Chapter 23: CHAPTER 23: The Sun's Traitor
(During Leo's fight with the brother hood
elves)
"Hand over the princess and I promise to let you guys leave the castle alive" Wulfe said with a yawn that showed how much he considered them to be a threat.
"Why would you do this? the female blonde asked wondering why a superintendent; one who is supposed to be at the forefront in the protection and upholding of magical rules, involve himself with the activities of terrorists.
Wulfe hearing the question and seeing the spells that the mages had prepared sighed "I guess this means you all have decided to reject my generous offer".
"Enough chitchat" Hamilton snarled "You have already made your choice and we have made ours", all of the mages slowly moved in a circle until Hamilton broke the formation charging forward with a silver wand in hand.
"PYRIA" Hamilton shouted pointing the wand at Wulfe.
"So simple" Wulfe remarked; leaping in the air and dodging a bright beam of fire that incinerated everything in his path.
Huge flames rose up from the many furniture in the halls; illuminating it orange while the smoke tainted the air around them. "At least we can finally see to some extent" the female blonde said in relief before she released a spell from her beautiful ivory wand.
The smoke in the surroundings surged around in the air forming some sort of phantom shape that descended down to meet the snow haired Wulfe. In an instant Wulfe was covered by the phantom whose main purpose was to prevent the intended target from breathing by removing the target's surrounding air.
"Hit him with everything you got" the blonde hollered out, her wands still raised as all the mages joined in, mouths and arms moving nonstop; each of them blasting spells of every element into the dark smoke that covered Wulfe.
For a brief moment the whole hall was lit up with various colors until a loud voice from the dark smoke shouted.
"ENOUGH!
All twelve of the mages fighting Wulfe were thrown back by a huge gust of wind into the burnt furniture, many of them screaming as they crashed into the burning chairs and tables.
"I've had enough of all this shenanigans" Wulfe spat cracking his neck left and right "I WILL! Get the princess even if I have to walk over your corpses first".
"CHAOSIIA!!!!!!!
Streams of black arrows shot forward from his obsidian wand, piercing everything in their path and we're followed by a huge wave of darkness that flowed outward from Wulfe and in the process snuffed out the flames, covering the hall once again in a vast layer of darkness...
"Miranda are you okay? Hamilton coughed blood while he muttered the spell necessary for him to see in the dark.
A ghostly silence replied him while other dying groans echoing in the hall informed him along with their corpses that many mages had just met their end at the hands of Wulfe.
"The PRINCESS! Hamilton instantly remembered turning around while he searched for her location or the traitorous man that sought her demise.
Getting up Hamilton placed his right hand onto his bleeding abdomen; cursing at the lack of strength dealt to him by those chaos arrows.
"I see you somehow managed to survive that, meaning I might have underestimated your strength elf" a voice said in the darkness. "Why not join us? The voice once again asked.
"I will rather die than join a group that seeks to join forces with an ancient malevolent dragon" Hamilton replied turning around while he searched for signs of the princess. "Malevolent? A beast that seeks to unite all the realms is malevolent? Wulfe's voice asked laughing as it travelled through the hall.
"Then how does that help the brotherhood elves in their fight to be the only race on the forever realm? Hamilton asked; intending to keep up the discussion until help could arrive.
"OH please, the brotherhood is just a means to an end" Wulfe replied "But if you decide to join us, you can be part of the few elites under Draghyr the great".
"So what's it going to be? Wulfe asked, slowly revealing himself from the darkness. Hamilton after one last look around sighed as it had now dawned on him that maybe the brotherhood had indeed succeeded in getting rid of the elven princess.
"What's the point of even living if I couldn't perform the task assigned to me as a highly esteemed member of the god rank" Hamilton thought shaking his head "You know what, just kill me and get it over with" he added with his head hanging low in obvious dejection.
"Gladly, though it is such a shame that it has to end this way, after all you are one of the few people that I really liked in that Sh*t- hole order" Wulfe said with a smile while his wand pointed directly at the dejected elf. *Creak*
"What the hell are you doing here? Wulfe asked jumping back just in time to evade some earthen jaws that had risen beneath his feet.
"Pleasure meeting you too" Patricia smirked walking forward to where Hamilton stood. "Take the princess and get out of here" Patricia murmured to the elf's hearing, Hamilton looked at her confused but quickly moved towards the side of the hall.
Followed by a wave of her wand, Patricia's body began to glow orange while two red feathered wings quickly sprouted from her back.
"Big mistake" Wulfe growled, stretching out his own wand.
*CHAOSIIA*, *RAGE OF THE PHEONIX*
The dark arrows once again surged forward but quickly disappeared when they struck an illusory red phoenix made out of ethereal light. Followed by another wave of her wand the phoenix flew forward dispelling the darkness in its path before it crashed into Wulfe.
Wulfe quickly casted a darkness spell around himself protecting him from the harmful light spell and after tumbling into some pile of ashes, he got up and stretched out his wand once more.
Hamilton meanwhile was currently approaching the downed princess whose location had been revealed to him by Patricia's light spell.
The light spell had not only (for a moment) dispersed the darkness covering the hall but had also shattered the cloaking spell that Wulfe had used to hide Emelda's location. Oblivious to everything happening the Princess laid in the midst of bodies still unconscious while Hamilton after making sure that Wulfe was well occupied with Patricia, put his ear against her chest and gave a sigh of relief when to his obvious joy she remained unscathed.
Picking her up Hamilton's face still confused, wondered why Wulfe had left her alive for it was now obvious to him that many of the chaos arrows had missed her on purpose and it was now clear that the whole darkness spell was just a ruse to capture her.
"Meaning this whole elaborate attack was just a plot to capture a princess? Hamilton asked himself, but on hearing the loud noise of something crashing into the floor, remembered the task assigned to him and quickly placed the princess on his back before he placed a cloaking spell on the two on them while he slowly made his way towards the hall's doors.
