before I forget, my name is Zephyr Moonshadow. I can understand your weariness but rest assured, I'm no threat here. I have no intentions of bringing trouble to your doorstep. Especially since we might never meet again."

Mia nodded before asking about the last thing.

"I'm currently hunting down two specific enemies to kill and will most likely end with my death. So I refused to make bonds or get near people. I'm already a dead man walking so no need to drag innocent people in my affairs."

Mia nodded and asked if I can reveal who I'm hunting.

I thought it through and decided to humor her. "I'm currently hunting down a group of people called Evilus. I plan to eliminate the group done to it's roots. The second one is to kill the one eyed black dragon. So you see, it's basically a bloody suicide path I'm on. I have no regrets about following this path. I've already killed hundreds of people belonging to Evilus over the past 12 years. My past is bound to catch up to me and karma will sink her teeth into me. So for everyone's sake and my own. After tonight, you will most likely never see me again but who knows. Thanks for the food from earlier."

I put down 30,000 Valis and turned around. "One last thing, Tell Syr that I appreciate her actions and care but to forget about me. It's best for everyone that I'm forgotten about." With that I disappeared into shadows before them and was gone like the night.

Mia sighed but couldn't help but smile a little. "You heard him Syr. Forget about him. There's nothing but trouble with him. As for the rest of you get to bed. We have a busy day tomorrow with the Loki Familia coming down.

They all nodded and went to their beds and tried to go to sleep. Knowing that after everything they heard, it will be a hard night to get to sleep.
