The Aura of a Broken Dragon

Chapter 21: Chapter 21

Ddraig could only laugh hysterically, "That was some good acting. Not only did she fall for it, but she also felt bad."

"I'm kind of surprised that she felt for that. Well, that just makes it easier for me to stay around town without her bothering me." Issei walked away from the front door to see his mother standing near the entrance of the living room.

"Issei, who was that woman?"

Issei should have known that nothing was going to go perfectly as he expected. "She was a woman that had bothered me many times in school."

"Is that so?" Miki wasn't entirely convinced.

"Yes, I simply sent her off." Issei casually said while walking away.

Miki decided she shouldn't question her son. Maybe his first breakup was still affecting him. However, she felt as if she had seen that woman somewhere.

The meeting between Rias and Issei didn't go as well as Rias had thought. She had brought back a trauma to the poor man, not only did she do that, but she had also continued pressuring him in telling why he was dumped by the fallen angel. Throughout the entire day, Rias was kind of feeling down because of her actions. However, that quickly changed.

Kokabiel could be seen standing right in front of the two devil women that ruled the territory. Sitting down on his throne, he could only lean in on his arm in disappointment. This was all that he was given to kill. Two peasants with their little slaves.

Rias was on the opposite spectrum. She was terrified. There was no way that she could handle Kokabiel alone. Her entire peerage was going to be brutally killed.

"I'll give you a couple of minutes to call your brother... Serafall, she's interesting, but nothing remarkable. Sirzechs... He's a monster. I want to fight him." Kokabiel said while flying away. "If you don't... Well, say goodbye to this city."

Rias was left thinking hard about what she was going to do. Sirzechs was definitely going to be called here. Rias needed to make sure that her brother could arrive. Turning to her peerage, "Listen, everyone, I need you all to work with me. We will need to fight against Kokabiel. If we don't, not only will we die, but the people in this land will die."

"Rias, there is no way that we will be able to handle a Cadre class being." Sona added in.

"We don't have a choice. We have to make sure that we prevent a Great War from happening, and make sure that no body in this land dies. Not only is our life in danger but the people around us as well." Rias began walking forward.

"We will stand beside you." Akeno declared while walking towards Rias.

"Where you go, we follow," Koneko said while Kiba simply nodded.

They didn't know what they were heading into... Neither did Rias or Sona. They have never seen or battled against a Cadre level being.

While Kokabiel was getting ready to fight against the peasants of the three factions, Issei had already sensed the power signatures.

"No matter where I go. Power follows." Issei stood on a large hill outside of town. Watching the events with his enhanced eyesight, he could see everything that was happening. "Rias is going to be ripped apart." That was all that he could say.

"You don't think that they could handle Kokabiel at all?" Ddraig questioned.

"Have some faith in them..."

"I don't because I know I'll have to end this." Issei yawned afterward, stretching his body and going back to watching the show. He wanted to make sure that no one would be able to see him when he launches his attack.

After a little while, the fight went as usual, Rias and her entire peerage plus the holy women, were getting dominated. Getting laughed at by the Cadre, but they still tried to stay strong.

Kokabiel was feeling a sense of euphoria as everything he had planned was coming together so smoothly. His meticulously crafted plan had brought Rias Gremory and her peerage right to him, and they were currently engaged in a ferocious battle against his henchmen and the monstrous Cerberus that he had summoned. But that wasn't all. To Kokabiel's delight, he had managed to draw the attention of not just one, but two holy women who were now fighting alongside Rias and her group. Their presence only added to the chaos and danger of the situation, as their divine abilities were a force to be reckoned with.

Kokabiel sat comfortably on his floating throne, observing the battle with a gleeful smirk on his face. His henchmen were doing a good job of keeping Rias and her group occupied, allowing him to wait for the arrival of Sirzechs and Serafall. 'The thought of the Great War happening again! It excites me to no end.' As he watched the fierce struggle below him, Kokabiel couldn't help but revel in the sheer chaos and violence that surrounded him. The clashing of swords, the howling of the Cerberus, and the screams of the combatants all blended together into a cacophony of sound that filled the air.

While Kokabiel was sitting in control, Rias was aghast at the sight before her. She couldn't believe that Kokabiel had started a war simply for his own amusement. Her eyes blazed with fury as she surveyed the chaos around her.

"What is the meaning of this, Kokabiel?" she spat out, her voice laced with anger. "Starting a war just for the sake of enjoyment? This is beyond ridiculous. How far have you fallen?" As she spoke, Rias deftly evaded a light spear that had been hurled in her direction. With lightning-fast reflexes, she shot off a sphere of destruction towards one of the Fallen Angels that had been closing in on her, erasing their very existence in a blinding flash of light.

Kokabiel simply chuckled seeing the reaction that Rias gave him. "I was never satisfied with the results of the Great War. All three sides decided to follow through with retreating. What a bunch of cowards. I wanted to kill people! I wanted to see who would come out on top." Kokabiel suddenly formed a light spear and shot it straight towards one of the peerage members.

Koneko gritted her teeth and summoned all her strength to keep up with the Cerberus, but she soon felt a searing pain shoot through her body. Looking down, she saw a glint of light as a sharp light spear pierced through her flesh, leaving a gaping hole in her side. She widened her mouth as blood spewed out of it, looking around trying to see who did this. Looking up at the one being that she feared currently, she couldn't help but curse Kokabiel. Her vision swam with pain as she stumbled and fell onto the ground, blood gushing out of the wound. She struggled to get back on her feet, but her body refused to cooperate as she felt herself slipping away.

"Excellent, just a few more and that's all she wrote."

But before Koneko could regain her footing, the Cerberus lunged at her with its massive jaws, clamping down on her body with a sickening crunch. Koneko screamed in agony as the dog shook her like a rag doll, flinging her body around like a toy. Blood splattered everywhere as the Cerberus continued its brutal assault, slamming Koneko's body onto the ground with bone-shattering force. She could feel her bones snapping like twigs under the weight of the beast, and tears streamed down her face as she struggled to breathe.

Koneko couldn't go down like this, with the last of her strength, she summoned a burst of energy that flowed through her arms and pushed back against the Cerberus, freeing herself from its jaws and tumbling away onto the ground, her body broken and battered.

"Wonderful! Yes, blood... Gore... Flesh, it all makes me so happy. I miss this feeling." Kokabiel simply chuckled and smirked at what was happening. Showing not a single trace of remorse of the brutality that was happening.

On the other side of the spectrum, Rias' heart pounded in her chest as she watched Koneko being brutally attacked by the Cerberus. With each passing moment, her anxiety grew more intense as she struggled to keep her emotions in check.

"Koneko!" she cried out, reaching out to grab her fallen comrade. The sight of Koneko's broken and battered body filled her with a sense of overwhelming sadness and anger. How could Kokabiel be so cruel as to inflict such pain on innocent people?

"Rias?" Koneko muttered out, barely able to register that Rias was in front of her.

As Rias held Koneko close to her chest, Rias glared intently at Kokabiel, her eyes burning with an intense fury. She knew that she was nowhere near the level of power that this Cadre had. What was she going to do? However, that was when she heard another scream...

Kiba's hand was dripping with blood, the pain shooting up his arm as he tried to keep his grip on his sword. Kokabiel's sadistic glee was palpable as he effortlessly dodged their attacks, mocking them with each dodge. The light spears he summoned with ease sliced through the air, piercing through flesh and bone. Kiba was barely holding on, his knuckles white from the strain of his grip.

In the midst of the chaos, Kokabiel teleported right in front of Rias, snatching her up by the head with a grip so tight that she screamed in agony. Akeno's desperate attempt to stop him with a bolt of magical lightning only ended up hurting Rias more when Kokabiel threw her right into the attack. The sound of Rias' screams filled the air as Kokabiel threw her around like a ragdoll, slamming her against the ground, stomping on her head and ripping out her hair.

Akeno's punch did nothing as Kokabiel simply shrugged it off, retaliating with a swift elbow to her nose that broke it with a sickening crunch. Blood poured from her nostrils as she tried to retreat with her wings, but Kokabiel was too fast.

"No one leaves the slaughterhouse... Not alive." Upon hearing that, Akeno began panicking, but it was too late. He grabbed her by the wings, tearing through the flesh with his fingers, and flung her across the battlefield.

Akeno's vision blurred as the intense pain consumed her senses, making it difficult for her to focus. She felt as if her entire body was on fire, every nerve ending tingling with agony. Her screams echoed through the battlefield, an ear-piercing sound that spoke of the sheer brutality of the attack. Her wings, which she had relied on so heavily for mobility, now felt useless, as if they were dragging her down to the earth.

As Kokabiel slammed her head into the ground, Akeno's vision briefly went black, the impact causing her brain to rattle in her skull. When her vision cleared, she found herself face-first in the grass, gasping for air. The taste of earth filled her mouth, and she couldn't help but cough, feeling dirt and grass scratch the back of her throat. Her body still shook with pain, each breath she took feeling like shards of glass piercing her lungs. The ground beneath her felt unsteady, as if it was shifting and moving. She wasn't sure how much more of this she could take.

"Now, what was I doing again? Oh right!" Kokabiel was getting far too cocky, letting his guard all the way down. No one in the area would be able to hurt him, all his henchmen had died with the Cerberus, but everyone was down beside him. Valper was killed by him. Now, Rias Gremory would be his first victim. Approaching her slowly, Kokabiel quickly lifted her head to see the bruised-up face with blood covering her eyes.

"Alright, time to begin the pain." Kokabiel began lifting her above his head and brought her down to around his knee level. Grabbing her head and her legs, he began slamming her back into his knees and began applying pressure.

Before he could rip her in half, he felt something hit him. In a flash, a large ball of flames collided with his head, burning away the very being that he was. The same flames that could burn the very gods into ashes collided with him. Kokabiel went from being the ever so dominant being to being nothing but ashes on the ground.

What the others didn't know was that this entire battle was going to take down the entire town. This town didn't belong to the two devil women, but rather to the dragon that stayed hidden. Issei knew what was happening, he knew that this battle was going to kill his parents if it went south. He acted first... Just a minute before Kokabiel began dominating everyone, Issei stood on the other side of town. Miles upon miles away, pointing his hands in front of himself.

Having Ddraig powering his hand up to the very max, applying as much armor as he could to prevent further damage to himself, Issei powered up while having Ddraig shielding his energy signature. Compared to the sludge monster that he fought, this fallen angel was nothing remarkable to him. Issei sent a huge powerful inferno crozier at Kokabiel, rocketing straight towards him. Bursting straight through the barrier that was created to prevent Kokabiel from doing harm to the humans around, burning Kokabiel into nothingness in seconds... Issei sighed in relief before disappearing into the darkness.

Just like that... Another one bites the dust.
